The penultimate match of Gameweek 20 gets underway at this evening as Newcastle United welcome league leaders Manchester City to St James’ Park.

Up against a defence with just a single clean sheet in 15 attempts, Pep Guardiola’s side boast three of the top ten captains for this round of fixtures.

Significantly Sergio Aguero – their most backed armband pick (6.2%) – is again chosen to lead the line and makes his fourth successive Premier League start. Gabriel Jesus warms the bench yet again, then.

Kevin De Bruyne (4.2%) and Raheem Sterling (3.1%) are also handed starts, though both have some way to go to match Harry Kane’s 17-point haul at home to Southampton yesterday.

Nonetheless, the pair arrive on Tyneside in fine form. De Bruyne has three goals and two assists in City’s previous six, with three sets of 10+ points hauls during that run.

Meanwhile, Sterling – the top target in midfield for Gameweek 20, with over 173,00 new owners – has served up 34 points in three, courtesy of three goals and a trio of assists.

David Silva’s ongoing personal issues means he misses out for the second time in three matches, however, with Ilkay Gundogan partnering De Bruyne in the centre of the park in his absence. Leroy Sane is also on the timber despite his early withdrawal against Bournemouth last time out – he’s now started just four of the last seven Gameweeks.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

      I'm worried for rotation and will switch him to Firmino. Will also give me funds to get players like Alonso and Arnie.

        that's it, but Jesus also played last night and longer than Aguero. Will you ditch him this week? or wait until dgw?

      I'll probably switch to Kane in GW22, but I'll be eyeing him up for a return shortly thereafter. If he had his shooting boots on - which he usually does - he would have had four yesterday.

        I would sell him in dgw to get extra funds, but the problem is should I sell him this week or not. Because rotation is haunting.

          I don't see any reason to sell this week. Jesus played more minutes than him yesterday, and having 2FT going into next week will be nice if you want Spurs and/or Hammers assets.

      I have noticed that there actually isn't that much rotation when Aguero is fit...

      It seems to me that Aguero is definitely the preferred striker option, while Jesus gets a game every once in a while, or starts on the flank.

      Yesterday was also encouraging. When Pep decided to protect the 1-0 lead, he withdrew Aguero to keep him fresh.

      If you look at the times Aguero didn't play, it was mostly due to injury situations or purely tactical changes from Pep. He isn't rotating any players right now due to "rests" Sterling is nailed on, Silva and KDB are nailed on.... He definitely has a preferred 11.

      The managers who seem to rotate more right now are Mourinho and Klopp!

        Yes, he plays when he is fit. Moreover when UCL is off, Aguero seems always start.

    Richarlison ---> Arnautovic for gw22 looks like the ideal swap.

    Richarlison has done well this season but we cant hang on to him forever and gotta go with the inform Arnie right ?

    Last 5 gws.

    Richarlison 2 assists in last 5.

    Arnautovic 5 goals in last 5

    Arnie has great fixtures after dgw too. (DGW hud BOU CRY bha WA. You couldnt have asked for any better fixtures than that

    I am coming around to the idea of having neither Hazard or Morata despite Che very good fixtures.
    City pool and possibly Spurs over much better value in teams that simply put score more goals. But I would be more than happy to put the saving into a defence double up of Alonso and Christensen.
    Agree or not?

    Saving FT this week with the option of for the DGW:
    a) Haz & Dunk -> Son & Vert
    b) Haz & Dunk -> Son & Alonso
    c) Haz & RLC -> Son & Arnie
    d) Haz & RLC -> Son & Lingard
    e) Haz -> Son (save ft)

    Courtois, Krul
    Ota, Jones, Mee, Dunk, Ogbonna
    Haz, Salah, Pogballs, Sterling, RLC
    Kane, Firm, DCL

    I want Arnie but that means I am committed to the power 5 midfield. I like having RLC as no.5 so leaning towards b...

      You could take - 4 in 22 and do

      Haz Pogba and Mee
      to
      Arnie Son and Alonso

      And there should be enough to do RLC to Lingard the week after. 🙂

    3 options for me for the next GW people - which one is best? First to 5 votes wins.

    Pope Adrian
    Otamedi Azpi Kenny Ogbonna Femenia
    Hazard Salah Richarlison Shaqiri RLC
    Kane Morata Abraham
    0.5 in the bank.

    Option A - Roll Transfer and do Richarlison and Hazard to Alli and Arnuatovic GW 22
    Option B - Femenia to a 4.5/5 and then do the above transfers for a -4
    Option C - Femenia to 4.5, Abraham to Calvert Lewin and then Hazard to Alli for GW22

    Options for gwk 22:

      Got 3 blanks.
      So will Christensen and Daniels be fit?
      Or should I make transfers? Lanzini masuaku or Kane out for 1 week?

      Would you take a -4 hit to bring in Spurs/West Ham players for DGW? Is the minus worth the reward ?

        if you plan on keeping them, well worth it! If not probably not! WHU have nice fixtures after the dbl gw.

        I think it is, yes. Depends on the player though. I won't be taking any hits to bring in a West Ham defender or a Spurs rotation risk (wing backs, for example).

        But I am happy to take a hit for Alli / Eriksen, who I think will see minutes in both games and could be in for double digit hauls. It helps that their immediate fixtures after GW22 are also good, and the type of players they would come in for most managers are Hazard (Ars), Pogba (Eve) etc who are not really performing.
