Alexis Sanchez will sit out Arsenal’s season opener against Leicester City, but Mesut Ozil is expected to be available. Gareth McAuley is sidelined for West Bromwich Albion’s trip to Bournemouth, who are missing Junior Stanislas. Meanwhile, Cedric Soares’ fitness will be monitored as Southampton prepare to host Swansea City.

Arsene Wenger will be without the suspended Laurent Koscielny for tonight’s home clash against Leicester City, while Alexis Sanchez is also absent due to an abdominal injury.

There are also a number of doubts, including Mesut Ozil (ankle), Aaron Ramsey (calf), and Shkodran Mustafi (lack of match fitness), though Ozil confirmed he returned to full training yesterday and appears to have a good chance of starting.

Leicester City trio Robert Huth (ankle), Danny Drinkwater (thigh), Vicente Iborra (groin) will all miss the trip to the Emirates. Kelechi Iheanacho has shaken off a minor toe problem, though, while Islam Slimani is also available after recovering from a gashed leg.

Gareth McAuley (thigh) and James Morrison (knee) will both miss the visit of Bournemouth to the Hawthorns, but Jonny Evans (hamstring), Nacer Chadli (hip), Chris Brunt (calf) should be available.

Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe revealed that Junior Stanislas is out for out to a month due to a groin injury. Steve Cook and Jermain Defoe are expected to be contention for the visitors.

Troy Deeney is a doubt for Watford’s home encounter against Liverpool, having only been able to take a limited part in training prior to today due to a groin problem.

Ross Barkley (groin) and James McCarthy (knee) will both miss Everton’s home meeting with Stoke City, though Wayne Rooney will start for the Toffees, manager Ronald Koeman has confirmed.

Earlier this morning, Stoke City manager Mark Hughes confirmed that he hopes to have defender Bruno Martins Indi on board in time for the Goodison trip.

Virgil van Dijk is unavailable for Southampton’s home encounter with Swansea due to illness. Meanwhile, the fitness of right-back Cedric Soares will be monitored after he arrived back late for pre-season due to international duties with Portugal.

Tammy Abraham looks set to be available for Swansea City’s trip to St Mary’s following a minor groin issue but fellow frontman Fernando Llorente misses out with an arm complaint.

A 'flip a coin' kind of question...
J Rodriguez or Gayle for 3rd FWD alongside Lukaku & Kane?
Both have decent fixtures (after Wk1 for Gayle)

Gayle will be rotated so I would go with Rodriguez.

I was inclined towards Rodriguez but didn't realise Galye was a rotation risk?

Pulis attacker vs a Championship goal scorer, im not sure, probably J Rod just because he is capable. Gayle seems to struggle in the PL, though he's often a sub so maybe with guaranteed game time he will come good?

Any Liverpool fans think with Coutinho out they wont have that creative edge? Seemed to struggle last season when he got injured, couldnt really score goals or produce the high end attack theyre known for, the Sunderland game for instance ended 0-0

Yes, they'll just go down the wing = more Salah/Mane involvement.

Sunderland games last season were 2-0 at Anfield and 2-2 at SOL so not sure which game you're thinking of. Mané was the bigger loss last season though be honest. Coutinho is obviously a big miss given his quality but Liverpool didn't struggle to score goals at any point last season really regardless of who played.

Sorry, i thought it was Sunderland where Coutinho got injured 20mins into the game with the ankle collision? Actually if it was Sunderland then maybe you're right, i remember Origi coming on and scoring towards the end.

So would you recommend starting with one of Mane/Salah? Even without Cout?

Yeah you're thinking of the Sunderland game. Coutinho went off after 20 mins but Origi & Milner scored late on. Sunderland absolutely parked the bus that day and still got beat, it was embarrassing.

I'd recommend Mané & Salah regardless of who else is playing, they're always going to be so dangerous. Mané in particular - if funds can allow, he's the top asset to have.

I agree, both have looked insane in pre-season and Mane has always been such a threat, unfortunately cant find the 0.5m for Mane so will go with Salah.

Was injured a bit in pre season, so he will likely take some time to get going. Also, west brom doesn't score much and he was quite lucky last year with to get that many assists.

    GK: Foster - eliott
DF: Valencia - Cedric - Luiz - Mee - Rosenior
Mid: Salah - Redmond - William - KDB - Mkhitaryan
    FWD: Lukaku, King, Rodriguez

    What do you think?

    Kompany Lindelof Ake Cedric

    De Bruyne Eriksen Pogba

    Lukaku Jesus King

I've been hesitating so long between JRod and Mounié for my third striker slot and I still can't decide who to pick.
Mounié has done well in pre season against mostly low quality opposition, he seems to be more of a physical striker who mostly scores headers. Will he be a success in the PL where most defenders know how to defend physical strikers like him? Not sure.
JRod is a technically gifted player, but he playes for a team I fully expect to struggle in front of goal this season.
Anyone got any additional comments or suggestions?

No. Competition from Ibe, Smith, and later Stanislas when he is back. I do think Fraser will start, but he is far from nailed.

No. He is likely to be a bench player again behind Kante and Bakayoko. But he will play the first match and maybe the second too.

How would you line up this draft team for this weekend? I was 5th pick out of 8
    Cech, Forster
Cedric, Monreal, Van Aanholt, Matip, Daniels

    Jesus, Morata, Vardy

I've taken a punt on him at 4.5 seems like he may start this week and be used alot this season (most likely from bench not sure) as long as they don't buy many others

I go with Jesus over Kane, but I am reinvesting the funds. If Kane is looking good I will get him in for Burnley, but I wouldn't mind captaining Jesus against Bournemouth in the same gw.

I think I have whittled down to two options:

    A)

    DDG
    Kompany / Monreal / Yoshida
    KDB / Mkhi / Zaha / JWP
    Kane / Jesus / Gabbi

    Elliot / Carroll / Mee / Suttner

    B)

    DDG
    Kompany / Monreal / Yoshida
    KDB / Salah / Zaha / JWP
    Kane / Lukaku / Abraham

    Elliot / Carroll / Mee / 4.0

I've recently switched to A from B, but worried about going Lukaku-less... hence Mhki. I am mostly avoiding Liverpool due to uncertainty of starts. Also open to Yoshida > Stephens, but I guess there's not much in that.

    What do we think?

Willian or Fabregas. Since statistically Fab has better home game involvement i've gone with him.
