    Anyone got any firm ideas when they intend to play the Jan WC? Looking at the fixtures, few of the big teams seem to have decent runs, apart from City.

    Need some help...

    My team: Vorm, Ruddy - Jevans, P. Jones, Vermaelen, Simpson, Enrique, - Silva, Nani, Mata, Larsson, Allen - RVP, Ade, Stturidge

    Looking to bring Bale and maybe one more Tottenham/Everton player for DGW.

    Should I go with:

    Larsson + Enrique + Jevans --> Bale, Shotton, McAulley (8pts hit)

    Nani + Larsson --> Bale, Valencia (4pts hit)

    Or maybe something else... not having Bale killing me. Im still in the cup and got P. Jones, Enrique and Silva and initial price.

    Thought bale saved me last night and was going through 44-41 pre bonus, looks I'm now going out on total goals conceded after we tied 50-50 and both teams only have two goals scored. 7-6 on goals conceded aswell, I'm gutted.

    this may be a dumb question, but why is it that mine and my cup opponent's cup result score is not the same as our actual GW scores? from what everyone else is saying it seems as if that the update has gone through already?

    by my calculations i'm on a coin toss, so maybe that's the reason??

          I am doing Enrique to walker after this gw. I think that's a sound move for you. Evans is a liability. I know he is a cheap way into the utd defence but he is awful. Good move. Ship Ramsey nxt week. Don't take hits.

    Rodwell what's the dealo with him???

    He's on my subs bench for 4wks now not causing me problems and I'm holding him for the dgw, is there any point? Will he even play?

      I wouldn't say totally crocked. IMHO; this is a David Moyes Special Brew...it's only a hammy, but in Moyes' mind, he would like to fend off interest by big clubs, reportedly gathering a big bid (some say in the 20 million BP range) for the youngster. Also the kid historically appears to be a slowish healer. The two opponents leading up past that Jan. deadline are right down his Gordon-esque, bore-you-to-death, 6-defender wheelhouse (Sunderland & WBA). Who else would play Neville and Heitinga in CM together? They packed it in after leveling against Sunderland for godsake. My hunch, is the DGW gets very interesting as far as starts fr midfielders.
      People might even see...if there is a god...Neville benched for eternity, Distin and Heitinga fighting it out for CB, Rodwell back in a boring DM-lite role, Donovan or Osman fighting it out for the other Barkley out wide right...or Donovan in Cahill's role (word is he's been dropped..finally). Don't think Vellios gets a start yet as Saha has been dealing with rubbish service since GW3. Moyes is too loyal to drop him so soon after Cahill.

      Can't believe you've held Jack for that long...waiting for a trade? Chances are he probably will be delt in my opinion, Moye's games won't work...if that's what they are. Could be the edict has come from management: make sure the goods are 100% uncrocked for the move.

    why did Phil Jones miss out? Was he ill like Smalling or was it just still the concussion? Thinking of shipping for Walker/BAE (doing so this week will allow me to have BAE/Walker, Bale, Ade, Drenthe/Osman for the double.

      considered this.

      One immediate strategy is to load up for this DGW (i can get 5 without hits) and then restructure you team with the WC.

      It is only a small window of opporunity bu could catch up or gain 20+ points if done well.

    any thoughts on this,

    i have 2x transfers available and 1.1 in the bank, poss transfer for this week, BAE > Brown, Adebayor > Suarez, the obvious choice would have been to ship out Ba, but just realised with the transfer sell on i would only get 7.0 for him so will hold onto him till he leaves for the African nations cup

    thoughts on silva to bale now before price changes ,valencia and shelvey to osman and vdv for a hit next week?

    however silva is my only city coverage. alternatively i could do valencia to bale this week and nani and shelvey for vdv and osman next week. or could do all three changes next week

    Like most I’m planning my dgw coverage. I currently have bale and ade, but I’m pretty sure that my opponent has just signed bale, giving him bale and ade.
    So who should my other dgw transfers be, thoughts on the following please
    A. Vdv & jags (would mean losing mata)

    B. Walker

    C. BAE

    D. Walker/BAE & drenthe (would mean losing mata)
    I was set on a spurs defender but perhaps an extra spurs attacking player is the way too go.

      Glen Johnson if you can afford him! 7 bonus points in his last 3 games - he seems to be an EA PPI darling! Pool keep the odd clean sheet, and he can hit a ball nicely too. 0.7% ownership! I did it to differentiate from the Enrique masses...

          It does seem really odd. There would often be jokes about the "man in the stand" having his favourites, but the PPI system seems to like certain players too. I mean, the other week, Vorm keeps a clean sheet, 8 saves, and a penalty save in one game and gets zero... last night Friedel may have touched the ball 3 times, yet gets a bonus point!

    59 points for the week and still out of the cup. Oh well at least I was against an active player.

    My opponent had almost the same team and ranking. It basically came down to me having a 4pt hit (to get in Bale and Shotton) and him having Ade, Dempsey & Wilko versus my Studge, Nani & Shotton.

    I would have won most weeks but it wasnt to be. At least I can concentrate on the league now (the most common of managerial excuses after a cup defeat) 😆
