With the Paddy Paddy Cup V sewn up last week by sleepingmaster, we now turn our attention to it’s sister competition, the Members Paddy Power Cup II. Over 900 Fantasy Football Scout members signed up, with hopes of qualifying for the first round of 512. As expected, the standard was very high, and the qualifying mark was set at a lofty 82 points for Gameweek 24.

That put 494 in the hat for round one, and forced 41 fantasy managers to rely on their overall rank to earn one of the remaining 17 spots. The list of all qualifiers can be viewed right here.

On to the first round draw then, which has been made and can be viewed right here. All 256 fixtures will be played over the upcoming Gameweek 25, and the result will follow shortly afterwards.

Our reigning champ, Kippax Kikkers (formerly Kippax Kolggers), is up against leekota, as he looks to defend his title.

Elsewhere, plenty of Scouts (not me) are in the mix – Mark takes on Shimmy, G-G-Granville has drawn Shehzu, Andy will square up to Lucas that is all, it’s Big Dunc Vs. ChrisHighwind, Pure Olivia is up against djembe, Anorak‘s been paired with Primprong, and Jonty will play johnd.

The prize? Well, once again sponsors Paddy Power are supplying the competition with some great prizes and we’re supplementing these with Amazon Vouchers. The prizes break down as follows:

  • Winner – £150 worth of free bets. £50 Amazon Voucher
  • Runner-up – £75 worth of free bets. £30 Amazon Voucher
  • 3rd Place – £50 worth of free bets. £20 Amazon Voucher

Remember, to claim a prize you will need a Paddy Power account and be aged 18 and over to be eligible. Prizes are also subject to Paddy Power’s terms and conditions.

If you’ve yet to register a Paddy Power account, then you can sign up via this site and get a free £20 when you register and bet £10.

Finally, if you set up an account and are going to bet with Paddy Power, always gamble responsibly.

Why was Nasri playing in defensive midfield last week?
Surely City have more capable players in that position.
It struck me as a bit strange.
Then Samir limped off after 50 mins...

http://www.ratemyteam.co.uk has just been updated to take into account the latest injury and team news.

Captaincy is very interesting this gameweek and not as clear cut as last week. Currently Aguero tops our list, with Bale running closely behind, followed by Adebayor, Rooney, Dempsey and Adebayor.

If you have any feedback about the site feel free to contact us- we're always happy to hear what our users think about the site and our numbers. Email is admin at ratemyteam.co.uk.

I like the design and obviously a lot of work has gone into it, but I don't really like the concept of a site that essentially tells you what to do 'by the numbers' with none of the debate, reasoning and argument that you get on this site.

    My team for gw25:

    Vorm
    Caulker-Richards-Senderos
    Sess-Dempsey(C)-Silva-Bale
    RVP-Aguero-Ba

    Subs: Skrtl Dyer RTaylor

Thinking of shipping Skrtl due to fixtures, and to avoid having to double up on swans, but who do people rate as the best replacement. Currently thinking Evans/Cahill/BAE. Or leave defence alone and do Dyer to Sigurdssen?

non united fans, try not to be blinded by your hatred for rooney. I am a palace fan, don't like rooney as a person, but strongly believe he is the best player in the premier league. He has a mixture of silva's creativity, aguero's work-rate, proved he can finish like van persie, his movement is as good as anyone, and sometimes it looks like he single handedly carries united, without him they lost 3-2 to blackburn and seriously lack a spark. He's really their only top class player, and he for me is the main cause of their success in the past 7 years. He scores a lot of goals presuming he has to play in the creative midfield role as man united lack any decent creative midfielders. I think he's the best player in the premier league by some distance, united have won 4/5 leagues, potentially going on to be 5/6 really without great teams, he's the shining light that lifts them. That's why I, despite not liking the bloke, look beyond my dislike for personality, try to avoid being blinded by hate and I think rightly acknowledge he's the best player in the Premier League by some distance. RVP- rooney has his movement and finishing as proven by his goalscoring, silva-rooney has proven to have silva's creativity, being instrumental to everyone's of united's attacks in big games, i.e scoring 8 against arsenal, 3 at city, 3 at chelsea, yaya-rooney's powerful driving with the ball is just as good and dangerous as yaya's, he just has more of an end product, modric-the same as silva, bale- different to rooney, bale's legend, but not quite at rooney's level yet

honestly silva's bordering on the most over-rated player, he had a good first 5 months this year, averagel ast year, average since november, and poor before then. I know spain's tough but can't get in the national team. He's city's 5th best player, behind aguero, yaya, hart and kompany

it doesn't matter what you think of silva, you picked his best quality, and one which no one since fabregas has got near, and claim it's bettered by rooney. silva beats defenders with passes, rooney sprays passes to valencia, beating 0 men each time but getting a nice round of applause because it looks pretty

He doesn't really have the finishing of RVP or creativity of Silva though. He beats them in other areas and he's a very good player but I wouldn't say he's the best in the league.

Midfielders are some if not the majority of the highest scoring players. No excuse.

FPL-wise, OK. No need to discuss it, just look at the highest scoring players. In real life, Rooney is easily in the top 3 with RVP and Silva. Possibly not on current form this moment, but still.

i have picked many players i don't like on a personal level, at the end of the day it's all about points. that said i don't think rooney is vital especially considering his price. it's not the same as not picking the other hated man, cristiano ronaldo, a few seasons back (where you kinda HAD to have him). Rooney is nowhere near delivering points to make him a must-have, in fact there are many better choices.

Who would you bench for this gameweek?

    Krul Mignolet
    RTaylor Enrique Taiwo Shotton Senderos
    Siggy Sess Sinclair Silva Bale
    RVP Aguero Ba

I have no FT. Bit gutted as defence is not looking good for this gw

not saying rooney "didn't score" cus he was midfield. He's still scored 15 goals in the league, he's more than just a goalscorer unlike RVP. I don't think i'm deluded, I used to be on the rooney hatred bandwagon, till i watched his performances, he's the only complete attacking player, and the impact on his team is incredible

So i need some help on my proposed transfers...
    I currently have

    Kenny
    Richards/Senderos/Caulker
    Sess/Bale/Silva/Dempsey
    Graham(c)/Aguero/RVP

    Lindegaard/Walters/Huth/Raylor

I have .8 in the bank and two freebies

Willing to lose Sess possibly, definitely Huth, and probably Walters, but need enough to get Ba next week
I was going to do Huth and Sess to Tarrabt and Evans, then next week Graham to Ba, but bloody .1 short as always

I guess simple was is to do Sess to McClean, leaving loads of cash?

I am pondering (I repeat pondering) the sale of Silva (catch 22).

Anyway, Sigurddson looks good, but that Swansea midfield is spewing talent. I'm leaning more towards Sinclair.

I may even buy McClean despite owning Sess.

    Any other options?

As cheap options go Sigurddson seems like the real deal and thats what I leaned towards. Although the logic behind Sinclair is sound (Pens and all).

Personally I don't like doubling up in midfeild. All good options though 🙂

Do you currently have the Power 5 or a variant thereof?

I wouldn't sell Silva just yet, but then selling him coincided with my horrible post gw 18 downturn from which I'm still trying to recover.

I sold him for Osman's double gameweek, got locked up for being clinically insane and then watched in pain as he bought in the points.

I bought him back for Fulham at home.

Now I may sell him for a second time.

Heh, I was another Osman junkie. Argh. That double gameweek really messed up my team.

I'd keep him personally. I'm hanging on to the Power 5 for now. My plans are all in defence in the coming weeks.

This could be the golden ticket. I love McClean, Sinc and Sig, but the idea I could make my midfield 5 all 8m options is a fascinating turnaround.

How many of us said, it's either the 6.5 or 10 range in midfield - nothing inbetween!

I've always loved your grav but didn't know who or what it was.(I'm from the US) So, I came across Peep Show today, saw that face and had to check it out. I loved it! Watched the first 3 episodes back to back to back! David Mitchell is brilliant!

As for FPL, I found out late last year and mod to this year that I have benefitted from just holding onto Silva. A lot of other players spike but overall silva seems to be pretty solid. I currently have Dyer and have thought about bringing in Sigurddson but know that, as soon as I do, Dyer will light it up. In summary, I would probably go with Sinclair as he should be in on all the action.

Interesting stats on Siggy on transfermarkt website.

    http://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/en/gylfi-sigurdsson/aufeinenblick/spieler_90466.html

Obviously most of his goals come in the Championship (or Iceland U21!) so will be interesting to see what he can achieve in the PL
