With the elongated Gameweek 20 finally sewn up, it’s time to look ahead to the weekend action. For eight fantasy managers, that means Quarter-Final time in the Paddy Power Cup V. Having battled through eight stages, they are just one win away from the prize-winning games. Here is the line-up…

At the time of writing, first out of the hat Sc8tt26 is the highest-ranked fantasy manager left, and is the only one in the top 1000 overall. If he’s considered the top-seed, then he’s been drawn against the second in Funkyav. Was it not for an abysmal Gameweek 20 score, the tables would be turned and Funkyav would be the man to beat.

Declan faces-off against Raasclart, whilst the last round’s top-scorer, CSKA AWFUL, takes on sleepingmaster. Finally, having reached the Quarters by the skin of his teeth, ChickenDevil comes up against soulman27.

    70pts without BAE... think I dodged a bullett somewhat thanks to Dyer + Naylor, though plenty of 80pts+ scores behind me in all mini-leagues. Could have been a lot worse had I gone Ade(c) over Bale as originally planned.

    Anyway onto my question, need a 8.2m or under 1 week punt on a midfielder, already have Silva / VDV / Bale Dyer, and selling Drenthe. Thoughts?

      It doesn't answer your question, but if there's a way of finding an extra £0.3m for Dempsey it could be worth it, even for a hit in my opinion.

      Honestly, I have no idea!

      Romeu and Ramires are our two best midfielders, by some distance, right now, but I just think that a midfield three of Romeu-Essien-Ramires would desperately lack creativity, so one of them would probably have to make way.

      He may even play right back.

        the loan system needs to be looked at. surely only young players should be able to go on loan.

        If City continue to buy more players and loan out their older ones then you could have a situation where every team in the premiership had a city player on their books that could score against all other teams other than City.

        I dont see Santon as a better pick that Simpson.

        Santon is injury prone, adjusting to new league and has only played 1 or 2 times. lots of potential but I would leave for now.

        Williamson and Simpson are far stronger picks as at that price they can be a bench player but you need to know they will play every week

    Thinking of having this as a WC team when I play my WC.

    Schwarzer/Stockdale, Krul
    Vermaelen, Senderos, Kelly, Santon, Clark
    HBA, McClean, Silva, Mata, Bale
    Sturridge, RVP, Rooney

    Either that or swap Rooney for Aguero, and Kelly for another defender.
