Earlier this lunchtime, the Premier League confirmed new dates for a number of fixtures, allowing Fantasy managers the chance to fine-tune their wildcard plans for the run-in.

Double Gameweek 36

Arsenal – Man United (H), Southampton (A)
Southampton – Liverpool (A), Arsenal (H)

Only two teams – Southampton and Arsenal – have been handed a double Gameweek 36 after their head-to-head, which was postponed due to the former’s progress to the EFL Cup final, was shifted to Wednesday, May 10.

Claude Puel’s men hardly have the easiest of schedules, with a testing weekend trip to Liverpool before entertaining the Gunners.

Similarly, Arsenal host Man United in the weekend prior to making their way to St Mary’s.

Double Gameweek 37

Arsenal – Stoke (A), Sunderland (H)
Chelsea – West Brom (A), Watford (H)
Leicester – Man City (A), Spurs (H)
Manchester City – Leicester (H), West Brom (H)
Manchester United – Spurs (A), Southampton (A)
Southampton – Middlesbrough (A), Man United (H)
Sunderland – Swansea (H), Arsenal (A)
Spurs – Man United (H), Leicester (A)
Watford – Everton (A), Chelsea (A)
West Bromwich Albion – Chelsea (H), Man City (A)

With ten teams set to play twice in Gameweek 37, this, as expected, offers a prime opportunity to use the remaining chips.

Obviously you are unable to play two chips in the same Gameweek, so if you are wildcarding in Gameweek 36 to set up your squad for Gameweek 37, it’s worth remembering that you cannot then also use a Triple Captain or Bench Boost in Gameweek 36.

Dealing the second wildcard in Gameweek 36 to catch the early potential offered by Arsenal and Southampton, then following it up with a Bench Boost or Triple Captain chip in the next Gameweek, looks the best solution.

In terms of the teams involved, the Gunners go to Stoke before welcoming Sunderland to the Emirates in Gameweek 37, while the Saints travel to Middlesbrough prior to facing Man United at St Mary’s.

Despite his recent drought, Alexis Sanchez is likely to find a place in many second wildcard teams, though non-owners may now choose to overlook him until the Gunners’ two pairs of fixtures, focusing their short-term plans instead on double Gameweek 34 attackers from Man United and Palace.

At 5.1, the likes of James Ward-Prowse could emerge as a decent midfield enabler, while the fitness of Manolo Gabbiadini will also play a part in our thinking.

For those looking to load up on Arsenal and Southampton for their back-to-back doubles, it’s worth bearing in mind that they also offer home matches in Gameweek 38, entertaining Everton and Stoke respectively.

Chelsea will now travel to West Brom before hosting Watford on Monday May 15, while the Hornets have consecutive road trips for their double Gameweek 37, with a visit to Everton preceding their Stamford Bridge encounter.

Crucially, moving the Chelsea v Watford match to that Monday evening has had a significant impact on the Gameweek 37 deadline.

Essentially, Gameweek 37 will now get underway on the evening of Friday, May 12, when West Brom host Chelsea and Everton entertain Watford. The deadline – an hour before the first match gets underway –will be 6.45pm.

Man City, meanwhile, are the only side set to play twice in front of their own supporters, with clashes against Leicester and West Brom on the agenda for Pep Guardiola’s side.

Having scored in each of the last four Gameweeks, Sergio Aguero will stake a claim for consideration here but – as we saw in the case of Raheem Sterling, who was rested for the second match of double Gameweek 27 – Pep’s tinkering could prove a spanner in the works.

For Man United, this means that all four of their matches across double Gameweek 34 (Burnley, Man City) and Gameweek 37 are away from home.

While those extra fixtures heighten the appeal of Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who has scored ten of his 17 goals on the road, the veteran has still offered more threat in front of his own fans, firing an effort every 18 minutes at Old Trafford compared with 30 minutes away.

Encouragingly for those eyeing up their backline, Jose Mourinho’s men have chalked up six of 12 clean sheets on the road this season – indeed, United have conceded less away goals (13) than any other side.

In spite of the Red Devils’ fine away record, faith in Spurs’ trio Harry Kane, Dele Alli and Christian Eriksen is likely to remain resolute as they welcome United to the Lane before heading off to Leicester in the final fixture of Gameweek 37.

As always, we’ll look to publish ‘Scouting the Doubles’ articles assessing the prospects in greater detail in the build-up to each double Gameweek.

For now, this is just a heads-up. Enjoy tinkering..

Which one of these would you get rid of for GW34 and 35 only if you had to?

    Sanchez (LEI, tot)
    Alli (cpl, ARS)
    Lukaku (whm, CHE)

Is everyone with their TC and BB intact, still using the TC in 36 and BB in 37? Those DGW fixtures for 36 are not tempting at all and BB might be used in 34 instead if you want to play TC in 37?

BB has to be 37 surely? TC can be either 34 or 36, but maximising those points of the bench is vital. More points available in a BB than a TC if done properly.

Great help received above in my last comment, however, wanted to show my team as I have already used my wildcard. I'm top of all my leagues but not by much. What should my plan be for the next few weeks (who needs to go / come in)

    Valdes (Pickford)
    Gibson, Valencia, Holgate (McAuley, Yoshida)
    Haz, Eriksen, Alli, Coutinho (Sane)
    Lukaku, Carroll, Origi

I'm thinking all 3 strikers will need to be changed after GW 34 and probably lose Coutinho for Walcott / Sanchez

    Thanks again

Really wouldn't get rid of Lukaku, he's one of the SGW players who won't leave my team on WC, fixtures in 36 and 37 are very good.

There's a few natural replacements which is good in your team, Gabbi for Carroll/Origi for example. Will take a bit of planning without WC but the core of the team is there.

Surely Arsenal and the Saints will rotate having got back to back doubles? this is gonna be some serious bother for us lot I think.. Well me anyway having invested fairly heavily in both on my WC.. Oh well 😀

Sanchez as poor as he's been, is he really going to be an essential when there's no way he's going to play 4 games on the bounce.

Ive listed my wants for the 37 and the BB week.

    Foster - GOT
    Pickford - NEED
    Baines - GOT
    Gibson - GOT
    Azpi - GOT
    Walker - GOT
    Valencia - NEED
    Sane - NEED
    Navas - NEED
    Walcott - GOT
    Alli - GOT
    Ward Prowse - NEED
    Costa - GOT
    Gabbiadini - NEED
    Aguero - NEED

Plan to only go into 37 with a -4 hit.

Captain choice will obviously make the difference. I reckon we'll see a 200 point GW.

Are the GW35 fixtures more suited to a GW34 team or a post WC GW36?

At first glance the NLD in GW35 and Palace's strong fixture would suggest it is more suited to a GW34 team; do people agree with this?

Might revert to TC Zlatan GW34 after all...

Triple Man U and double Palace for GW34 gives you 5 players with great fixtures for GW35 for starters. Should be able to make a decent XI with the rest, and an FT. Can't imagine it will be a worse team than a GW36 WC team effectively playing in GW35, but I guess will need to be tested! GW36 WC gives you that vital extra week of info too to see which teams are still playing for something.

TCing Alexis would lead to me having to move the WC back to 35 which at first glance would seem to weaken my GW35 team and as you say take a weeks knowledge away from me.

Zlatan looking the better option right now.

Don't fancy King at all against Spurs, pretty certain on this move though, as an owner I must admit that he got lucky against Chelsea and Pool

Totally, for a fifth mid at least this makes sense.. Lukaku at his price though, that's tougher. Could Gabriel Jesus be back by then?

I'm seriously thinking of going for Anichebe myself mind for a 3rd striker.. I laugh just writing it

So Ibra Kane Anichebe.. Don't look right does it? 😀

There are just sooo many options, I'm thinking of going Lukaku Kane Gabbiadini, if you are playing 352, Anichebe surely is a good option

Oh I'm getting Gabbi for the doubles then will likely downgrade him to Anichebe.. Thinking being to get in Hazard and Sanchez? things could change though as they always do.

The ideal strike force could be complicated with ibra, lukaku, aguero, jesus, kane and costa/batshuayi all potential options

This could be dependent on whether Sanchez gets played up top again also?.. Haz and Sanchez really do complicate things even more

Still, can't decide and don't fancy both (last time it didn't end well).

    Benteke or Zaha for GW33, 34 + 35?

    Without a WC.

And based on fixtures alone rather than potential injuries etc.
On who...and when are people laying out the TC?

Im stumped: I think Kane this week is a good shout, but on a DGW im gonna go with Hazard in 37

Im playing BB in 37, and I don't have Hazard anyway. Im just curious as to which player and when do people think is the diamond TC. Ive never had any success with it.

GW winner last week TC'd SON at got 57 points. Those are the dreams man!

If Arsenal & Sanchez return to form this week, then I'll go Sanchez TC 36 if I had the chip.

Those considering triple United, they have 4 games in space of 10 days. Expect heavy rotation, especially to keep players fresh for Europa.

not even De Gea nailed. I think Valencia when fit is a decent shout. And maybe Rojo

    Good day everyone,

    Foster (Jaku)
    Alonso Walker Fernandez (Nyom Funes*)
Sanchez Siggy King Alli (De Roon)
    Kun Lukaku Llorente

    1 FT 0.3 ITB.

    A. Mori > Yoshida
    B. Kun > Kane (C)
    C. Save FT, do Kun+Funes+Siggy > Ibra, Gibson and Zaha (-4) for 34

If you are wildcarding in 35 like me does the double gameweek news change much as we already knew which teams had doubles or are you starting to buy some Southampton for example as their prices will rise ?

Jaysus my head is sore aftr that article. The Chelsea dgw in against west brom and Watford would be perfect use of hazard TC but of course the BB chip is the better option for that gw I presume??

Certainly needs a lot of planning. If we knew Sanchez was up top and firing it would be easier to use TC then even tho fixtures are great.

Gw 35 probably. Only ones I'm looking to bring in for gw 34 besides the ones I already have, are Zaha and Ibra. Can get both in with 2FT until then.
