Manchester City finally book their place in the FA Cup quarter finals as they hit five for the second match running and confirm their double Gameweek 27.

Man City 5 Huddersfield 1

A Sergio Aguero brace and fine performances from Raheem Sterling and Leroy Sane broke a spirited Huddersfield at the second time of asking.

It also sparked an overnight rush to buy into the consequent double Gameweek for City, who travel to Sunderland at the weekend before entertaining Stoke City next Wednesday.

Aguero leapt from ninth to fifth for players purchased with more than 36,000 swooping in the last 24 hours. Meanwhile, Sterling rose to second (from fourth) with over 28,000 investing overnight. Both John Stones and Sane also enjoyed an increase in transfers among Fantasy managers keen to exploit the short-term appeal of Pep Guardiola’s players.

And short-term it is. A blank Gameweek 28 will follow, with Liverpool at home and away matches at Arsenal and Chelsea to come after that.

The victory over Huddersfield was a very City performance – at times irresistible in attack, often incoherent in defence.

The recalled Claudio Bravo looked like a man giving up goalkeeping for Lent when he dived over a Huddersfield shot to give the visitors a shock early lead.

But when Sane equalised from a Sterling assist and Aguero scored from the penalty spot following a foul on Nicolas Otamendi, the tie was only ever going to end one way.

A Pablo Zabaleta tap-in from an Aguero cut-back before the break confirmed the primacy of their attack, although the visitors still had good chances either side of half-time as City’s defence once again failed to impress.

Sterling set up Aguero for his second and substitutes Kelechi Iheanacho and Jesus Navas combined to round off the scoring at the death as a tired Huddersfield finally capitulated.

Aguero (12.7) now has four goals and three assists from his last four starts in all competitions and his high price is clearly not an issue for some Fantasy managers.

Guardiola was certainly keen to talk him up post-match.

“It’s the best Sergio Aguero ever. Today the performance was amazing. The runs were at the right moment and the right tempo. His performance was top.”

Sterling, however, is looking particularly consistent – he has either scored or assisted in his last six matches in all competitions – and his 7.8 price tag is rather more easily afforded by those with less cash to splash.

Let’s also not forget Sane, though, whose opener took his tally to four goals and three assists in his last seven starts across all competitions. Setting you back 7.5 and with 1% ownership, the German looks well set to emerge as an enticing differential for the double.

Manchester City X: Bravo, Zabaleta, Stones, Otamendi, Clichy, Fernandinho, Sane (Navas 81), De Bruyne (Delph 75), Garcia, Sterling, Agüero (Iheanacho 79).
Subs not used: Caballero, Sagna, Fernando, Silva.

    Hi all!
    Preparing for coming 3 GWs.
    Thinking of this:
GW 27 - Eriksen to Sterling (Don't see Everton conceding many)
    GW 28 - Sterling to Firmino/Coutinho
GW 29 - Eriksen back again

Or should I go for Sane?

Yes, was thinking the same, even if they play one game, right now are in form and have good fixtures to outscore others. Second game will obviously be a bonus.

"Andy Carroll returned to training with the squad on Wednesday after working for the previous four days individually on the pitch.

It is never ideal when a player cannot train and recover regularly. Andy has barely trained this past month, but Andy has now returned to full training in preparation for Chelsea. "

I know everyone has a similar question, but this is doing my head in so would really appreciate some expert opinion!
Already getting in Aguero and Sane for a hit, but if Phillips is out, I will only have 10 this week, so would you:
A: Amat to Mawson for a hit and keep Phillips
B: Phillips & Alonso to Funis Mori & Sterling for a double hit
    Cheers!!!

Looking at short term form and selectively picking stats gives me this:

City 2 clean sheets in last 3 league games.

Stoke failed to score in 2 of last 3 league games.

Sunderland failed to score in 4 of 5 last league games.

John Stones has bonus points in his last two matches (2 and 1).

    Worth a look?

        Sunderland

        Stoke
        8 apps 8 goals 1 assist

Already scored 2 against Stoke this year away. 1 against Sunderland home.

I would happily wager that one of Aguero, Ibra, Kane, Sanchez, Mane, Costa and Siggy outscore Deeney.

The outcome you suggest would be unfortunate, but doesn't mean that the decision at the time is wrong. Deeney captain is not viable this week.

Do you think Sanchez drops one more 0.1 until GW29?

This is crucial for me. If I think he'll drop I'm getting Sterling today, but if we asume he's not dropping, I need to go Sane. It's a part of getting back Sanchez plan.

Anyway, Sane could be even better pick than Sterling!

Can someone please explain to me the broadcast situation in the UK, I live in Egypt and I can watch the 10 games live. Why are some games in the EPL not broadcasted live?

They can only show a certain number of games and these have to be rescheduled so they don't clash with main fixture list. That is why the games are never shown at 3pm on Saturday, the reason given is that showing the big teams at 3pm live would stop people going to watch games and affect their income, particularly teams from the lower divisions who rely on gate money

In the U.K. we get no EPL games on free tv. To watch EPL we must subscribe to either Sky Sports or BT sports.

The fixtures at 3pm on a Saturday are never on tv, this is to protect the tradition of going to the match on a Saturday afternoon. All other EPL fixtures such as Saturday 12:30 or 17:30, Sunday and Monday are arranged at those times to accommodate subscription tv.

and do all people find this acceptable? I understand the logic behind that now (since it's pure business) but I find it pure madness.

Considering doing Kane>Aguero TC and Holebas>Mawson. 2 Free Transfers. This will give me 8 players for 28. Possibly 9 of diamonde plays. Possibly only 7 if he doesn't and Phillips is injured too :/.

So team for this week is

    Heaton (Pickford)
    Mawson Alonso Brunt
    Sanchez Alli Eriksen Sigurdsson Phillips
    Aguero (TC) Lukaku

    Evans Diamonde Funes Mori

Team for GW 28 (1FT to use)

    Heaton
    Brunt Mawson FunesMori Evans
    Phillips (doubt) Sigurdsson
    Lukaku Diamonde (not 1st team)

So would probably use the transfer to do Alli to a Liverpool mid?

Good strat? Consider hits for GW28? Kane back in GW29.

Alli to Sterling for a -4 hit?
More than 100 points between me and the league leader at the moment.

You should do it if you're not going to swap back - otherwise you need Sterling to outscore Alli by 8 - which is possible but will be odds against.

As is Sterling. But it is of no consequence when the swap back is done - it'll still be 8 points that needs to be gained.

So then Sane + sterling move (-8) is highly recommended?

As a Huddersfield fan, by scoring a brace against our reserves, Aguero has earned himself the TC.

        Yes and no.

He is getting the TC, as I'm chasing, but he will struggle to find a more immobile defender than Mark Hudson in the Stoke/Sunderland line ups.

Do you think your reserves are better than Sunderland?

Those playing TC, don't forget to click confirm. Don't want the mass panic like last season 😉
