Gareth Bale saves the gameweek, as Tottenham’s 2-0 win draws things to a close. Time for us to round things up, rummaging through the Opta data to pick out the statistics that matter, taking a punt at the Fantasy Premier League bonus points along the way…

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

What would you suggest I do with 1 FT this week?

    Westwood (Ruddy)
    Jones Enrique BAE (Simpson Brown)
    Silva Nani Bale Ramsey (Allen)
    RVP Ade Sturridge

I think Ramsey is my weakest link but, with QPR at home and no other great options at that price, I might give him one more week.

he only got 20 mins today, reckon he's pretty much guaranteed to start vs QPR I'd leave him in. Maybe use 2 frees next week to get some Everton coverage for DGW (Jags, Osman or Donovan) Beyond that I don't see too much wrong, I'd lose at least 1 of those keepers, but I'd wait till you wc to do that.

Tough one, think I'd do Jevans > BAE. Ba has as good a chance as Sturridge of scoring this gameweek. Jevans is supposedly out and I'd fancy another Spurs cleanie against the Swans.

2FTs, team linked. Thinking of pulling trigger on Drenthe + Evans -----> Bale + Shotton based on advice few pages ago. Any reason why not to make the moves, feel that Drenthe is not essential for DGW where as Bale is.

only issue with Silva is (as with most City players) goals and assists are pretty spread around, so with the exception of Aguero (and occasionally Dzeko or Richards) no City player really gets the sort of points that justify their price tag (and I'm speaking as someone who's had Silva from GW1)

True but apart from last few he has got almost a goal/assist every game when he plays. I would only want him back post DGW and losing 0.4 value is not worth it just to keep Drenthe who could only start one game in DGW. Who know what moyes will do?

Were they both given free roles? Seemed like Bale was practically playing off Ade, whereas VDV was sitting alot deeper. He barely got into the box once today. Always a chance of assists with corners, but if he isn't on pens he's not worth the cash imo.

Walker, Bale and Ade for me.

    Krul Vorm
    Simpson Shawcross Brown Boyata EVANS
    Bale Nani Sinclair Silva Dyer
    RVP Ba Adebayor

Ba to Sturridge is what I've done. Evans to BAE is probably a good option considering your other defensive players. Dyer probably needs to be changed too 🙂

Yeh im not so sure tbh. If we had of beaten Wolves then I think his would have been rested but not sure now. Wenger may start him and take him off as early as half-time if we are looking comfortable. Tough one to pick. Dont think I will be giving him the armband.

He might play both, but I think it is very likely he will be rested for either QPR or Fulham. No one on here will really know which. But it does mean that someone with a 50% chance of being rested becomes an unattractive captain option. Perhaps the best policy is to play him, but give the armband to someone else?

Am thinking ahead to options for the January wildcard, what do people think of switching Silva, Walters and Ferguson for Dempsey, Sessegnon and Ben Arfa?? Is it mad to be considering losing Silva and Walters? It would give me a midfield of Nani, Bale, Dempsey, Sess and HBA which on paper should get its fair share of goals.

yep HBA is a risky punt, I'm thinking he'd be a decent 5th midfielder (1st sub) to have, especially if he can get a run in the team. Dempsey / Walters is a tough call, I've had Walters from day 1 and am a fan but really like Dempseys fixtures and the fact that he's sort of playing just off Ruiz at the moment.

    Howard
    Jones Brown BAE
    Silva Nani Walters Larsson
    Ba RVP Ade
    Subs: Vorm, Moses, Naylor, Simpson

Originally i was always going Larsson-Drenthe and Ba-Sturridge but feel i need to get bale in,

Only options i can think of instead are
    A) Howard-Sorensen (therefore missing dgw from howard although i dont think everton defence/gk will get much extra), Ba-Fletcher, Larsson-Bale (either this week for 4 pointer or next week for free.)

    B) Brown-Shotton, Ba-Morrison/Holt and Larsson->Bale (same as above)

    Thoughts/Opinions would be greatly appreciated

I'm 35-34 ahead...he will prob get Baines 3bps and me McAuley 2bps...leaving us level.

not sure that is a worth a wc tbh, wildcards should be used if you are really struggling or have a shed load of injuries, not to take advantage of some good first term fixtures, as you will then spend all your time trying to get those players out once their fixtures turn.

still think it's a waste of wc for 4 transfers with a short-term goal, there will come a time when you'll need it and regret using it just for that.

4 trades? Pointless. Take a 4 point hit for the next 2 weeks & you get that side.

agree with Torres, you're not really getting much value for your wc with 4 trades...take two 4 pt hits and save the wildcard for later in the season.

looking for some wisdom, I currently have
    Vorm Hennessey
    Kompany Vermaelen Raylor Caulker Assou-ekotto
    Silva Bale Larsson Sinclair Walters
    Rvp Ba Ade

With tough fixtures ahead for Newcastle Im thinkin about ba to Sturrige. I have just enough to where ill come out even with 0 in the bank. I have 2 ft before the next gameweek. What do you guys think of that trade and any other ideas for trades? I know Assou will be out for ACON in a few gameweeks so im considering trying to get him out for maybe jose enrique or walker? Ideas?

BAE not going to ACON I don't think. Ba is going up tonight so that may help you in the Ba swap, but Ba has shown he can score against anyone and Wolves seem to be improving. BAE - Walker could work for you. I think I'd save the other one tbh. Gives you 2 frees to use for DGW.

thats true about ba. thats part of the reason I kept him so long. What about getting Laarson and sinclair out for moses and valencia? I don't have anything set but I was thinkin about something along those lines since my Man U cover is nonexistant.

not sure losing Larsson for Moses is worth it to get Tony V. If you can afford it, maybe Kompany - Jones?

with his injury though is he supposed to be back my next gameweek? I read he was going to play this gw and never did. I would also be worried about resting and rotation where kompany is nailed on. I know city hasn't been keeping too many clean sheets but more often than not I have gotten assists from him.

also worth thinkin about getting some everton players in there for the DGW coming up? I realize they play each other which I think spurs will take but I could still get points out of a midfielder like osman or drenthe? if I do drenthe it would free up some funds as well

I reckon Wenger really needs to bring in another striker in January. RVP is doing an amazing job of dragging the team out of trouble, but it's crazy to be so dependent on one guy with a history of injuries.

But wenger likes 4-3-3 with that 3 - gervin, walc, RVP. If he brings in another he will go to 4-4-2. He has wilshire to return plus arteta, ramsey, song to pick in the midfield. He needs a prolific scorer who is versatile in wide positions.

It's a funny old game. Had myself down for a season high score this week and ended up with 20 (comfortably my lowest of the season).

Any advice for this lot? Swaying towards JEvans -> Shotton, but may even just save it and run the risk with 2 non-playing defenders...

Problem is with 0.0m in the bank, there aren't any defenders worth getting for 3.9m or less, so it either means JEvans goes or I make 2 transfers and take a hit.
