    Fabianski
    Otamendi • Cédric • Yedlin
    Mo Salah • E. Hazard • Richarlison • Carroll
    Mr. Kane© • Kun • Vardy

    (Elliot / Duffy / Ward / RLC)

Cedric has Burnley at home and Jones has Chelsea away. Need I say more? Points over pounds. Save the transfer. I'll be making exactly the same move next week.

Telling him to hold is easy when you're not in his position.

But it's one transfer now or 2 transfers next week so it's the same amount of transfers regardless. He could end up having to lose a player he doesn't want to drop.

And Burnley have scored in all but one of their away games this season (against City) and United have shut out Spurs and Pool and will be probably have a better chance of a clean sheet than Southampton and Jones will probably get baps if they keep the clean so it could actually pay off in both respects (funds and points)

I VVD but I'm not gonna do it for a hit so I'll just make the straight 5.4m swap next weekend but if you have a free transfer, it is potentially worth it!

Thanks Pep! That is what I’m sort of thinking! Although there are risks this way too with someone getting injured or pulling out Friday if I make the move tonight!

In the same boat. Got exact money to do this and Jesus>Kane. Got burned last week with early transfers though!
Thinking I want Jones long term anyway and want rid of Cedric-might press the button!

See my 2 cent above. Again not sure about the hit but if you need to take a hit next week then it could be worth a punt.

      same situation with 1 FT

I had cedric and bertrand since gw1 and found them such poor options despite great fixtures, which leads me to think despite 'easy' fixture i'd be tempted to make the move this week (i will be priced out by IB), especially as Burnley have been scoring away this season AND Southampton have no goals in them so no potential for attacking returns, i'm leaning to say yes make the move, it's not like cedric has done particularly well in his long list of easy fixtures and now has a super tough run coming up

I got rid of Bertie last week, and as long as there are no obvious issues in tonight's CL games affecting other players, then i might just pull the trigger

Sorry Rafa was a bit harsh assumption by me. Jones is a great option and I've had him since gw3 so I understand you're keen. 🙂 nevertheless your team including Cedric looks good for this week and I personaly love playing it dull and rolling FT always when possible 😀

Here is my current team. Current rank 129k aiming to break in top 100k this GW.

    Any Suggestions?

    Forster
    Bertrand Alderweireld Mee Maguire
    Richarlison Sane Gross
    Kane Morata Aguero

    Elliot Atsu Carroll Hegazi

    1.4m itb

A few problems with my team going forward:

    - Double Southampton defence/GK
    - Hegazi not a good option anymore
    - Atsu and Newcastle fixtures turn bad after this GW

You don't say how many FTs you have.

If 1, save, in order to get rid of Cedric/Forster or both next week
If 2, start addressing your bench

I decided to stop for a moment and take a good look in the mirror. I analyzed my transfers (21), and came up with the numbers below.

Points earned by Transferred In Players: 87
Points earned by Transferred Out Players:
    70
    Point deducted (hits): 48
    Profit: -31 (87-70=17—17-48=-31)

In 10 weeks, I managed to lose 31 points by rushing transfers and trying to get players in before they raise in price. My methodology is usually to build team value and use it against oponents in the second part of the season. However, as of today, it has cost me way to much.

I would love to get your thoughts, criticism, feedback. Thanks

TV isn't as important this season I feel due to the lack of price change.

I haven't chased TV like in previous seasons. My only hit this season was a - 12 in GW3 due to Fraser and Pogba injury but I'm very reluctant to hits since then and it's paying off. Only hit I considered was Silva to Sané last week but held off.

TV is 102 I think and I don't think it could be a whole lot better had I chased it

I've taken 1 hit so far. My immediate gains from transfers has been 65 from 9 transfers total.

i normally use the same procedure, build huge tv in first half of season in order to smash opponents 2nd half of season, but as Pep Says says, TV is much less of a factor this season due to much less dramatic price changes

I've taken -40 in hits (way too many), and most of them weren't worth it and my OR suffered as a result (along with picking the wrong players), hits in themselves aren't a problem and can pay off, the key is to make the right moves (last week i took -4 to bring in Sane(c) and gave me a net profit of 20 points)

now my team is in much better shape and i'm happier going forward, but if i had just chilled on the hits i would have more points and could have just played a WC or had 1/2 weeks with a few hits to get the desired team - part of the key is not to chase the flavour of the week, make informed picks for the medium term based on evidence/knowledge, and be patient with those picks (ie don't drop Kane like i did at the beginning of the season just before he started hauling)

Disagree about the 'can't score at home thing'. He played well and looked like scoring in most of those home games, he just happened to miss his big chances; the same chances he's been sticking in away from home.

Agree about the 'not fully fit' point. Though he's always proved to be a quick starter after injury in the past.

Last season "nobody" wanted to captain Kane in away games due to his bad away form. He then scored 7 goals in the last 2 away games. There's really no logical explanation keeping Kane from putting 2 or 3 goals past Palace.

How do you know he's not fully fit? The games 5 days away and he might even play today, so that's nonsense.

Also he is the highest point scoring forward, with almost twice as many shots as his next rival. Not only this but they're playing a woefull team that don't even own a small buss let alone a double decker.

Also don't give us bs about Kane's stats at home and then say Richarlison is a better pick who can't even get a shot on target.

You should know better with a name like that.

Could potentially end up with Cedric Ward Jones Azpi back four this weekend. All playing each other. Ace.

Is Rashford a good 3rd ST option when United have a great run of Fixtures? Obviously a rotation risk, but there's a risk with Jesus/Aguero & Sane/Sterling and they're all still perfoming

Early tease of a new addition for members. We're building Referee stat tables and profiles currently in order to bring back the Men In Black series.

We have an early table in test and already there's already an interesting angle.

Anthony Taylor has officiated six matches and has awarded three penalties in those games - ranking top for penalties per appearance.

Taylor also ranks third overall for fouls awarded per appearance on 47.0 and fourth for fouls awarded in the final third.

He's effectively in the top three "whistle happy" refs in the attacking third and penalty area, although he's averaging 12.3 fouls per card, which is mid-table.

Taylor will be in charge of Chelsea vs Man United.

Yep. No site seems to make anything of ref data. We will.

Home and away split on fouls awarded etc. Should be another nice insight.

In fact their table is wrong. Taylor has given 3 pens. If you click on him in that table and view his profile you can see that. In their table they must only show penalties scored, maybe. Our table will show far more data, including home and away team bias on fouls and pens.

        hehe, yeah,....Cover.Every.Angle.

Refs aren't randomly selected for particular matches. If there are variables at work in that decision, then I reckon ref choice can play some part in events.

It will be an interesting set of data to track at the very least.

That's up to the reader. We're not forcing anyone to take it on board or let it influence them, we're just here to make data and variables available.

You can bet clubs and managers will be using this data.

If they leave no stone unturned, why should we?

But like I say, completely your choice.

Game between Chelsea v Liverpool in Nov 2014.
Made the following notes on the game.
Cahill hit hand Liv goal, matic handball chelsea first goal,
Hit cahill left arm from sterling shot, cahill dives left to save gerrard shot.
End of the game my notes read Anthony “Jose” Taylor.
He’s loves either Chelsea or Mourinho. Will know come end of up and coming game.

Surely people see that with the way referees are monitored, they revert to the mean rather than continue to give out penalties every game?

Basic knowledge of stats and a big database = big trouble.

If you're correct, which remains an "if", and refs actually start calming their awards to revert to the mean following feedback, is it not useful to have the data to see which refs might then be inclined to do this?

Really happy about this being finally tracked. I thought the men in black articles used to br a great read. I remember captaining Demba Ba when he scored a penalty for Newcastle because of these stats.

Will be interesting but don't think it'll change my transfers/captains. Penalties are still pretty rare so I don't think a slightly more strict ref will be enough to make short term 1GW changes to my team.

Currently having 0.2 ITB and 2FTs and thinking of below for the next 3 GWs:

    Next GW team, right order?

    Elliot
    Walker Jones Kola
    Sterling Atsu Eriksen Tarroll
    Kaku Kane(C) Jesus

    Subs: Fabianski, Simpson, Chalobah, Mbemba

I was gonna make Kola to Daniels, but decided to save ans have 2 FT in the Int Break, good idea?

Would really apprectiate some opinions. Whether to go 3 big hitters up top or not. Kane Aguero Lukaku or do I replace one of the 3 to say Abraham to allow me to change Tom Carrol to a Hazard? What are your thoughts?

Should 1 use my FT on this lot or take 2FT into the International break?

    Elliot (Foster)
Jones - Kola - Mee - Daniels (Mbemba)
    Salah - Eriksen - Sterling (RLC - T.Carroll)
    Vardy - Jesus - Lukaku

    0.8 ITB

Should i get Jones in for my ft this week before the price rise as I'll get him on my WC anyway?
Or should i wait for the European matches to happen and see if there's an injury (for example Kane)

    Elliott
    Otamendi Babies Dunk Ward
    Silva Salah Sterling
    Vardy(vc) Lukaku Kane(c)

    Pope Carroll Mbemba McArthus

    1 FT & 0.1 ITB.

Am thinking to save the FT and then bring in Jones & Abraham for next week.

    Any suggestions are much appreciated.

    Thank you,
