Deadline passed, we’ve just the one match to distract us while we ponder the merits of our latest tinkerings. It’s off to Anfield for what is traditionally a cracker, as Liverpool face Newcastle – the Dugout Discussion chatroom is now open to soak up the match events as they happen…

The team news is in and there are few surprises amongst them. With Luis Suarez twiddling his thumbs after putting his one finger to use at Craven Cottage, Kenny Dalglish recalls Craig Bellamy in tandem with Newcastle old boy Andy Carroll. The script is there, can the big Geordie deliver?

Liverpool’s other change has Jay Spearing make a return, with Maxi Rodriguez making way. He joins Steven Gerrard on the bench.

As for Newcastle, they make just one change with Haris Vuckic drafted in for Leon Best who is amongst the subs. Demba Ba shakes off a “little knock” to his knee to lead the line, carrying the hopes of the travelling Magpies faithful and the expectations of plenty of Fantasy managers. Enjoy the game.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Neither. I would bet on both outscoring him regardless of an Everton DGW.

I'd say Mata, but it's a coin toss.

They've both got good short term fixtures, by the time Man Utd play Arsenal, we're well into WC teritory.

Right, pretty ok for the double game week, ade, bale and walker, plus jags from eve, but just looking at the possibility of moses to rodwell, what are the chances he'll be fit?! struggling with transfers, gained too much on most of my players to risk trasferring out at the mo, reducing my options!

Spurs DGW could be scuppered by the fixture schedule
theres only 1 days rest from Swansea away to WBA home - i think we will see Pav, Defoe, Pienaar, Sandra, Livermore, Kranjcar feature in the Wext Brom game, rests for Bale, VDV and Ade maybe

If I'd known that RVP would definitely play then I would have probably gone for him as captain rather than Nani but my thinking is similar to last week.

Utd likely to score more goals than Arsenal so just hoping Nani not only plays but actually gets involved this time!

Indeed. Plus my main rival captained him too and the RVP captainers are for the time being over 100 points behind so hopefully the only thing that will be punished (if anything) is rank.

The term Soccer is actually an English one that Americans have adopted...it comes from the slang used by public shoolboys at Eton at the end of the 19th century...they added an "Er" to everythings...so the waste paper basket became the "Wagger Pagger Bagger" and "Social Football" became "Soccer"

the name soccer is an abbreviation of "association football" which was used when standardised rules were drawn up and agreed upon in and round the 1870s

So I narrowed down my transfer options to two:

    1) Shawcross, Jose Enrique > De Laet, Baines
    2) Ruddy, Jose Enrique > Howard, Warnock

Option 1 leaves me with Ruddy/Krul in goal, but Baines can score big. What do you say?
