Deadline passed, we’ve just the one match to distract us while we ponder the merits of our latest tinkerings. It’s off to Anfield for what is traditionally a cracker, as Liverpool face Newcastle – the Dugout Discussion chatroom is now open to soak up the match events as they happen…

The team news is in and there are few surprises amongst them. With Luis Suarez twiddling his thumbs after putting his one finger to use at Craven Cottage, Kenny Dalglish recalls Craig Bellamy in tandem with Newcastle old boy Andy Carroll. The script is there, can the big Geordie deliver?

Liverpool’s other change has Jay Spearing make a return, with Maxi Rodriguez making way. He joins Steven Gerrard on the bench.

As for Newcastle, they make just one change with Haris Vuckic drafted in for Leon Best who is amongst the subs. Demba Ba shakes off a “little knock” to his knee to lead the line, carrying the hopes of the travelling Magpies faithful and the expectations of plenty of Fantasy managers. Enjoy the game.

    Cahill could be a great pick if he looks like starting regularly. Similarly with Ruiz. Not sure about Gallas with TOT fixtures and rotation risk with King/Kaboul. Gerrard also a big gamble.
    I'd prefer Aguero over Rooney too with his fxtures.

Which is better for the DGW

A. Silva > VDV (result, Ade, Bale, VDV no Eve)
B Silva > Donavan, Gabbidon > BAE 4pt hit (Spurs: Ade, Bale, BAE. Eve: Donavan)
C Silva > Donavan, Gabbidon > Baines 4pt hit (Spurs: Ade, Bale. Eve: Baines, Donavan)

D. Any other?

  I wouldn't trade Silva for VDV, and I certainly wouldn't trade him for Donovan dgw or no dgw.

    Ah, but I got Silva at 10.4. Being late to the party on the Spaniard means I can be a bit freer with letting him go. Theres a good chance I can get him back after for exactly the same price I sell him for. He's definitely going for the double. But its more Hasta la Vista than Adios.

      I still wouldn't put Silva out for Donovan as he may not play and Silva will prob get more points in one game than Donovan with a dgw.

        Also with the wc coming up and Man C having a great run of games, Silva will be bought up (even more) and his price is sure to rise. I'll be putting my wc team in on wk 21 as you can be sure that there will be a .5 rise overall if you wait until wk 24.
        
        just wait for all the bleating on here about that. The board will be full of coulda, woulda, shoulda's.

My defense sucks, in fact I only have vermaelen.

Im about to get rid of adebayor (considering i dont have money in bank) and get Kompany and shotton and I replace Adebayor with Morison or someone else. Suggestions?

Transfer widow hypothetical...

If you're maxed out w/ 3 players from a team, then another player you own transfers to that team, what happens? (other than a rip in the space time continuum)

For instance, if you have Terry, Mata, and Sturridge, as well as Cahill...then Cahill transfers to Chelsea?

  Then you have 4 Chelsea players until you want to make a transfer. When you want to make a transfer, one transfer has to be spent getting rid of 1 of the 4.

  surman and ben arfa are risks. Norwich seems to be very unpredictable from one week to the next regarding team selection.
  
  Shotton is also risky imo. Excellent pick and value short term but not sure about further down the line.
  
  For me, my WC team with have no "risks" if possible. Such a waste when you eventually have to remove them.

    I went with RVP as captain. After pondering between him and Nani for ages, a poster on here said afterall it is just a game! So rather than fret about it i just went with RVP!
    Then again, who's to say RVP will score big?! It's not like those who went with Nani made a bad captain choice, both have very tasty fixtures...

  Looks good. Only question marks would be:
  
  1) Stockdale - Schwarzer is likely to be back by then so he'll likely lose his place.
  2) Senderos - is he nailed on? I assumed A Hughes would come straight back in at CB but he hasn't. One to watch.
  3) Shotton - rotation risk also?
  4) Helgusson - great fixtures but difficult to trade up when needed.

    It's only provisional so I can make changes to it, but I'll try to double up on Fulham and Stoke as they have good rotation and can get clean sheets against most team.

Got $100 on Stoke, Man.Utd, City, Chelsea and Arsenal to win for a $400 return....
I've been putting $100 down per week on the top 3 or 4 in an accumulator winning and won 9 weeks out of the last 11! Last week screwed me though because of all the draws....
Not that i am promoting gambling chaps, just putting my faith out there in the above results.... (hopefully!)

    Haha, will do mate, no problem!
    I've always had a bet at the weekend, used to just limit myself to 20-30 dollars per week, betting on much tougher fixtures for a high return.
    Then i just thought "stuff it" i'll put $100 down on three games, say City, United and Tottenham for around a double the amount in return, sometimes 3 times.
    Not saying it's completely foolproof though!

Any AV supporters know which defender I should pick for the next 4 games:

Dunne and Warnock have played every single minute of the season. Could be rested for a game considering its the middle of the season. Collins has knock. Hutton might loose his place to Cuellar.

Leaning towards Dunne or Warnock. Any thought which of these 2 players is a machine that does not need any rest.
