If Kane starts and plays the full 90 tonight - would you still get him in?

Difficult to see him being rested vs Palace given the dropped points at United. There is the break after all.

I guess it comes down to how Kane reacts to the Madrid game if he starts. I've a suspicion he'll start on the bench and Spurs will react to match events before calling on him.

Wise assumption. Given the slight injury, would you still captain him vs. Palace?

I'll watch tonight. I'd say i'll take some persuading not to captain him.

I don't think Poch can take risks in any game now and if Kane comes through Madrid, he will figure against Palace.

^This^ I can't see a scenario he doesn't start against Palace, unless he gets injured further.

I'm hoping for a 30 minute run out second half, so we know he's back but doesn't go exerting himself ahead of Palace

I'm taking from this Jose wont throw him straight into a game like Chelsea but won't want France calling him up so will say he isn't fit yet to give him 2 weeks more to recover for gw12 easier return

Safe to say that my Sanchez (C) did not pay off last GW!

    DDG / Elliot
    Otamendi / Daniels / Ward / Duffy / Hunemeier
    Salah / Sanhez / Richarlison / Gross / Carroll
    Aguero / Morata / Vardy

Following tonight's game, would you do:
    A) Sanchez > Sané

If Kane is fit for Palace, would you also do:
    B) Morata > Kane

Following the International Break this should leave me with enough ITB to do Duffy (or Daniels) > Jones, ready for United's juicy fixtures. Then again, Rojo will be back.

Cheers. Rather annoyingly it would be at a -4. Having said that, I am 90% sure I would have Kane (C) to chip off a few of the lost points.

I haven't taken a hit since GW5, so it'll be a little treat. Still... had I just kept Sterling instead of punting on Sanchez, I'd be better-off across the board & require no hit. D'oh!

Kane (C) looks like the way to go this week should he be fit, and a good long term option so a hit wouldn't be the end of the world. It is that time of year where you've had a trick from Sanchez so would be nice to have a treat from Kane.

I've had Kane from the start so hoping it will all come together with the captaincy this time... the odds are in my favour that I will get it right once this season.

          Good luck for this week.

Thinking of wildcarding next week. Looking for nailed players as schedule looks quite congested, what is the consensus on David Silva? Lots of people seem to be shipping and he dropped in price the other day. Certainly has a lower points ceiling then other City mids and forward but he is nailed in a team that is scoring for fun. Will he be preferred fantasy option when City are playing at least twice a week in the festive period?

I'm favouring having Sterling and Sane with decent bench cover and accepting that there will be rotation.

On a WC I would be looking at Utd defence (plus keeper maybe), Chelsea defender, Gross/Murray, Gray (Leic), plus usual other suspects.

      1. Man Getting Hit By Football
        • 8 Years

I could do it on a wildcard. Aguero -> Abraham basically can set me up in every other position, and a front 8 of Salah, Sane, Silva, Richarlison, Groß, Kane, Lukaku, Abraham.

Definitely doable, and something to look into. Thanks.

I'd be tempted to go with Sane (explosive) + Silva (consistent) and eschew City forwards. Value seems to be in defence. Only downside is that they're both not great captaincy options.

I think with his current form Sané looks like getting quite immune to rotation risk, just as KDB and Silva (will be interesting to see if he starts on the bench tonight, which will be bad news for my UCL fantasy team but good for my fpl team). The other two places will go to either Jesus, Aguero and Raheem. Of course he will be benched in the odd game, but his return and the number of games he plays can'ot be overlooked i think.

Silva is a safe option, with a return of 5-6 points per game. Maybe having both is the best strategy (i have Sané and Jesus at the moment).

Currently have Sterling and Silva and looking at Silva -> Sane.

Although Sterling is a rotation risk he's a much cheaper one compared to Jesus and Aguero, and City score enough goals to justify the inclusion of a rotation risk.

Any ideas chaps? 1 FT, 0.2 in the bank

    Elliot
    Cedric, Jones, Davies
    Sterling, Silva, Salah, Carroll
    Jesus, Morata, Kane

    (Foster, Hegazi, Mariappa, Cheek)

    A) Silva -> Sane
    B) Hegazi -> Burnley DEF
    C) Jesus/Morata -> Abraham (dependent on how tonight goes), upgrade rest of team later...(i.e. double United def)

    Cheers!

Really considering dumping Jesus and getting Calvert-Lewin to join Tammy and Kane in my front line. Could get a mighty midfield and/or a dangerous defence with that kind of spare cash floating around.

Obviously this would be a more attractive proposition if Everton weren't such absolute pap right now.

It's difficult as I don't think he has the presence to play up top on his own but Everton have 3 number 10's to try to fit in and a lack of quality wingers so playing 2 up front is not a great option.

Nice idea but I'm not sure you'd actually be able to spend the rest of the money elsewhere without going for some of the higher cost/lesser value players i.e. Sanchez, KDB, Hazard, Alonso? Without missing out any of the great value players i.e. Richarlison, Burnley DEF, Jones, Sane, etc...

      Just a thought...

They're nailed, but could miss a game or two. Hunemeier & Goldson can both play in either poisition. However, they're as 'nailed' as you can really get.

If you think the last couple of weeks were bad in terms of rotation, have a look at the fixtures coming up. There are 10 GWs between the last week of November and the first week of January. In between there's also GW6 of the CL and league cup QFs. There will be rotation and carnage.

Building a squad of nailed on starters should be the main priority at this stage. You can't go into that period with duds and non-starters on the bench. Bench strength will be key.

Yeah and liked Andy's comment that it was just the Neigh-bours.
Mark is going to struggle to get his place back in the line-up at this rate! 🙂

They should invite a non mod/scout on each week as a guest contributor.
I couldn't do that though. Nobody would understand a word I said in my Glaswegian accent

That is what we need. Been asking for this on the thread for weeks now. TV is all about regional accents nowadays. Scottish, Irish, Welsh, Scouse, Geordie, Brummie, everything and anything rather than just having Suthern's softies.

what's with the scoutcast lads not trusting the city defenders.... have they seen the city attack? It's where the defence is built from

    On wildcard:

    Courtois, Joel pereira

    Alderweireld, Jones, Moreno, Tarkowski, 3.9

    D. Silva, Salah, Sane, Richarlison, Zaha

    Kane, Morata, Ayew

    0.0itb

Feels bad using up a united spot on a non-starting keeper, but would be playing 3-5-2.

Boost for Liverpool as Mo Salah has not been included in the Egypt squad to face Ghana in the WC Qualifiers. Egypt have already qualified.

What do others think about owning Sterling and Sane as City attacking players?

    Kane / Lukaku / Tammy A as front 3?

I’d rather have only one “risk” then potentially 2. There’s a world where both get benched! So having one plus Silva mitigates that risk.

But then both could start and score big. If I was on WC I’d have Sane and Silva

Would you be WCing this lot next GW if you had them?
    Prob Kane in this GW.

    Elliot.
    Kolasinac, Yoshida, Jones.
    Choupo-Moting, Richarlison, Sterling, Salah.
    Lukaku, Aguero, Vardy.
    Fabianski, Mee, Carroll, Mbemba.
    1ft, 1.6m in bank.

Only 'issues' are Yoshida and Mbemba. C-M, Tarroll and Fab could be improved but not enough to WC. With 1.6 ITB you could do Mbemba>Gomez this week, C-M>Zaha next week.

Yes save is a good option.
I am certainly considering saving. It's just Chelsea defence wasn't that great last night. However, I have heard rumours that Kante is back.

How does substitution work in this case:

Two of outfield players don't play and your captain is one of them. The VC is on the field and played so was given the arm band instead. You have 3 players on the bench with the order: played, not played and played. The captain who did not play was not substituted but the other non playing player was substituted with the first bench player.

      What

    2. Pep says
      • 10 Years
      8 years, 2 months ago

Because you have to have at least 1 striker. For example if you had 3 strikers and none of them played and your 3 bench players (2 defenders and a mid let's say) all played and score points. Only the 1st 2 subs will be used cause you play 5 defs and 5 mids

      1. Pep says
        • 10 Years

You *CAN'T play 5 defs and 5 mids

You have to have at least 3 defenders, 2 midfielders and 1 forward in your XI at all costs. Since none of your strikers played no subs were made.

Murray has scored three in three. Hemel will probably come on for the last ten minutes, but the starting berth is Murray's to lose.

All else being okay on Friday, and assuming I'll wait until after international break to get Jones in,

Is it worth doing Silva -> Sane, or better to roll the extra transfer into the break?
