As the official Fantasy Premier League version begun this week with over two million hopefuls, our very own Paddy Power Cup V was down the last 32. With no virtual coin toss nonsense to worry about here, let’s see how it panned out…

Top-score this week went to Mr Bungle, who battered Chris H 67 – 35. That was the widest margin of victory for the round by quite some distance.

In doubling his opponent’s score was, Declan came closest to that 32-point gulf, as he bossed lowest-scoring jinswick 44 – 22.

For the first time this season there wasn’t a single draw, with runty‘s 50 – 49 triumph over GreenWindmill the tightest affair.

Der-Hammer95 continued his fine form to reach the last 16 as the highest ranked fantasy manager in the tournament. His 54 – 38 drubbing of Peadarb was enough for another green arrow and 181st in the world.

The fixtures for the seventh round – taking place in Gameweek 19 – will be announced in due course, along with important Quarter-Final news.

Congratulations to this week’s winners, and commiserations to those leaving the competition at this stage.

Silva to Bale for the dgw, imo.. Wouldn't touch Roonpig or RVP plus you can always fix up Silva in the WC window after DGW..

You need a reshuffle when the WC comes in. I would leave it this week and see where Rooney plays, if he is deep then A. I wouldnt want to weaken the midfield further by taking out Silva and you need to upgrade Johnson. Moses is not a 4th midfielder

whoever reaches the final will have his PL game rescheduled, usually to mid week after the cup final.
But that depends on the european schedule. ( if Man city continues in the Europa league).

Liverpool have a 4 day break between games, most teams have just 2 days, so rotation could be a real possibility. KD should be reminded of this next time he starts whining about something.

Don't need the extra cash but just think that Valencia is more explosive and could get the bigger returns this week. Also Chelsea only have a one day gap between there 2 games so there could be a lot of rotation going on there.

Can't see Mata getting rotated personally as Chelsea need him, more likely to play 60 minute games imo. Valencia could play RB too so he is a slight risk there

Well Fergie doesn't have many options now Young is out until late January and Jones probably having to move back to defence.

Giggs can't play every game so you'd think Valencia is due to play most/all remaining games over the congested period - he's had enough rest with being on the bench until recently.

seen a lot of people saying you dont want to overload on dbl gwk players but evertons fixtures after the double are

    villa, BLACKBURN

and spurs have wolves at home straight after

makes it easy to shift them out as and when you need to. if they both had the manc clubs away the following week id agree but with the fixtures as they are i plan to have 3 spurs and 2 everton

+ 1 Unless Everton starts scoring tons of goals, keep clean sheets and in the next 6 GWs have 4 home games then maybe, just maybe, you can consider playing 2 Everton players in your team. There are better and cheaper options in other teams.

0.1 short for baines .... Expensive! or I would be getting rid of Enrique this week as Liverpool have a tough run without Suarez. Think baines will do well.

That's the ideal combination. A defender and a couple of attackers.BAE is a cheaper option though.

He' been really silent off late but we can never ever rule him out completely .We need to see his performance this week if there's a considerable improvement then we can surely reckon him too for the DGW.

    Thoughts for GW19?

    Vorm (Krul)
    Jones Enrique BAE
    Nani(v) Valencia Bale Walters
    RVP(c) Sturridge Adebayor

    Subs: Drenthe Brown Simpson

I did Silva > Valencia and Evans > BAE.
I think United have a lot of goals in them right through until I WC so thought I'd try and capitilise on it.
If City lose in the CC then Aguero will be my Man City attack for the rest of the season.

nice lineup... someone is going to have a picnic with Blackburn but 'who'... could be Berba with another set of pentuplets... like last year 🙂
I just wish i knew 100% if RVP will be given solid gametime...

Zol, think of it from Arsene's point of view. He's not going to want to deny RVP the chance of that calendar scoring record. It would be a major kick in the balls if he was to do that after how well RVP has been playing.

Of course Arsene has come out and said records don't matter, which he's bound to say. He's not going to say anything different. But he also wants to look after RVP's morale and denying him that chance would undoubtedly p1ss him off.

I think had RVP not been gunning for this record, he'd have started on the bench, but think it'll be the Fulham game where he's left out.

Planning Mata -> Bale for DGW which will leave me with 0.6 or 0.7m.

Should I do Hibbert -> BAE or Woodgate -> Gallas with the money?

    No hits required.

Tosey. Are you still around? As the king of the trebling up, what do you think of my wild card idea of trebling up on both Fulham/ Swansea defence and then having a big hitter (thinking big verm or kompany). They have great rotation.

Also, "my wife's team" is thinking of a new type of triple. Aguero, Balotelli and Dzjecko!! She likes to experiment. I have Silva, RVP, Adebayor and Ba in my team (or will have on wildcard), and we don't like to double up on the same player. This way she wouldn't have to worry about man city striker rotation. And they have great fixtures. She would make sure that she has a strong squad to cover when one of the strikers sits out completely. She doesn't mind a 20 minute cameo, and can cope with the odd 5 minute showing. What do you think? Captain choices would be a problem, but she will probably have Nani, so can always have aguero or nani at home. Also, this plan wouldn't work if they sign any more strikers. Is that a possibility this window?

    Cheers

the problem with fulham is the cost of their nailed-on defenders. only hangelaand and riise have been permanent fixtures this season and they cost 6.1 and 5.7m

im hoping senderos baird etc nail down a place over jan before i wildcard as im looking at similar, not with swansea tho

My first draft allowed my to get either riise/ haangerland with senderos/kelly/hughes/baird (depending on who is nailed on). With two from caulker/ rangel/ naylor, it still allows a pretty cheap defence. Add to that I've had Vorm since he was 4m and Schwarzer should drop a fair bit ove rthe next couple of weeks. Or even better, he stays injured and I can get stockdale!

Why not swansea? Who rotates better from the budget defences?

I'm sure most of you know, but no harm in repeating news sometimes.

Caulker (Swansea) can't play vs Spurs in GW19 due to them being the parent club

im getting rid this week, dont like his fixtures from now up until i wildcard

plus more chance of gaining the 0.1 back on wilkinson when he gets his place back in the stoke team. would need caulker to rise 0.2 to gain money on him
