As entry opens for the Members-only Paddy Power Cup VI, we’ve almost reached the final stage of it’s predecessor. Gameweek 22 saw four fantasy managers face off in the Semi-Finals of the Paddy Power Cup V. In case you missed the summary in this week’s ScoutCast, here is how the two ties panned out…

sleepingmaster 48 – 41 ChickenDevil

sleepingmaster advances to the Grand Final after a seven-point win over ChickenDevil. A late fight-back courtesy of Antonio Valencia’s 13-point haul wasn’t enough to close the gap after Stephane Sessegnon and, to a lesser degree, Ciaran Clark’s performances the day before.

Sitting 59,659th in the world, sleepingmaster advances as the underdog, but is safe in the knowledge that he’s already pocketed prizes worth over £100. ChickenDevil will have to settle for a Gameweek 23 3rd-place play-off to bag a prize.

Raasclart 26 – 37 Funkyav

Eleven points was the margin of victory for Funkyav over Raasclart, who has John Ruddy’s unlikely clean sheet against Chelsea to thank. With Funkyav backing a heavy Chelsea win, seeing as his team boasted the likes of Juan Mata and captain Daniel Sturridge, fortune was certainly on his side.

    I would only look at him long term if balotelli was out long term. Too much of a rotation risk otherwise. I did toy with the idea of having all 3 city strikers for there nice run of fixtures, so you are always guaranteed at least 2 city strikers playing. But that would mean I couldn't have RVP or Ba!!

  Is Jagielka still out as well? Could be a good shout. I think the stats about Dzecko's away scoring, show that he is a better option than aguero for the next 3. Don't think I would captain him though. Not with rvp against bolton, and bale v wigan.

  Ballsy... but a bit silly IMO when you look at the stats more closely...
  
  Considering that 6 of those came in 2 games... 4 v Spurs right at the beginning of the season when Spurs were out of sorts... and 2 against 10 men of United, who should never have attacked so much with a man down.
  
  Bolton Qpr & Wigan are the other teams he has scored against, and lets be honest, they are mostly as bad at home as they are away...
  
  I honestly think Everton will keep it tight in this game since they seem to raise their game for the big teams... expect no more than 1, maybe 2 goals if your lucky... I predict 1-1...

        I have to use matlab to come up with simulation of a robot, and simulate the situation of one robot being escorted by 2-3 other robots while maintaining the same shape. I have managed to come up with the centre robot moving randomly in a plot area (represented by a dot).
        
        I need help in getting 2-3 other robots (represented as dots in the simulation) form a formation around this centre robot, thereby in a way "escorting" the centre robot.

        My point is that Vorm or Sorensen are likely to get 2-3 points whereas you'd back Linde to keep a CS, therefor of you are going to take a hit for a GK then tthis is the time to try it!

Would it be crazy to consider rotating Ba and Sessegnon? Both would play when the likes of dempsey have bad fixtures. Obviously I would be risking lots of potential points on the bench, but when you consider the choice is huth + mcclean, or caulker + sessegnon, the upside could be great. Caulker would be 5th defender, only coming in for easy home games.

  sess/ba do have the home/away thing going, but outside of this week, where ba is too risky and sess has a great fixture, id be starting ba over sess the following 5 gws. so i think id upgrade to huth. so possible for him to get a great haul gws 24-27.

    Looking at it again, the only GW that I would bench Ba for, would be tot and swa. So it wouldn't really be a straight rotation with Sess. Really I would be picking 3 from Dempsey, Sess, Valencia and Ba. Most weeks ONE of those have a weaker fixture. Of course, a lot of weeks i will have injuries, so having the strong sub helps out enormously. Hmmmmm

first post in 3 weeks , want it to be of some use so would really appreciate some advice.

defence: evans,simpson,brown,caulker,shotton(stockdale in goal this week)

evans and caulker defo going to start for me but brown will probably be out for a some time now so need to know what i shd do:
A)play simpson this week and get kompany in next week
B)use my freebie to replace brown now, 4.7 in the bank
C)any other option?

    oh i may have mistook the 4.7 as what he had to spend on a defender, not Brown + 4.7, if that is the case, by all means, bring in kompany.

  yeah thats a dilemma. not many good options in your team this week, and not many good ones worth bringing in for 1 week, if you are saving up 2 freebies for Kompany. id bite the bullet and play simpson.
