Following on from our first look at the minutes played over the international break, it’s now time check-in on the final ten clubs.

With domestic matters ready to recommence on Saturday, players who have featured on the other side of the world, particularly on either Tuesday night or the early hours of Wednesday morning, could well arrive back on our shores late and potentially fatigued.

That is a factor to consider as we plan for Gameweek 30, and the two that follow in quick succession. With that in mind, we take time out to review those involved over the international fixtures, assessing the likely impact on the weekend teamsheets and beyond.

Manchester United

Jose Mourinho is expected to be without defenders Phil Jones and Chris Smalling for the home clash against West Bromwich Albion, after the pair suffered injuries while on international duty with England. Marouane Fellaini will also have to be checked after picking up a toe problem for Belgium, while Sergio Romero, Marcos Rojo and Antonio Valencia will need to be assessed following the long flights back from South America.

David de Gea and Ander Herrera – Spain (24/03 (h) v Israel in Gijon and 28/03 (a) v France in Paris) – De Gea played all 180 minutes. Herrera was limited to 16 minutes off the bench in the 2-0 friendly win over France.
Sergio Romero and Marcos Rojo – Argentina (23/03 (h) v Chile in Buenos Aires and 28/03 (a) v Bolivia in La Paz) – Both Romero and Rojo played all 180 minutes.
Antonio Valencia – Ecuador (23/03 (a) v Paraguay in Asunción and 28/03 (h) v Colombia in Quito) – Played all 180 minutes.
Matteo Darmian – Italy (24/03 (h) v Albania in Palermo and 28/03 (a) v Holland in Amsterdam) – Was an unused substitute against Albania, before playing 89 minutes in the 2-1 friendly win over Holland.
Eric Bailly – Ivory Coast (24/03 (a) v Russia in Krasnodar and 27/03 (n) v Senegal in Paris) – Played the full 90 minutes in the 2-0 win over Russia, and 88 in Paris, before the match was abandoned.
Daley Blind – Holland (25/03 (a) v Bulgaria in Sofia and 28/03 (h) v Italy in Amsterdam) – Played the full 90 minutes in the 2-0 defeat to Bulgaria, and 83 minutes against Italy.
Luke Shaw, Chris Smalling, Phil Jones, Jesse Lingard and Marcus Rashford – England (22/03 (a) v Germany in Dortmund and 26/03 (h) v Lithuania in London) – Shaw was limited to just seven minutes in the 1-0 defeat to Germany. Smalling played 84 minutes in Dortmund, but had to withdraw from the squad due to a leg injury. Jones, meanwhile, suffered a foot injury at the hands of Smalling in a training session, forcing him to pull out of the squad before the Germany clash. Lingard only played 19 minutes against Germany, while Rashford came off the bench in both matches, playing 20 minutes against Germany, and 30 minutes at Wembley.
Marouane Fellaini – Belgium (25/03 (h) v Greece in Brussels and 28/03 (a) v Russia in Sochi) – Played 66 minutes against Greece, but was forced off with a toe injury, which saw the midfielder sit out the friendly with Russia.
Henrikh Mkhitaryan – Armenia (26/03 (h) v Kazakhstan in Yerevan) – Played the full 90 minutes, and scored in the 2-0 win.

Middlesbrough

Steve Agnew will need to check on Cristhian Stuani ahead of Sunday’s trip to Swansea City, although the extra days preparation should help the forward’s chances of being an option to start.

Cristhian Stuani – Uruguay (23/03 (h) v Brazil in Montevideo and 29/03 (a) v Peru in Lima) – Limited to just 32 minutes off the bench in the 4-1 defeat to Brazil.

Southampton

Maya Yoshida will discuss his fitness levels with manager Claude Puel before deciding whether will play Saturday’s home match against Bournemouth, with the centre-back certainly in line to be rested for one of Saints’ next three matches after playing 180 minutes for Japan. James Ward-Prowse and Nathan Redmond will be buoyed by making their senior England debuts in the 1-0 defeat to Germany.

Fraser Forster, Ryan Bertrand, James Ward-Prowse and Nathan Redmond – England (22/03 (a) v Germany in Dortmund and 26/03 (h) v Lithuania in London) – Forster was an unused substitute in both matches. Bertrand played 83 minutes in Dortmund, and the full 90 in the 2-0 win over Lithuania. Ward-Prowse and Redmond both made their England debuts against Germany, playing 24 and seven minutes respectively. Neither featured in the World Cup qualifier against Lithuania.
Maya Yoshida – Japan (23/03 (a) v UAE in Al Ain and 28/03 (h) v Thailand in Saitama) – Played all 180 minutes, and scored in the 4-0 win over Thailand.
Cedric Soares – Portugal (25/03 (h) v Hungary in Lisbon and 28/03 (h) v Sweden in Funchal) – Played the full 90 minutes in the 3-0 win over Hungary, but was an unused substitute in the 3-2 friendly defeat to Sweden.
Cuco Martina – Curacao (23/03 (h) v El Salvador in San Salvador) – 90 minutes
Sam McQueen and Jack Stephens – England (24/03 (a) v Germany in Wiesbaden and 27/03 (a) v Denmark in Randers) – McQueen played the full match against Denmark, while Stephens played 90 minutes in the 1-0 defeat to Germany.
Steven Davis – Northern Ireland (26/03 (h) v Norway in Belfast) – Played the full 90 minutes, and registered an assist in the 2-0 win.
Dusan Tadic – Serbia (24/03 (a) v Georgia in Tbilisi) – Played the full 90 minutes, and registered a goal and two assists in the 3-1 win.
Shane Long – Republic of Ireland (24/03 (h) v Wales in Dublin and 28/03 (h) v Iceland) – Played the full match against Wales, but only featured for 18 minutes as a substitute in the 1-0 friendly defeat to Iceland.

Stoke City

Ramadan Sobhi may face slightly limited preparation time for Saturday’s trip to Leicester City after playing in Egypt on Tuesday. Geoff Cameron may need to be checked, with the defender being troubled by a quad strain. Xherdan Shaqiri is also a concern after confirming he suffered a recurrence of a calf complaint while on duty for Switzerland.

Geoff Cameron – United States (25/03 (h) v Honduras in San Jose and 29/03 (a) v Panama in Ciudad de Panamá) – Played 59 minutes against Honduras before being substituted. Didn’t feature against Panama.
Bruno Martins Indi – Holland (25/03 (a) v Bulgaria in Sofia and 28/03 (h) v Italy in Amsterdam) – 180 minutes.
Joe Allen – Wales (24/03 (a) v Republic of Ireland in Dublin) – 90 minutes.

Mame Biram Diouf – Senegal (23/03 (n) v Nigeria in London and 27/03 (n) v Ivory Coast in Paris) – Played 90 minutes against Nigeria, but didn’t feature in Paris.

Sunderland

John O’Shea will need to be assessed ahead of the trip to Watford after picking up a shin injury during the goalless draw with Wales. Bryan Oviedo could face limited preparation time after playing for Costa Rica in Honduras on Tuesday, so he will also need to be monitored. Jermain Defoe will arrive back at the Stadium of Light in confident mood after netting on his return to the England fold.

Jordan Pickford – England U21 (24/03 (a) v Germany in Wiesbaden and 27/03 (a) v Denmark in Randers) – Played the full match against Germany, but didn’t feature against Denmark.

Ki Sung-yeung and Jefferson Montero will both face limited preparation time for Sunday’s home fixture against Middlesbrough, although they have returned to south Wales with no issues. Meanwhile star turn Gylfi Sigurdsson was left out of Iceland’s second international against Ireland and will have returned to the club well rested ahead of Saturday’s meeting with Middlesbrough.

Lukasz Fabianski – Poland (26/03 (a) v Montenegro in Podgorica) – 90 minutes.
Kristoffer Nordfeldt – Sweden (25/03 (h) v Belarus in Solna and 28/03 (a) v Portugal in Funchal) – Was an unused substitute in both matches.

Oliver McBurnie – Scotland U21 (28/03 (h) v Estonia in Paisley) – Started in the goalless draw.

Tottenham Hotspur

Vincent Janssen had to withdraw from the Holland squad after suffering a chest infection, but Mauricio Pochettino is hopeful the striker will be okay for Saturday’s trip to Burnley. The Spurs boss revealed Son Heung-min arrived back on Thursday, with the South Korean looking to lead the attack at Turf Moor in Harry Kane’s continued absence.

Hugo Lloris – France (25/03 (a) v Luxembourg in Luxembourg City and 28/03 (h) v Spain in Paris) – 180 minutes.
Michel Vorm and Vincent Janssen – Holland (25/03 (a) v Bulgaria in Sofia and 28/03 (h) v Italy in Amsterdam) – Vorm was an unused substitute in both matches. Janssen had to withdraw from the squad due to a chest infection.

Watford

Only Sebastian Prodl played more than 90 minutes among Watford’s international contingent, so the defender may be considered for a rest at some point over the next three Gameweeks.

West Bromwich Albion

Salomon Rondon will face limited preparation time for the trip to Old Trafford, and given his recent poor form, Hal Robson-Kanu is the favourite to lead the Baggies’ attack against Manchester United. Tony Pulis has also hinted at rotation due to the busy upcoming schedule, with Nacer Chadli and James McClean perhaps vulnerable after featuring prominently for Belgium and Republic of Ireland respectively.

Gareth McAuley, Jonny Evans and Chris Brunt – Northern Ireland (26/03 (h) v Norway in Belfast) – All three completed the full 90 minutes in the 2-0 win over Norway, with Brunt supplying an assist.

Think about a future plan for Sanchez maybe instead of Mane/Firmino.
I'd get Gibson instead of Brunt.

      Hey Buddy

Be thinking Brunt -> Valencia might be nice. But you have a decent enough line up this week to not bother, and roll the FT for midweek when you can execute some sort of Sanchez plan (presumably?)

Don't really have a plan to bring him in.
I really want to go with two pool mid, but if i want to replace one of them, it would be mane straight swap. Replace brunt with Yoshida.

Sound. If you can do Brunt -> Yoshi which allows for Mane-> Sanchez in 31 then that sounds great.

I can do mane -----> sanchez wihout doing any other transfers.
In a dillema whether to go with 3-5-2 or 3-4-3

Think either is ok for now, but once Kane returns in 33/34, plus the probable need for Ibra in 34, means you might well want to have 3-4-3 eventually.

Sticking my neck out here, but I'm very confident in Boro scoring versus Swansea. The gameplan put simply will surely be to cut off the Siggy supply line go for it. Anything less than a win is of little use so Swansea defenders watch out. (Plus I had a dream that de Roon got a 3-3 equaliser in the 83rd minute and woke my girlfriend up with a 'wow' as I woke up. The explanation left her somewhat bemused as it was 4am but it really felt like we'd go on to win!)

Had Amat in my team for the majority of the year.

      He did not score.

Well I had a dream once about Willian last season(not that sort of dream you pervs...:P)

Chelsea won 1-0 he scored a winning goal, got a bonus etc

Funny thing he actually scored a day later in their game, score was 2-0 if I recall correctly but he got similar returns 🙂

Hahaha. The detail of it was remarkable, as he cut inside and jumped a tackle i'm thinking 'go down, go down' but then sent a torpedo into the top corner.

He's staying benched however. For de Roon to get a third goal, that means Boro scoring twice before and we all know.....

    What's the verdict on Tadic?
3 great fixtures with the potential for big returns at a low price?
Or too much of a rotation risk?

Does this mornings fixture date change indicate ARS SOU DGW35?

    Thinking WC GW35...

    GW36 fixture changes:
    LIV SOU moved Sat>Sun
    ARS MAN moved Sat>Sun
    (CHE MID moved Sat>Mon)

Chelsea fixtures postponed by 2 days. Could that mean Chelsea DGW in 35?

Finally got my WC team lined up:
    Valdes Pickford
    Alonso Valencia Davies Yoshida Fabio
    Eriksen Son Mane Siggy King
    Lukaku Vardy Deeney

    2.8itb

Mane can make way for Sanchez after the next two, and Vardy may become Ibra for the double and Kane when he's back.

Thoughts? Maybe I should just swap Mane for Sanchez now directly?

Yeah, Eriksen has the best stats and did the best of the other Spurs players when Kane was out the last time.
(Also was burned by my choice of Alli last time, so that may be having an emotional effect).

Did that once. Think he managed an assist. Was hoping for double figs. Kind of swore afterwards I wouldn't captain him again but this week there's no one obvious. Even Costa against Palace isn't guaranteed returns.

Go with your gut. Or toss a coin - if you can find a four-sided one.

Gabbi has some tough fixtures if he isn't fit by let's say this week, he still has to face Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, United & City.

    Reposting to canvass more views:

    Ugly team, I know. Can't decide if I take a further hit (Coleman>Valencia / Kun>Vardy already done)

    Jaku / Randolph
Brunt Alonso Pieters Valencia / RFM*
Siggy Mane Eriksen / Fletcher Antonio*
    Kaku Llorente Vardy (c)

Is it worth a -8 to do Antonio -> Sanchez this week? (I took Kun out to afford the straight swap)

Or wait til midweek and do it for a -4 instead? I'll also be doing RFM -> Bavies at that point.

    Thanks!

Haven't done it yet, but I prefer Vardy / Sanchez / Siggy to Kun / Sanchez / JWP, which I'd have to do if I keep Kun.

All fine margins at this point.

Yeah I'm erring towards not taking the -8 here, I feel like post-IB is always low scoring so can't hurt too much to be fielding defenders with on-paper poor games.

      Hi Dingo

      Yep, very good indeed.

Be tempted to captain Siggy of that lot, but I have a big aversion to early captaincy which is swaying my advice - assuming you don't have that problem, so maybe Kaku/Mane worth consideration?

Surprised to see Aguero so low on the captain poll he currently has the armband for me. I own 3 of the players above him in the poll (Siggy, Mane Kaku) why do people not like him against a poor looking arsenal defense? Every time i've gone majorly against the poll this year it has backfired on me so interested to hear peoples thinking. Alonso is currently my vice
