League leaders Manchester City travel to the DW Stadium tonight, looking to put breathing space between themselves and their city rivals. The Dugout Discussion chatroom opens in anticipation of the conclusion of Gameweek 21.

Both team sheets have been handed in, and here is how they line-up on this horribly cold Monday night…

Wigan XI: Al Habsi, Stam, Alcaraz, Caldwell, Figueroa, McArthur, McCarthy, Gomez, Crusat, Rodallega, Moses.

Man City XI: Hart, Zabaleta, Savic, Lescott, Clichy, Milner, Barry, Nasri, Silva, Aguero, Dzeko.

Roberto Martinez continues with Albert Crusat, who manages to shake off a slight back injury to start tonight. James McArthur begins for only the third time in the league this season, replacing Mohamed Diame who is unavailable thanks to the African Cup of Nations.

Manchester City are forced to partner Jolean Lescott and Stefan Savic at centre-back once more, despite a very ropey performance in their defeat to United last weekend. Elsewhere, David Silva is restored to the starting line-up, Sergio Aguero partners Edin Dzeko up front, and Pablo Zabaleta replaces Micah Richards.

Follow all the action in our Dugout Discussion chatroom, which can be accessed right here.

    Komp. Enrique. Simp. Santon. Caulker
    Silva. Bale. Sess. Dempsey. Moses
    Rvp. Rooney. Sturridge

    Thoughts?

Same front as me SZ (although I may keep Dyer rather than get in bench fodder Moses).

I still have no idea what to with my def.

I've put my faith in Aguero due to fixtures... who knows.

I've also just about given up on trying to rotate my defence as it never seems to work out. Maybe I'm just crap!

Krul/Vorm... see no point changing it apart from dodgy fixtures in gw28 & 31.

I am going with 3 "reasonable" defs... something along the lines of:

Richards, Enrique, Cahill, Senderos & ?

Not too dissimilar to mine SuperZ only I'm now going off Aguero. At the moment it is

            Krul, (Vorm)
            Enrique, Richards, Evans, SKelly, Santon
            Silva, Bale, Sessegnon, Valencia, Walters
            Aguero, RVP, Sturridge

But I could do Senderos, Dyer and Rooney instead of Skelly, Walters and Aguero. Still not sure.

I'm hoping so 4Vets, he's not done too badly for game time this season, but I'm honestly no expert, I tend to pick up most of my info from on here. If he doesnt, I'll have to take him out, who for though I dont know yet.

By the way, for your 5th def Stoke rotate well with Fulham according to China Mag's rotation spreadsheet.

It'll find you on either your work pc or your home pc and it'll bring you and you opponent together. You or your opponent will have the pick of heads or tails dependent on where you are ranked in the world and the winner will go through to the next round. It has been rumoured that it has a 60-40 bias toward heads.

    A) Crouch (SWA)
    B) Bellamy (bol)
    C) Huth (SWA)
    D) Fletcher (AV)
    E) Bendtner (SWA)

I don't want to create any unnecessary worry but any chance Nani is benched for this one? Park is often selected in big games and based on form and work rate I think Valencia would start this one over Nani if only one of them plays.

Understand that, but Defoe is pretty much nailed on this week and a good performance should mean a start against Wigan at home.

Forgot about Wellbeck's knee.. I don't know how serious that is. Carroll is very likely to start and put pressure on a weak Bolton centre-half partnership.

Yep, Crouch an option... lean pickings this week!

I know, but since you have a wildcard to use inside the next 2-3 weeks, it could be a punt for a week or two. If you feel it's a waste having that much money in the bank look at Rooney, Augero, Dezko, but they all playing the big teams.

Appreciate this is a slightly long winded post, but would really appreciate some views.

    Team is
    Vorm Krul
    Sipson Richards Jones Evans Walker
    Nani Mata Bale Moses Dyer
    RVP Sturridge Ade

Have 2 FT's, am thinking Ade + Mata to either Aguero + Dempsey, or Silva + 9.4 fwd.

Really though I think I might just be better of using my WC to this:

    Vorm Krul
    Simpson Evans Richards Huth Jones
    Bale Silva McLean Dyer Valencia
    RVP Sturridge Aguero

I see that it is a slight waste of a FT, but team would be much better for this week imo, and that's not at all different to what I want next week anyway....

My team: 46 points, 1 goal scored (rvp), 11 conceded.

Cup opponent: 46 points, 1 goal scored (rvp), 10 conceded.

aarrggghh i hope silva doesnt get any more than 1 bp or this will the most heart breaking loss ever!!!

ok guys I’m really struggling for what to do this week. Please help me out

    Friedel Vorm

    BAE, Brown, McAuley, Raylor, Jones

    Silva, Nani, Bale, Donovan, Tiote

    Odem, RvP, Sturridge

1 FT 0.9 in bank. Should I make a transfer (and what?) or save it and take 2 1 week punts next week?

    Cheers guys

Sorry for repost, but looking for some views on having Rooney (C) next week considering the below link and Arsenal's awful defending...

Arsenal have an OK defense at home (when healthy)

only let in more than one goal at home once, Liverpool back at beginning of season before Mertesacker was added

Go for it, I'm looking at Walters(C) only becasue Nani(c) has led to so little the last few weeks

This week he was my 2nd lowest scoring player, captaining any defender would have been better

took a 4pt hit to get rid of B. Johnson/Ntaylor

brought in J.Evans (+5 over NTaylor) and Ben Arfa(+1 over B.Johnson), so six more points than my team would have had making the -4pt sting a bit less

ultimately I took the hit to avoid the 0.1m loss for B. Johnson and to bank on the stellar game we all were anticipating from Hatem.

    this game is killing me

At this point I wouldn't bother with the 'value game'

Trading out to avoid a 0.1 drop seems like stressful craziness to me, especially at/beyond the midpoint of the season. Worked out for you, so: Grats.

solid point, understood, but my motivation is a bit different, in a monthly H2H for high end beer and I had the Assou-Ekotto house money to play with as far as points go, so I risked it

also team value is crucially low so it forced my hand

get rid of Mata for Valencia as you have Torres who may disappoint you but that is FPL... I would also try to get a Top-Five defender in to add solidity to your defence.

So all, considering that City are at home next gw. And after watching the game tonight, + Mancini's post match interview, I believe that Dzeko is prime candidate for cpt, I know its versus Tottenham , but another performance like tonight will guarantee bps, and hopefully a goal against a dodgy Spurs defense ,
Am i crazy ? I believe that Mancini will play Dzeko in the same roll again.

If Dzeko was nailed on it would be sooo nice due to being 3 mil cheaper than Aguero

In fact the more I think about it, 11 mil is a lot for a striker not on pens

I have both, just captain choice for me, I did Aguero this gw, ( OUCH ) which was natural, but my cpt, is on Dzeko next gw. But I did say earlier, " I learned my lesson, always cpt Rvp "

Worth keeping the ManU attacking trio of Nani, Valencia and Rooney for this week? I know, not ideal, but a punt I thought worth taking this week

    Krul Vorm
    Enrique Richards Simpson Senderos Caulker
    Nani Valencia Bale BenArfa McLean
    RVP Rooney Yakubu

    Currently 2.4m in spare change

Should I consider Nani > Silva (possibly Sessegnon)? this week...or continue the punt on ManU trio? Would be a 4pt hit as I'll need to replace Yakubu first and foremost

    Thoughts appreciated
