Gareth Bale saves the gameweek, as Tottenham’s 2-0 win draws things to a close. Time for us to round things up, rummaging through the Opta data to pick out the statistics that matter, taking a punt at the Fantasy Premier League bonus points along the way…
BA + SILVA OUT
BALE + STURRIDGE IN
omggg im so confused.. what to doooooooooooooooooooOpen ControlsI need some help.. unsure of what my next move should be, especially given the last 3 gw have left me with 2 red arrows out of 3. Team for gw 19:
Vorm (TOT)
Wilkinson (WIG) Verm (QPR) Simpson (liv)
Walters (WIG) Bale (swa) Nani (BLA) Silva (sun)
Sturridge (AVL) Ba (liv) RvP (QPR)
Krul (liv), Drenthe (wba), JEvans (inj), NTaylor (TOT / inj)
Was planning Ba > Adebayor with the freebie, in preperation for dgw and Ba's tougher fixtures before ACON, but feel that I need to make a move with more impact because of lost ground - main competitors already have Adebayor. Also concerned of RvP missing QPR next gw.
Thinking Silva is disposable, can afford to take the .3m hit and bring him back in wildcard if I really need to. Options are:
a) Ba > Ade
b) Silva > Valencia
c) JEvans > Gallas
d) Silva > Dempsey
e) Combination of 2 above for a 4pt hit
f) Other
Any input would be greatly welcomed. Scratching my head over what I should do.Open ControlsMy main concern would be your defence. Wilkinson hasn't played in a while, Taylor and Evans are both injured, so you'll be left with two starting defenders - one of which is Simpson at Anfield.
Open ControlsI'd say c) if Gallas was nailed-on
JEvans > Shotton, perhaps?Open Controls
Valencia's had an impressive last few weeks: 12, 8, 6, 11 (+bps).
Open ControlsWell BAE went up, bit of a shame that
Open ControlsSinclair > Ramsey worth a one week punt? I knows he's been shit FPL wise, but Arsenal are at home to QPR and he should be nailed on to start after being rested today. Planning on getting Drenthe or another similarly priced Everton midfielder for the DGW.
Open ControlsWhy not just do to drenthe this week instead? Saves you a transfer you might need elsewhere. Ramsey isn't going to get you anything so it's not worth it IMO.
Open ControlsThats been my plan. The QPR fixture is intriguing though, especially considering the possibility RVP my be rested.
Open Controls
I'd say it's probably worth it, I'm still a fan of Ramsey as an FPL prospect, in spite of all the rubbish returns.
Only worry is that you never know when a penalty will bite you in the arse. Happened to me this week with Baines, who I just got rid of, and it could easily happen to you with Sinclair.
Either way, I hope they both do well, because they'll both being in my starting XI!Open Controls
Ta, just checked 'Price rises/falls (round)' and nothing listed there. Team value not updated either, as usual.
You go through individually? 😀Open Controls
Anyone going for the uber defence on the wildcard.
I'm thinking:
Vorm, Kenny
Senderos, McAuley, Simpson, Brown, Caulker.Open ControlsEnrique is must have, surely?
Other than that I love it!Open ControlsKeeping my main stays of Enrique and BAE, but I'm definately going to free up funds in my defence like no tomorrow when the wildcard comes around. Pump money into my strike force and upgrade Ba to someone like Aguero when the fixtures start calming down.
Open ControlsIm thnking something similar too. I'm going cheap defenders 2nd half of the season. Doubling up on swansea, newcastle and/or stoke
Open ControlsSorenson Ruddy
Enrique, McAuley, Simpson, Caulker, ????Open Controlsthink there will be a lot more clean sheets second half of the season for the likes of man u city the pool and chelsea teams like swa qpr will not hold clean sheets like they are doing they always tire as the season goes on as there squads are not that great jmo i will hold onto 1 o 2 from the big teams
Open Controls
anyone looking at osman west brom coming up and the double game week
Open Controlscup tie:
me- +1 point baps from mata(c) ade
him: bale+ba+raylor
what do you think? any chance of going through?Open ControlsMata: AVL wol SUN nor swa
Silva: sun LIV wig TOT eve
Rotation expected in 2nd game and City have far more alternatives.
For the first time this season it's crossing my mind to do a short-term Silva > Mata swap and fix it in the WC.Open ControlsI will lose some money for sure. Good point about no champions league but Silva played an incredible amount even during the champions league, won't affect him too much, and the problem is that he's not the indispensable player through which all play must flow like Mata is to Chelsea - so even if City bang in goals (which has slowed a little of late) he's not guaranteed to be involved. I still cannot doubt him as a long-term option but over the next 5 GWs he might just fall behind Mata.

can i help some help please
my team is thus
1 free transfer 0.3mill to spend
really feel like i need to sort this transfer tonight before price rise
vorm ruddy
enrique jevans kompany simpson shawcross
allen walters nani silva bale
sturridge van persie adebayor
shud i go walters to osman, but walters has wigan coming up
or should i go shawcross to be, or gallas,or should i get rid of jevans
help please thanks!!!
btw was planning to widcard after week 20- in your wildcard week do you ahve to make all your transfers at once, or can you make as many as u want before the deadline, thanks for the helpOpen ControlsPrice rises have already happened.
Definitely wouldn't get rid of either Shawcross or Walters this week, that's a ludicrous suggestion. Don't think you need to make any transfer to be honest.
Vorm (TOT)
Enrique (NEW) Kompany (sun) Shawcross (WIG)
Walters (WIG) Nani (BLA) Silva (sun) Bale (swa)
Sturridge (AVL) RVP (QPR) Adebayor (swa)
Looks very solid to me.Open Controlsok was planning to get some tottenham defence in ahead of the dgw- so should i save it then? so after this gw should i then look to get shawcross out for bae/ gallas, and if so which one,
also is the walters to osman transfer one worth thinking of, as tht wud give me 4 players for the dgw?
was also thnking of taking a risk and captaining nani, thoughts?Open ControlsBoth planned transfers look very decent for next week, so I'd just save up the transfer this week and make them for free before the DGW.
Nani (c) is a very good bet.Open Controlsok but what if i cant afford them
shawcross is 5.1
gallas is 4.8
bae is 5.3 and rising
walters is 6.4 for me
osman is 6.7 and rising
i only have 0.3m in the bank- should i just go gallas???Open ControlsOsman isn't rising fast at all, he won't go up before the start of the next gameweek, and considering you can't afford Shawcross > BAE and Walters > Osman, I wouldn't worry about BAE.
Open Controls
had my worst week yet I went up in rank ...happy : )
Open ControlsVery nice rank. 🙂
Open Controls
Just to encourage anyone coming up from low scores...
Was rock bottom at GW10 with a 25pt GW, a GW ranking of 2.1 million and an overall ranking of 814k.
Eight GWs and 24pts of hits later, a 55pt GW with a GW ranking of 130k has taken me up to 215k.
Keep going.Open ControlsI see everyone here and their dog is bringing in Sturridge for Ba. I might too but does anyone think Balotelli might be the better shout?
Open ControlsRotation hell. Had him earlier in the season. See Dzeko, Edin 😉
Open ControlsEh I don't rate Dzeko, i think he's very ordinary. I'd be more worried about City signing a new forward.
As for Balotelli, he's come on an awful lot in the last 3 months. Plus im a big fan... he's a funny bast*rd and the sorta player i wouldn't mind cheering for.Open ControlsOh ditto on all those points, but doesn't matter how well Balo plays, he'll average 1/2 games started at best. He was scoring whenever he started when I had him but would be rested for the next one. Unless you've got a great mid to sub on you're screwed there, and if he gets a cameo you're even more screwed. And that's the other thing, he doesn't seem to push on: regularly gets 1 goal and stops there. So basically even in a pretty good scenario of "1st game: start and goal 2nd game: sub on" you're talking 7-8 points over 2 GWs which is an average of 4. Even Morison, Fletcher, Graham can do better than that.
Open Controls
not for me. i wouldn't want to bet on either of aguero or balotelli starting v sunderland
Open ControlsHmm you're probably right. Worst time of the year to sign players from the best squad in the league. Boring obvious Sturridge it is.
Open Controlsi see it as you'll want to get rid of balotelli again very soon so it's 2 transfers on someone you aren't even sure will start. the 2 days between sunderland and liverpool really adds a risk to city players
Open ControlsIt must be a sign of desperation.. but I'm itching to take a punt on Dzeko. Maybe he'll be used against Sunderland to give the main guns a rest..
*tries to convince self*Open Controls
Damn down to sub 3k. Whyyyy did I not get Bale
Open ControlsDown 38 places pre BPs. Not too bad in the end as Bale saved the day
Open Controls
Australia loses another wicket!
Open ControlsAny players you feel more inclined to stick with post Jan WC due you increased value?
For meL
RVP at 11.9
Ade at 8
Sturridge at 6.8
Silva at 9.5
Nani at 9.9
Bale at 8.5
Enrique at 5Open ControlsRvp to who?
1. Rooney
2. Berbatov
3. Hernandez
4. Chamakh
5. Adebayor
Already got ba and sturridge
ThanksOpen ControlsWhy are you selling?
Open ControlsYou are joking... right?
Open ControlsRvp rested next game then tricky game away at fulham? Much better prospects for the price over next few gameweeks I reckon
Open Controls
4
Open ControlsWhy are you so sure RVP will be rested v QPR?
Open Controls5
Open ControlsWenger hinted he would be rested either for wolves or qpr game, it wasn't wolves so must be qpr
Reckon chamakh could go crazy v terrible qpr defence and he has something to prove and HUD differential for 1 week but ade is good shout because of dgwOpen Controls
lol, I swear half the people recommending options here are doing so ironically.
Open ControlsTo be fair, only two people actually recommended options. SuperDunny is definitely taking the piss, applebonkers is just recommending the most sensible replacement - not that getting rid of RVP is sensible, mind.
Open Controls
2. 😉
Open ControlsTorres, Carroll or Heskey IMO
Open Controls
Australia 3/24
Open ControlsMan City's away form hasn't been that good recently, but next game at Sunderland looks like it might be quite promising. Injuries at the back had MON playing oop midfields at the back against Everton no?
Anyone care to predict who's going to start up front for City...?Open Controlsworst case scenario seems to be: gardner-o'shea-brown-richardson for sunderland. it's not ideal but it's not as hopeless as i hoped either
Open Controlsjust seen your earlier comments.. I hadn't realised til then that City had a game against Liverpool that soon after.
As said above... might mull over a punt on Dzeko. Desperate stuff I know.
...I mean flair.Open Controls
can someone help clarify to me how the wildcard works as i was looking to play it after the dgw
with the wildcard do you have to make all your transfer in one go during that week, or can you keep changing ur team right up until the deadline of the next week. this is because i was thinking of using the wildcard after gw20 to make me some money. i was also thinking tht i could use the time before gw 21 to get players who pricing are going to rise double in, make some money then get them out. thoughts???Open ControlsYes, you play the w/c between deadlines in week 21. You can make as many transfers as you like during that gameweek on your wildcard 🙂
The smart cats on here identify the probable risers for that week and transfer them early hoping for a .2 price rise or better. Pretty rare though.
This site will help you identify the likely risers: http://www.fiso.co.uk/crackthecode.phpOpen ControlsYup will be doing that, big-style. Might delay my WC as late as possible because I'm ok with my team and want to get in any transfer window players.
Open Controls
All my points from one game 😕
Time for some careful plotting with transfers. Lots to get my bonce around with w/cs, fixtures, rotation probability.
Priority at this time of year is to keep the bench in play. So with that in mind, thoughts please on priorities from my team: Dyer (back from injury), Naylor (crocked and worsening fixtures) and Evans (crocked).
Current thinking:
Evans->Shotton...or if brave, Evans->Gallas 😕Open ControlsYou think you have it hard with rotation and injuries.
Welbeck (rotation), RVP (rotation), Pilkington (benched), Evans (injured), Wilkinson (benched)Open ControlsNow if you had Rooney...all your troubles would have faded away 😉
Open ControlsBugger off. 😉
I'm planning on doing Welbeck and Pilkington to Ade and Moses (-4), thoughtsOpen ControlsWelbeck, Pilks and Evans - as you say, all a problem right now.
I'd be doing Pilks->Bale right away.
To raise the funds, Welbeck could become Studge if you can afford it.
However you propose, Welbeck->Ade, Pilks->Moses and this is the better option I fancy. Surman and Gomez might be worth some consideration also.Open ControlsI'm doing Silva to Bale next week, wouldn't want to go without him for his fixtures.
Open ControlsIt's not ideal but I'll be looking at:
Howard
Enrique, Simpson, McAuley (Wilkinson, Evans-still could be fit)
Mata, Nani, Silva, Moses(Sess)
RVP, Ade, BaOpen ControlsTottenham 3-0 West Brom
Everton 1-0 Bolton
Totteham 1-0 EvertonOpen ControlsYep about right. WBA always have the ability to score, so 3-1 might be more likely.
BOL are so unpredictable with scoring but they'll be desperate to score and get something out of the game. 1-0/2-1 all possible. Even 1-1 with the way EVE have been playing.Open Controls
Good thinking, I cleared my bench up last GW and it paid off handsomely.
Would ditch Naylor first tbh as all his home games are nightmares. Naylor > Shotton. Gallas has been discussed before - good differential option and probable starter, but not as nailed on as Shotton and doesn't have such nailed on home CS. Does have better away CS prospects though.Open ControlsShotton 17pts in last 5 playing all games. I like it. STK seem to be getting results with him as well so TP is unlikely to change the team much.
Has 3 useful home fixtures in next 6 as well. Top advice - thanks 😉Open ControlsTa - we're all here to improve each other's teams and I've lost count of the number of times I've had good tips here 😀
Open Controls
Walters out for
A. Charlie Adam
B. Theo WalcottOpen ControlsNeither looks great.
DEMPSEY.Open Controls+1
I want Dempsey, but not too sure who I should sacrifice from my mid. Might hold fire for a gw or two personally, but def a good suggestion if you're shopping around.Open ControlsYeah, I've ignored him for a while because he's from a not very high scoring team, but he seems to be involved in almost all their goals and they seem to be improving - Dembele, Murphy, Sa and Ruiz may be beginning to fire. One definitely to watch - VDV owners should be on red alert, maybe even Silva's.
Open Controls
Keep him for now
Open Controls
4-27, will they make 47?
Open Controlsyes. never mind that can someone please explain to me quite how the wildcard works regarding tranfers, see my above post nobody has responded too
Open ControlsUp can make them one by one, make profits on players that rise 0.2 etc.
Open Controls
Hey upto 19th in ur league.. 😀
Open ControlsWhat's going on with the pitch all of a sudden?
Open ControlsPitch is doing something but the Aussie batsman didn't help the cause,
Open Controls
Xmas League Updated. Top 10 = 59 or higher.
Open ControlsLikelihood of Gallas starting all 3 games in GW 20-21?
Open Controlsive been deliberating this
im saving my transfer this week then next week looking to go shawcross and walters out for bae/gallas and osman, however i only have 0.3 in the bank so cant do both without changing others which i dont want to do. thus thinking of gallas, hes been playing every game recently, but dawson may be back arghhhOpen ControlsGallas' rival King has chronic injury problems doesn't he? 4.8 is tempting for Gallas and access to Spurs CS (which have got better) but BAE is only 0.5 more and is nailed on with attacking threat.
Open Controls
I got 2.2 mil sitting in the bank. itching to do something.
Vorm (Ruddy)
BAE - Phil Jones - Raylor (Whitbread, Caulker)
Walters - Nani - Silva - Bale (Gower
Studge - Ade - Rooney
SOMEONE HELP ME WITH A KNEE JERKKKKOpen ControlsWalters > Dempsey BAM
Open ControlsSeems like everyone is saying to hold onto walters for at least 1 more gameweek.
Is it worth it to upgrade BAE to Walker? Seems to be getting in the attacking position way more often than BAE.Open ControlsActually I have to agree Walker is a better attacking option than BAE though I feel BAE is due to add to his 2 assists. I just don't think that's your most pressing transfer in a period when playing 11 might be difficult let alone optimizing between the same team's defenders. Try upgrading Gower or Whitbread perhaps to deal with the inevitable starting lineup shocks like this week?
Open ControlsWhat's with all the dempsey love? Fixtures aren't great yet.
Open ControlsPoint is he's been doing well even in horrible fixtures.
Team scored against include, new LIV CHE, has assisted against MCI EVE, and often with Fulham not attacking very well. May be fixture-proof, and should do better in easier fixtures.Open Controls
Maybe its time to ship out Gower as he doesn't play full games or even play for that matter. I can do a straight swap to L Osman for Gower...good idea? Any better option for 6.7mil?
