Gameweek 36 finally comes to an end this evening as Southampton entertain Arsenal at St Mary’s.

Alexis Sanchez will again be the focus of most managers’ attentions. Sitting in over 27% of FPL squads, the Chilean was the most captained player (11.2%) in the round of fixtures but a blank at home to Man United in his first match of Double Gameweek 36 means he has now netted just once in seven league appearances.

Meanwhile, his team-mate Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain looks to add to a pair of assists in the 2-0 weekend win over Jose Mourinho’s side. The Gunners’ wing-back has been drafted in by over 15,000 FPL managers this week for a Double Gameweek 37 against Stoke and Sunderland.

For the Saints, Manolo Gabbiadini was the fourth most transferred in player ahead of last week’s deadline, with over 108,000 taking the plunge.

Yet a blank against Liverpool took his run to one assist in five, as Claude Puel’s defence racked up the points at Anfield instead thanks to a fourth clean sheet in seven.

Thanks to his spot-kick stop away to Liverpool, the Saints’ Fraser Forster leads the way among the Double Gameweek contingent on 16 points ahead of tonight’s 7.45pm encounter.

Alright lads lets make a decision on this one: Gibbs or Holding?

When it comes to down it, Monreal's position decides this one

      Holding is safer.

I'm not saying he'll play two games but Monreal goes to LWB imo when Kosc returns

Seen a post saying that earlier and I agree. Kos back then its Kos, Must, Hold, with Monreal LWB imo

    4. Rainer
      • 9 Years

I think Gibbs stays. Monreal being left footed on the left in a back 3 is a big deal!

      1. Ibracadabra
        • 16 Years
        8 years, 7 months ago

Gibbs doesn't look great going forward though and Monreal is both better defending and going forward than him wide.

    5. The Doc
      • 9 Years
      8 years, 7 months ago

Gibbs has played in the last 4, 3 of which ended in cleansheets. Can't see him getting dropped to be honest.

      1. ★Kuntheman★
        • 10 Years
        8 years, 7 months ago

This is the logic that makes the most sense to me. Holding's only started twice in that period.

        1. Ibracadabra
          • 16 Years
          8 years, 7 months ago

Or maybe they both keep positions and Mustafi goes to the bench but that's doubtful.

    6. SouthCoastSaint
      • 14 Years

Holding over Gibbs imo. Possibility of Koscielny not being risked/cup final, mustafi being rested as only just returned from injury and Monreal would def play LwB ahead of Gibbs even if Kosc returned (imo)

Have not watched many SWA matches since I sold Siggy / Llorente a few weeks ago but when I did watch them he did not pass the eye test for me and never looked a complete forward. If something has changed in form or formation, perhaps, but I would not expect much.

    Caballero/Cech

    Monreal - Alonso - Vertongen - Stephens - Ake

    Sanchez - Hazaard - Sane - King - Alli

    Kane - Jesus - Gabb

Any changes? 30 points up in the mini and rival only has Alli and Gabbiadini as the same player from my team. Vardy is his differential but not much else to worry about really.

I'm tempted to get KdB in for Sane which means I would have to drop Haz for Pedro/Fab... Or Costa in for Kane and Yoshi in for Ake?

Grass is always greener thing going on atm. the .1 tonight doesn't make a difference and the team is solid

BB enabled and 13.5 startes.. Ake may sneak a game if the league is tied up but not hoping too much. 13 proper doublers should do the trick and give me 2 ft for gw38

But I can't help thinking Kdb or Costa will smash it!

Huffed and puffed, was disappointed with some of the end product / decision of Ramsey and Ozil when he was in good areas, but always looked dangerous against a pretty well drilled and organised side, so I think he is very captain worthy. Straight shot between Jesus and Sanchez IMO for potential explosiveness.
