FFS Cup

The FFS Cups – Finals

The final Gameweek of the season sees the conclusion of our two Premier League cup competitions. Here we reveal who has made it through the finals as well as the managers competing in the third place play-off matches.

K3lviN took giant killing to new levels to book his seat in our open to all cup final, after seeing off 134 ranked Live Hall of Fame top ten manager My Pretty Pony (aka Peter Kouewenberg). This 80,381 ranked manager’s sensational score of 199 proved too much for Peter’s 180 return in Gameweek 37.

He will meet another Goliath in the final after 740 ranked Sleepysi defeated Choppers13 in his semi-final.

Of the pair K3lviN has the experience of pressure, having finished 2012/13 second in the overall rankings. Sleepysi’s top 10,000 ranking in 2013/14 also means he is no stranger to impressive end of season runs.

In terms of key differentials, Sleepysi has Spurs’ Christian Eriksen, who should start away to Hull City on Sunday after was rested against Leicester City last night. He will also be hoping for an Arsenal clean sheet, at home to Everton, with Petr Cech expected to be fielded by Sleepysi alongside Nacho Monreal, who is owned by both.

For K3lviN he has Southampton’s Nathan Redmond, Leroy Sane of Manchester City and Spurs full-back Ben Davies as his main differentials.

Chelsea’s teamsheet could prove decisive, with Sleepysi stocked up with Eden Hazard, Marcos Alonso and Pedro, while his opponent has Cesar Azpilicueta as well as the Blues’ Belgian schemer.

With two free transfers to play it remains to be seen whether they will make dramatic changes. Philippe Coutinho may be one key target ahead of Liverpool’s home clash with Middlesbrough. The Brazilian could also offer a strong differential armband option.

With a £200 Amazon voucher to the winner and £100 to the runner-up, risks may need to be taken.

There’s a £50 voucher up for grabs for the winner of Choppers13 and My Pretty Pony’s third place play off.

In the Members Cup aspern goes through the final by the closest of margins, with his 2890 rank proving the difference after both he and his 4120 placed semi-final opponent Dynamic scored 175.

He will meet 8122 ranked Malaikat Jahad, who had a far easier semi-final, seeing off Barwood 196-171.

Of the Members Cup’s two finalists, Malaikat is the more seasoned veteran, with two top 10,000 finishes in his previous nine seasons. In contrast, aspern is in his third campaign and has yet to finish in the top 100,000.

Both only have one transfer to play and aspern may be tempted to use it to ditch Southampton’s misfiring striker Manolo Gabbiadini, who netted zero points in double Gameweek 37 after a no-show and missed penalty. Aspern’s key differentials include Chelsea’s Eden Hazard, Eriksen, Bournemouth’s in-form midfielder Josh King and Leicester City’s Marc Albrighton.

For Malaikat he will be hoping his differentials Chelsea’s Cesc Fabregas, Manchester City’s Kevin De Bruyne and Tottenham duo Heung-Min Son, and Dele Alli will be more than a match.

As with our open to all contest, the winner of this final will scoop a £200 Amazon voucher, with £100 going to the runner up.

A £50 voucher is available to the winner of Barwood and Dynamic’s play off.

Good luck to all those involved and if you would like more information on the schedule and prizes click this link.

      I was 75+ 3 weeks ago and am 22 ahead now 🙂

The most I ever done on the final day was 29 points which included a Walcott (c) hattrick

Chasing rival by 29 points who has kane

KDB vardy to Kane and coutinho -4

leaves me with only 3 players the same (eriksen jesus kane)

would you still bring kane in

    Cech (willy)
    alonso holding stephens (yosh holgate)
    eriksen sanchez KDB fabregas (king)
    vardy costa jesus

Normally yes. But Leicester have a lot to play for now - they won't want a 6-1 thrashing to define their season end.

This is true so would you gamble on a poor hull keeping kane quiet? or bring him in and captain someone he aint got like alonso or sanchez

I think there is a chance Kane goes off shortly after half with maybe one goal after Poch sees Kaku blank and Golden Boot rapped up. You need a Hail Mary so Sanchez and Coutinho and maybe Studge or Firmino are essential if he doesn't have them. You need a Hail Mary!

        foster
        luiz azpi bailly
        eriksen alli kdb sane
        kane jesus rashford/vokes

hoping luiz and maybe alli get rotated and with him having no sanchez or chelsea attacker maybe slim hope..

      • 10 Years
      7 years, 10 days ago

I kind of agree with Jallegre and the Hail Mary - 29 is a lot to make up in one week. You just have to accept the situation and pray in regards to Kane at this point. Captaining Alonso won't help you because he has 2 Chelsea defenders.

I'm more worried about you having Costa - his minutes and commitment. I would consider something like throwing the dice on a Vardy or Coutinho (c), bringing in Origi/Sturridge, and maybe Coutinho for Erikson (and do some more praying). You need a high risk strategy (is this ML league for money BTW?). I don't think you can take more than a -4 at this point (if that).

      1. Rash
        • 7 Years
        7 years, 10 days ago

yes its for money and selling kane for costa last gw has cost me dearly i could just roll the dice ditch kdb as he has him for son or coutinho/firmino and stick the armband on 1 of them and hope kane dont do too much damage and vardy finally shows up

Funny how people want him in now he's playing deeper. It'll be a cagey game anyway, I don't think we'll batter Boro

Liverpool have struggle against poor teams all season and before the West ham game were looking absolutely devoid of ideas. Will be a pressure game on sunday. Can't see it being a hammering, as much as I don't rate boro.

    Alonso v Sunderland (h)
    Monreal v Everton (h)
    Davies v Hull (a)
    Stephens v Stoke (h)
    Yoshida v Stoke (h)

    Which 2 would you bench?

Currently benching both of the Southampton boys.

Hey guys have 2 FT and AOA remaining

    Caballero
    Cahill Davies Montreal
    Hazard Sanchez Eriksen King Pedro
    Kane Jesus

Pickford Yoshida Stephens Anichebe 0.0 ITB

Hazard and Anichebe to Coutinho and Llorente and AOA?

    Look Good?

    A. Coutinho, Costa, Milner
    B Coutinho , Llorente, Alli
    C. Wijnaldum, Giroud, Alli

I think this shows how confused my thinking is ATM.

    B Alli to Coutinho

I did A and think I now have to stick with Alli ... the upside of A was that I could bring in Azpi for Stephens
I feel a lot happier with Coutinho / Azpi than Hazard / Stephens

    Alonso Yosh Holding
    Sanchez Hazard KDB Eriksen King
    Kane(c) Jesus

    Which move looks better folks
    a) Caballero->Heaton
    B) Yosh->Matip
    C) Hazard->Coutinho
    D) Hazard->Cesc, Anichebe->Sturridge (-4)

I wouldn't drop KDB ... he's one of my captain options

You're 1M short for Vardy > Kane .... so why not d/grade Cech and play Willy ... that should cover the difference
Not sure I would want two Ars defenders against Everton - I am going to play Heaton in goal in preference to Cech

I watch every episode of Let's Talk FPL and really enjoy it, but I must say it was better with Luke on as well.

I've thought about having people on for a while but sometimes it's just a lot less hassle to go on myself and not have to plan around others.

I enjoyed tonight though so expect to see more of that next season, perhaps with more people, although I don't want to lose the format of discussion based on the chat primarily.
