With the picture for Gameweek 28 having taken shape over the weekend and the Fixture Ticker updated accordingly, we’re ready to unveil those teams who benefit from some promising schedules over the next four-to-six Gameweeks.

Hull City and Swansea City appear well placed to profit, while Burnley’s 1-0 defeat to Lincoln City in the FA Cup has propelled Liverpool players onto the radar, with the Reds now guaranteed to host the Clarets in Gameweek 28.

Hull City

(BUR, lei, SWA, eve, WHM, MID)
Four home matches in the next six, in a run that avoids all of the current top six, means that there is a lot to like about Hull’s upcoming schedule.

In terms of the attacking prospects, the Leicester City and West Ham United clashes stand out, given that they rank second and third for goals conceded over the last four Gameweeks, with nine and eight respectively.

The Burnley, Swansea City and Middlesbrough match-ups also appear favourable, though, considering the Clarets poor away record, and the fact that ‘Boro and Swansea have conceded 11 and eight big chances respectively over their last four encounters.

No obvious target in Marco Silva’s attacking ranks has emerged as yet, but Oumar Niasse and Lazar Markovic are certainly the ones to watch.

At the other end of the pitch, our targets are a little more concrete.

On paper, the Leicester, ‘Boro and Burnley encounters appear the most likely to yield defensive returns, with those three teams having managed zero, two and four goals respectively over their last four Gameweeks.

The Swansea and West Ham match-ups are also reasonable ties, though, leaving only the Everton clash in Gameweek 29 as the single fixture which casts doubts over potential defensive returns.

Given his price tag of just 4.1 in Fantasy Premier League (FPL), Eldin Jakupovic remains an obvious option, although the goal threat of Harry Maguire and the forward runs and supply from Andrew Robertson makes them intriguing picks.

Swansea City

(che, BUR, hul, bou, MID, TOT)

While their next six fixtures are bookended by tough encounters against Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur, the four matches in between appear very favourable for the Welsh side.

From a defensive perspective, the home clashes against Burnley and ‘Boro are strong, given that they’ve mustered just five and eight goals respectively away from home this season.

The trips to Hull and Bournemouth are also far from daunting, so Swansea defenders, and, in particular, Alfie Mawson, who has netted three times in his last six matches, appear worthy of consideration during this part of the season as we bid to navigate the blanks.

From an attacking perspective, the outlook is very similar.

Goals will be expected against Burnley with Sean Dyche’s side managing just one clean sheet in their 11 away matches. Meanwhile, no team has conceded more times than Bournemouth (12) over the last four Gameweeks.

If the Swans can maintain their recent upturn in form, the fixtures against Hull and ‘Boro also offer promise, so it’s difficult not to regard Gylfi Sigurdsson as an almost vital Fantasy asset over the next month or so.

The midfielder has registered three goals and a trio of assists over the last six Gameweeks and, combined with Fernando Llorente’s three consecutive blanks, it’s the Icelander who remains the key target in Paul Clement’s squad.

Liverpool

(lei, ARS, BUR, mci, EVE, BOU)

Jurgen Klopp’s men are another team that face four home fixtures in their next six, crucially playing in Gameweek 28, while the schedule remains very strong from Gameweek 31 onwards.

Looking at the attacking prospects, Liverpool appear to have three hugely enticing match-ups, with Bournemouth and Leicester currently two of the weakest defences in the Premier League, while Burnley’s away struggles make Gameweek 28 a tantalising encounter.

The other three fixtures on the current slate are trickier given the quality of the opposition, although, as their 2-0 win over Spurs in Gameweek 25 demonstrated, Klopp’s side can thrive against the stronger sides.

Burnley’s surprise FA Cup exit has really swung the balance towards Liverpool attackers in particular, with Sadio Mane already drafted in by over 188,000 FPL bosses, while Roberto Firmino could also re-emerge as a strong midfield option.

Given Burnley’s tally of a meagre five goals on their travels, those who currently own a Liverpool defender will be happy to hold for the time being.

Monday’s trip to the King Power Stadium is also very favourable given that the Foxes haven’t scored in their last six, while the Bournemouth fixture could also offer defensive returns.

But with the other three matches (ARS, mci, EVE) providing far sterner tests, it’s debatable whether Reds defence merits investment at this point.

Nathaniel Clyne is the leading contender for our five-man backlines, with Simon Mignolet a cheaper option in goal.

Also Consider

West Ham United
The Hammers are another team to benefit from having a match in Gameweek 28, one of four favourable fixtures in their next six (wat, CHE, bou, LEI, hul, ars).

Slaven Bilic’s men look capable of scoring goals against four sides who sit in the bottom half of the table, so Michail Antonio, Robert Snodgrass, Manuel Lanzini and Andy Carroll, providing he shakes off a nagging groin problem, could all provide solid value over this spell.

That’s compounded by the fact that the Hammers also face Swansea and Sunderland in Gameweeks 32 and 33.

Investment could also be warranted at the back, with Winston Reid’s goal threat from set-pieces, allied to the reasonable possibility of defensive returns in six of the next eight, edging the centre-back onto our radar.

Burnley
As already touched upon, the fact that the Clarets now play in Gameweek 28 means that their players hold slightly more appeal, despite playing four of the next six away from Turf Moor.

Tom Heaton’s 19.1% ownership in FPL will more than likely now be happy to hold, with clashes at Hull, Swansea, Sunderland, and at home to Stoke City, all fairly reasonable.

Interest in Burnley attackers may be harder to justify, though, given that the cheaper options available at Hull, Swansea and West Ham appear more likely to produce over the coming weeks.

But Robbie Brady did serve notice of his potential with a stunning free-kick against Chelsea and looks worth monitoring, while Ashley Barnes has shown improved form and consistent starts as a 4.5 option up front. Indeed, no forward has fired more attempts on goal over the last four Gameweeks than the cut-price frontman.

Watford
Although the Hornets suffer a blank in Gameweek 28, the fact that they face four of the next five (WHM, SOT, cpl, SUN, WBA) at home has attracted our attention.

For those seeking differentials in attack, both Troy Deeney and M’Baye Niang look intriguing options, with Walter Mazzarri’s men facing defences that should offer up opportunities for attacking points.

While the blank is likely to limit any investment at the back, those who still have Jose Holebas in their 15-man squads could get some value from the left-sided defender during the coming weeks.

Holebas has already amassed two goals and four assists this season, offering a decent attacking threat, while Watford may even promise one or two shut-outs over what is a crucial period of their campaign.

Everton
The Toffees’ short-term prospects remain bright, with three very strong home fixtures (SUN, WBA, HUL) in four.

Those that have jumped on Seamus Coleman, Ross Barkley and Romelu Lukaku should continue to be rewarded, then, with the Belgian expected to overcome a minor calf injury to line up against the Black Cats on Saturday.

Back-to-back away matches against Liverpool and Manchester United in early April provide a downside, though, so we perhaps need to have a plan to ditch one of our Everton assets come Gameweek 30.

Further favourable match-ups at home to Leicester and Burnley do follow in Gameweeks 32 and 33, however.

Repost from the bottom of the old post. Considering what to do with my 1 FT, which option looks the best for you:

    Foster
    Brunt, Baines, Alonso
    Phillips, Antonio, Sigurdsson, Mane
    Lukaku, Ibrahimovic*, Kane

subs: Heaton --- Jones*, Holgate*, Clayton --- 1 FT, 3.7 ITB

    A) Jones -> Robertson
    B) Holgate -> Coleman/Robertson
    C) Something else, what?

Is Mane so much better than Firminio to be worth waiting until GW28 week for Siggy?

    1) Sanchez > Mane GW26 in which case I will need to need to play Allen (MID) in GW27 and then bring in Siggy GW28 along with Kane > Carroll…if he’s fit.
    2) Sanchez > Firminio GW26 in which case I can bring in and play Siggy (BUR) in GW27

In any event I will be keeping Allen for the time being, just playing as and when appropriate.

There will be loads of 2 pointers in GW28.
If you have strong 27 and 29 it'll offset 28.

I'm not so sure about this. There's no rule that says just because it's the relegation-threatened teams playing that everyone will get 2 points. The same logic was used for the fateful Villa v QPR game a couple of seasons back and many took a 30-odd point advantage by deciding to punt or two on that one.

I still occasionally think about that match, I not only punted on Benteke, but gave him the armband too! ended up a 46 point swing that eventually led to me winning money at the end of my cash ML 🙂

You're right though, teams may be relegation threatened but still possess quality players capable of double figure hauls, ie this season alone: Siggy, Defoe, Zaha

Buying Aké a day before his loan recall sucked.

Did Sigurdsson > Coutinho the GW Liverpool faced Swansea. I even put the captaincy on Coutinho. Took me 3 GWs before I reversed. Can't remember doing that before.

I once had Bony this season. And Baston. I thought those two players were too good in the past to not work out. I was wrong.

I brought in Jenkinson after he played one game with Bellerin out injured. That's the failure that made me realize I wasn't paying close enough attention.

I did the same thing (though I did not captain Coutinho) and that cost me 21pts so far. I don't want to reverse it though in fear of making the same mistake. Coutinho is bound to start firing eventually and now is as good a time as any.

Dumping Hazard for Sanchez after GW7 (though Sanchez went on to redeem himself later...I probably should have made room for both).

Getting Lukaku instead of Costa after GW7. I was waiting indefinitely for Costa's fifth yellow, then he finally got it 2 weeks after I finally drafted him for Kun.

The incessant search for cheap third forward/fifth mid. From Gray to Benteke to Austin to Nacho to Origi to Stanislas. 6 transfers and 3 hits later...I should have just stuck with Gray.

Last but definitely not least - getting Siggy for Zaha after GW15 (Zaha's biggest haul). Then getting Coutinho for Siggy after GW 21 (just before Siggy started scoring). I could never get that one right.

GTG? I have 2.2 itb and 1 ft that i want to roll over but i'm worried about some of my yellow flagged players. (Mirallas, Lukaku, Carroll)

Playing 4-4-2 benched players in brackets

      Foster (Pickford)
      Baines Alonso Brunt Walker (Francis)
Hazard (c) Firmino Siggy Mirallas (Stanislas)
      Lukaku Carroll (Zatlan)

I'd concern yourself with the next 3 GWs before worrying about that.
I'd be tempted to ditch Mirallas > Snodgrass now as WHU have decent couple of games after 28 too.

I was thinking about bringing in a west ham midfielder for either Mirallas or Stanislas. Wasn't sure on which 1 as Snoddy, Antonio and Lanzini are all pretty similar.

It's something to do with how close St Etienne are to another French club (geographically) and they can't play on same night (bit like Spurs and Arsenal etc). Spurs play tomorrow

Hi all - I guess its planning time even though God laughs at people who make plans. Any holes in this?

      Heaton - Jaku
      Walker - Alonso - MacAuley - Coleman - Ake
      Sanchez - Eriksen - Alli - Phillips - Siggy
      Lukaku - Ibra - Anichebe

So this week looking at Anichebe to Barnes to start stocking up. Barnes looks nailed and saves cash.
GW27: Spurs mid to Liverpool mid. Personnel tbc after a good look at it. Mane for the 2 home games looks tempting.
GW28: Ake to Hull or Swansea defender. Likely a Swan as I have Jaku.

Gets me 9 for GW28. Pending on how it looks I may swap the order of the GW27 and 28 moves. More importantly I keep Ibra for 27 and don't need to mess around with Sanchez.

Are the transfers below sensible planning please fellas?

I was expecting a big headache on the blank GWs, but now I've nailed it in a single session I'm worried I've overlooked something stupid!

Current team (2 FTs, £1.6 ITB):
      Heaton
      Alonso, Baines, Pieters, Chambers, Amat
      Alexis, Siggy, Alli, Phillips, Fletch
      Ibra, Kane, Defoe

Transfers this week: Alexis & Defoe > Mane & Lukaku

GW 27 transfer (1 FT): Amat > Maguire
      Creates this GW 27 team:
      Heaton
      Alonso, Pieters, Maguire (Baines, Chambers)
      Mane, Siggy, Alli, Phillips (Fletch)
      Ibra, Kane, Lukaku

      GW 28 transfers (1 FT): Alli > Firmino, Pieters > Mawson/Smith (for -4 hit)
Creates this GW 28 team (10 players):
      Heaton
      Maguire, Baines, Mawson OR Smith
      Mane, Siggy, Firmino, Phillips, Fletch
      Lukaku
      Bench/non-playing: Alonso, Kane, Ibra, Chambers.

      Thanks.

If you want to captain him against Stoke and/or Everton, maybe

But if it's Lukaku this week and you definitely have Ibra for GW 27 - then getting him in just for regular points isn't that appealing

I just think that capt or not Kane will score more points v Everton and stoke than Ibra and Capoue in 26+27?
How much so do expect Ibra to score next GW?

We're entering the realms of wishful thinking and extremely hypothetical situations 🙂

I assume Ibra gets a goal, and if lucky an assist against Bou. As captain, that gives me 20 odd points from him and assuming Capoue gets an assist over the next 2 GWs, that's another 8-10 points.

So we're talking about Kane making 30 odd points in 2 GWs. Again, if you're captaining him, might be feasible, but if not - don't see how he gets that many points

Plus, it's a sideways transfer in terms of GW28 blanks, so you also lose an FT doing it

Capoue blanks 28 as well so he will only play one game and will likely get 2pts plus say 10 from Ibra meaning 12 which I feel Kane could get no probs but I get what you mean about one less player for GW28

Current need one of the two players below to play in order to field XI. Who would you sell in order to get a starter for 26 and 28?
      A) Stanislas
      B) Diomande

3m ITB, 0FT. Best affordable mid options: Lallana, Snodgrass. Best affordable striker: Carroll.

Stan to Snoddy seems like the ideal move

Unless ofcourse you have no Liv cover, in which case Lallana would work too - but definitely remove Stan

I have Mane (C). Stanislas is the more likely of the two to get a start IMO, he is Bournemouth's best attacking player for me, I guess he doesn't do enough defensive work or something. Diomande has only made a brief sub appearance in the last 3, way down the pecking order since Hull's transfer activity in January.

True, but I think Diomande is ok as bench fodder for this week. I am never very sure of Carroll with his injury streaks, so would rather assume I play only 2 strikers and keep Dio benched

Also, not sure how nailed on Stan is - and Snoddy just seems like a better pick given the fixtures as well. I don't expect either of them to have insanely big hauls, but they keep the point meter flowing and help navigate the blanks

Dio to Barnes may be a cheap playing option. Barnes has chipped in with a few points when involved...
