This evening’s Members article brings with it a new approach. With winter wildcards being flourished at a furious pace, we’ve put together a new article template to run the rule over a couple of very topical transfer targets: Stephane Sessegnon and Jonathan Walters.

Both players have received heavy investment ahead of the weekend. Sessegnon is facing a couple of enticing home clashes with Swansea and Norwich, while Walters, with four home fixtures in the next six Gameweeks (WBA, SUN, SWA, NOR), is also racking up the transfers on the back of a home average 6.8 points per game in Fantasy Premier League (FPL).

In terms of Fantasy output, there is very little between them. Walters is the pricier, by 6.7 to 6.6, and has returned a single point more than Sessegnon, by 95 to 94. The only real difference is in ownership, with the Stoke man currently selected by 16% of Fantasy managers compared to Sessegnon’s 13%. The latter has attracted the most suitors of late, though, rising by 0.4 since the end of gameweek 19.

Using both the Opta stats and our very own ICT Index available to our Members, we examine their last few gameweeks, offering a direct comparison between the two players’ performances.

    Final WC team - HOPEFULLY!

    Vorm/ Kenny
    Richards/ Huth/ Enrique/ Simpson/ Senderos
    Silva/ Bale/ Dempsey/ Walters/ Dyer
    Aguero/ RVP/ Fletcher.

with enough in the bank to get Ba/Sturridge for Fletch when it goes tits up.

Almost the same with me, so good team.. I guess. 🙂 I'm still thinking about a pair of Gk for 2nd half of season. Kenny has good fixtures but I'm doubt his CS potential. Also, I'm tinkering between Richards or Kompany.

Rate my post-WC (1 week ago) squad please.

    Friedel/Ruddy
    Enrique/Simpson/N Taylor/Richards/Cahill
    Bale/Nani/Sess/McClean/Dempsey
    Rooney/Aguero/Graham

    1.2 in the bank

I made the mistake of keeping Brad in v Wolves, expecting a performance -- So, the next free transfer will see one of these 2 keepers go bye bye for Krul or Lindegaard methinks. I've bucked the RVP trend all year and he is owned throughout my mini-league (and has been for awhile) so I have clung to Rooney from the get-go as a differential.

Wondering if I should take the 4 pt hit to replace my keeper? - both Friedel and Ruddy have bad matchups (at Man City and home to Chelsea) this week.

look to take out ruddy for now with sum1 hu rotates well with friedel and then wen u have another free transfer take him out for a cheaper option. e.g lindergard and soreson..

Just read the piece on Sess vs. Walters, another great bit of analysis from Sir Paulos!

You'd be forgiven for thinking you should get Sess over Walters for the whole season but you have to remember that threat and creativity don't necessarily translate to goals and assists. Sess has been threatening all season to be the best budget player but in reality he hasn't delivered.

Given Walters' fixtures and the .2m saved (I got him in when he was cheaper) I'll be sticking with him and hoping his penalty duties and deadly finishing see him outscore Sess.

I agree (even though I have Sess), Sess is the better player with skills, power and pace galore but that can be meaningless on FPL (maybe last year's bonus points systems would favour him more coz it was more 'subjective') but Walters is probably the better FPL player since he plays OOP and is on pens. But I just had to go for the flair aspect 🙂

Surely it is not foolish to think that MON will bring something more out of Sess, thus tipping the scales in his favor? These two players are the final piece of the puzzle for my WC

I hope all Fletcher owners realise you have got a WOLVES player, in your fantasy team. It would take all my might not to bench him every week, they're shite.

    Thoughts on this WC team?

    Sorensen (Mignolet)
Cahill, Gabbidon, J Evans (Assou-Ekotto, Simpson)
    Silva, Bale, Demsey, Sessegnon, Valencia,
    Van Persie, Aguero (Best)

    0.0 in the bank!

get rid of Assou-Ekotto! Spurs have the worst set of fixtures (except for the Wigan game)

Go for R Taylor and Shotton instead of Simps and BAE

I've been really surprised how many people have been buying him this week. He rose a couple of days ago, so I agree with your recommendation to sell! (I did last week). Cahill will offer much better value.

Have the same dilemma. Brought Fletcher in on my WC this week but as he's already risen 0.2 am so might cash in. Thinking hard about shipping him out today for Sturridge.

      Sturridge will rise tonight.
