Next up, Newcastle United and Liverpool bring the curtain down on Gameweek 7 in the 4.30pm kick-off at St James’ Park.

The big news is that Roberto Firmino drops to the visitors’ bench for the first time this season.

With just one goal in his last five league outings, the Brazilian was second only to Sergio Aguero for transfers out last week, with over 266,000 parting company.

Today’s news looks likely to signal further sales, barring a virtuoso outing off the bench.

Firmino was the sixth top captain option for the Gameweek and the most popular from today’s late match. Over 128,000 backed him with the armband, with Mo Salah (115,000) next in line.

Interest in Philippe Coutinho is on the rise, though – he was subject to more than 186,000 transfers in after following up a 13-point haul at Leicester with a midweek Champions League strike at Spartak Moscow.

And lest we forget Sadio Mane – the only player to score in each of the first three matches prior to his early dismissal at Man City in Gameweek 4.

For Newcastle, Matt Ritchie’s creativity could profit against a defence that’s shipped 10 goals in their three away matches.

The Magpies’ midfielder has assisted three of Newcastle’s last four home goals, earning 17 points in the last two in front of his own supporters.

Up against the Reds’ prolific attack, there’s no surprise to see than Rob Elliot is the most benched player for the Gameweek, named as a sub by more than 1.1m owners.

    Fabianski
    BDavies Jones Simpson Kola
    Miki Atsu Eriksen
    Kane Kaku Morata

    Subs: Elliot, Carroll, Chalobah, Mbemba

If you were to WC this team, do you agree the players with asterisks are the ones to KEEP?

    Foster - Elliott*
    BDavies* - Jones* - Cresswell - Naughton - Mbemba
    Eriksen* - Alli - Mkhitaryan - Atsu - Carroll
    Lukaku* - Lacazette - Firmino

I see only 5 definite players worth keeping - there are some debates around some of the defenders and less so on the other mids/forwards but looks like a wildcard could freshen up the side - bringing in Kane/City midfielder and ~3 others... any other players as "MUST HOLDS"?

Definitely no more must holds. I'd say even Eriksen/Lukaku are probably debatable, although they're still elite options. Atsu still seems like decent value to me, if not super exciting.

Thanks I did get a goal from Atsu but don't see NEWC scoring tons of goals so at 5m think I will either downgrade to a 4.5m and play 4-3-3 or upgrade to Richarlison/Ramsey who I think will be more consistent. Eriksen/Lukaku I can't drop despite fixtures, they are in such attacking teams and highly owned by my rivals. Not sure on the likes of Naughton/Cresswell, etc.

I've been liking Atsu as a 4th mid in a hybrid 3-4-3/4-3-3, because he's still cheap enough to bench when budget defenders like Mee have good fixtures. Although I appear to have gotten it wrong this week...

Jesus and morata if fit are better options than lukaku . Their gift run is at an end

Would generally agree but LIV defense is poor and vulnerable and Lukaku is so highly owned I just can't bring myself to sell him - too big of a risk with Morata hamstring and Jesus potential gametime loss in future for Aguero.
