Deadline passed, we’ve just the one match to distract us while we ponder the merits of our latest tinkerings. It’s off to Anfield for what is traditionally a cracker, as Liverpool face Newcastle – the Dugout Discussion chatroom is now open to soak up the match events as they happen…

The team news is in and there are few surprises amongst them. With Luis Suarez twiddling his thumbs after putting his one finger to use at Craven Cottage, Kenny Dalglish recalls Craig Bellamy in tandem with Newcastle old boy Andy Carroll. The script is there, can the big Geordie deliver?

Liverpool’s other change has Jay Spearing make a return, with Maxi Rodriguez making way. He joins Steven Gerrard on the bench.

As for Newcastle, they make just one change with Haris Vuckic drafted in for Leon Best who is amongst the subs. Demba Ba shakes off a “little knock” to his knee to lead the line, carrying the hopes of the travelling Magpies faithful and the expectations of plenty of Fantasy managers. Enjoy the game.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

        Unfit.

        MLS season finished in October. He won't be match-fit tbh, I wouldn't.

            I meant November, yes you're right.

            However, my point remains, he will take time to get up to speed.

    ~~~ THE FANTABULOUS CONUNDRUM OF THE 9.0 OR UNDER MIDFIELDER ~~~
    Walcott/Arshavin/Arteta - Fulham, Swansea, MAN UTD, Bolton
    Osman/Drenthe/Donovan - BOLTON+Spurs, Villa, BLACKBURN, MAN CITY
    Dempsey - ARSENAL, Blackburn, NEWCASTLE, WEST BROM
    Milner - LIVERPOOL, Wigan, SPURS, Everton
    Thoughts: Dempsey seems the safe choice. But I'm tempted by Walcott who could get more game time with Gervinho (and Chamakh) away. And the Everton players have two games. Already have Bale: Options:
    A) Walcott for the next four weeks
    B) Osman for the DGW, then Dempsey
    C) Other?
            if you're looking at fixtures, dempsey is the best of that lot. he's not in bad form either.. and a decent differential. of course you could go cheaper then 9 too and improve the team elsewhere...
        That would be "mega" brave to go for such a differential. IMO he's out of Arsenal this January and he has nothing to offer to Arsenal these next few weeks. As an Arsenal fan I would be so relieved to see him signing for another club (most likely Zenith).
            Yes, Walcott is the man to consider as he has already played in almost every match. If Henry joins, he should replace Gervinho on the left wing and Walcott should remain his place on the right. I'm not convinced with his consistency though.
          Provided we buy a replacement, I wouldn't be upset to see the back of Arshavin.
          However, we are short in that department as it is. With Gervinho off to Africa, we'd only have Walcott, Benayoun and Ox-Chambo left.
      For me dempsey fixtures looks good. After this DGW has passed, might get him for those three GWs.
      Walcott has 3 away games and a UTD fixture inbetween. Cottage and Swansea are not easiest places to go.
        Arsenal 3rd and Spurs 5th eh? There's going to have to be some serious change in fortunes in the coming months. Like, mass plague in tottenham.
      Can't see City dropping that many points. They'll be first or second IMO.
          I'm no city fan but I'd have to disagree. Mancini's rotated his squad well so far, no injuries going into the Sunderland game tells a story.
      I would be looking to get Tottenham coverage, but if price rises arent a problem you can wait a week, but I'd want Bale and Ade/VDV/BAE
    Vrom (Ruddy)
    Jagielka Jones Raylor (Evans Wilkinson)
    Nani Mata Bale Tiote (Muamba)
    Ade RVP Sturridge
    Is it worth bringing in VDV for Double GW or bring in a Spurs defender?
    Evening gents,
    Got 2 FTs for the DGW. Here's the team:
    (Ruddy) - Vorm
    (Wilko) - (McAuley) - Raylor - Jones - Enrique
    (Allen) - Nani - Bale - Silva - Sess
    RVP - Ba - Ade
    £0.8m in the bank.
    I'm thinking Sess > Osman and Ba > Sturridge. Sound like a good plan? Or anyone got a better suggestion? Ta.
