David Silva will miss Spain’s friendly with Argentina on Tuesday, Stoke City’s attack gets a boost and a number of Premier League stars are in action during Saturday’s international fixtures.

Manchester City’s Silva has been allowed to leave Spain’s squad for “personal reasons”.

The 32-year-old, owned by 10.3% of Fantasy Premier League (FPL) managers, started and played 71 minutes of Friday’s 1-1 draw with Germany.

But he will play no part in Tuesday’s match with Argentina in Madrid and there is no official confirmation either way as to his availability for City’s fixture at Everton on Saturday evening.

Silva has missed a number of domestic matches this season following the premature birth of his son and this latest development will put the 55,000+ who have signed him ahead of Gameweek 32 on alert.

Diouf boost for Potters

Stoke City hope to have both Mame Diouf and Xherdan Shaqiri available for Sunday’s Gameweek 32 trip to Arsenal.

Diouf has missed the last two matches with a shoulder injury, leaving Potters manager Paul Lambert to make do and mend up front, with midfielder Eric Choupo-Moting and veteran forward Peter Crouch both used in the lone striker role.

Lambert’s assistant manager, Stuart Taylor, has now said that Diouf is “coming along nicely”. He is currently away with Senegal and could feature in Tuesday’s friendly with Bosnia Herzegovina.

Taylor added that the 12.5%-owned Shaqiri is continuing to rest after pulling out of Switzerland duty with a calf injury.

“You’ve got to go through the pain barrier which a lot of players do in fairness to them – Xherdan Shaqiri was one of those last weekend for us.”

The playmaker passed a fitness test to feature against Everton last time out, though according to Taylor, signalled to the bench to request his withdrawal on 76 minutes. While Shaqiri is willing to play with the injury, his ability to complete 90 minutes still looks in question, particularly at Arsenal in Gameweek 32.

Midfield stars in action

Three major midfield assets were involved in yesterday’s international fixtures, with the most popular – Spurs’ 15.1%-owned Son Heung-min – playing 75 minutes in South Korea’s 2-1 loss to Northern Ireland.

Son couldn’t repeat his blistering domestic form – he’s scored four goals in his last two Gameweeks – for his country, but he remains a key Gameweek 32 target, with more than 82,000 managers making him the third most purchased player ahead of next weekend’s action.

Swansea City midfielder Ki Sung-yueng played 67 minutes in Belfast, while West Brom duo Gareth McAuley and Jonny Evans featured for 90 and 68 minutes respectively for the hosts.

Arsenal’s 11.7%-owned midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan played the full 90 minutes in Armenia’s 0-0 draw at home to Estonia, with Liverpool defender Ragnar Klavan doing likewise for the visitors.

Meanwhile, Man United star Alexis Sanchez provided the assist for Chile’s late winner in a 2-1 victory in Sweden.

The 2.8%-owned attacker played the full 90 minutes and it was his shot, saved by Swansea City keeper Kristoffer Nordfeldt, that was turned in on the rebound to seal the win.

Nordfeldt’s club-mate Martin Olsson played the full match for the Swedes, as did Man United centre-half Victor Lindelöf.

Elsewhere…

Leicester City winger Demarai Gray scored for England U21s in a 2-1 win over their Romanian counterparts.

The midfielder captained the side and played 59 minutes before being replaced by Everton full-back Jonjoe Kenny.

Other Premier League players in action were Trent Alexander-Arnold, who provided the assist for England’s winner, and Kyle Walker-Peters, the pair both featuring for the full 90 minutes.

Ainsley Maitland-Niles played for 70 minutes but limped off with an injury which will need assessment. Meanwhile, Tammy Abraham enjoyed 84 minutes before being replaced by Dominic Calvert-Lewin.

Lindelöf’s team-mate Eric Bailly and Spurs full-back Serge Aurier were part of an Ivory Coast defence that couldn’t hold on to a two-goal lead in a 2-2 draw away in Togo.

The pair played the full 90 minutes, while Brighton striker Tomer Hemed scored on the hour for Israel and was subbed off just a minute later as his side lost 2-1 at home to Romania.

Watford’s André Carrillo was on target for Peru as they defeated Croatia 2-0 in the early hours of Saturday morning, while club-mate Sebastian Prödl played the full 90 minutes in Austria’s 3-0 win over Slovenia on Friday.

    Is Young a good choice?

    De Gea Ryan
    Alonso Vertogen Lowton Morgan Dummett
    Salah Mahrez Son Willian Young
    Lukaku Aubameyang Barnes

    Auby to Vardy 34
    Lukuku Kane 36/37

I’ve just brought him into my latest draft. Won’t be playing him GW32 or GW33... happy to play him GW34 though.

Normally I wouldn’t entertain bringing in a player who is reverse OOP but given Man Utd’s uncertainty at the back (Smalling/Jones/Lindelof and to a lesser extent Bailly) and Man Utd’s lack of appeal in midfield... Young becomes a viable option.

I’ve got Valencia (now) and Lukaku (GW34 for Auba)... I would like DeGea but can’t afford him... so Young gets the nod over Matic for me.

    Bottomed on last article:

    On WC atm, no FHC
    DDG Ryan
    Alonso Bailly Ward Tark Morgan
    Salah Willian Son Mkhi Gross
    Lukaku Vardy Barnes

Mkhi > Mahrez in GW34 or too much Leicester cover?

    Thoughts on this wc draft.
    Plan is bb34, fh35, tc37.

    de Gea Ryan
    Alonso Cedric Lowton Morgan Dunk
    Salah Mahrez Gross Willian Ozil
    Auba Vardy Barnes

Would look to use 2ft in 34 to do auba and ozil to Lukaku & eriksen or Kane & Son

I like the Mustafi pick. Don't forget he has a decent gw34 game (and great fixtures generally) and carries an attacking threat. He could easily outscore Chri57ensen over the double.

Yes it’s a very good squad. Only ones not sure on are Matic (1 goal 1 assist the whole season) so will be a 2x2 points for the DGW

I prefer Murray for Barnes but can you afford

Mustafi - swap with a double double game weeker?

        Thanks for feedback.

Yeah I don't particularly want Matic but who else for 4.7?

Not sure on double Brighton attack. Also Barnes will become J.Ayew when he's back and for DGW37.

Yeah Mustafi to Christensen for GW34. Ideally want to get rid of Matic to keep the option of getting Smalling also

Considering damage control strategies ;-). Might focus on building a strong team for BGW 35 instead of tinkering too much for DGW 34, tempted to hold chips until after. WC just before gw 36, TC or BB in gw 37, TC or BB in gw 38.

Get strong team in for gws 32-34. Make sure gw34 as strong as possible as could get you 130+ pts. Then take hits for gw35. I will have about 6/7 gw35 players from arsenal Burnley Everton and Newcastle

TC Kane 37 is the template plan. TC Lukaku 34 only if you desperately want to gamble and be happy with 15-25% (taken from hat) chance to win this gamble. I would consider it perhaps if chasing many players with template strategy and it is only either catching or not catching.

    Hi All

How’s this WC team looking? My team value is pretty low and £0 itb! Have FH in GW35 and will BB in GW37.

    Cech, Dubravka
    Christensen, Smalling, Tarkowski, Fernandez, Yedlin
    Salah, Son, Willian, Mahrez, Kenedy
    Lukaku, Aubameyang, Murray

Best laid plans would be to bring in Vardy & Lloris in GW34 so I get 10 DGWers plus Salah. That sets me up with 13 DGW's already for GW37 plus a couple of transfers to get the other 2 in for a full BB.

The German Newspaper "Kicker" is reporting that Tuchel rejected the Bayern Munich offer because he had already signed a contract to become the new Arsenal manager starting with the new season! Sounds pretty legit if the kicker writes it!

It wouldn't surprise me tbh. It does seem as though he's been holding out for a Premier league job

Hmmmm. Would have preferred Simeone/Allegri/Low but I hope it's true I suppose. We need change. Hopefully Wenger can win the Europa and leave on a high.

Wouldn't have Mourinho at my club, that's for sure.

It will be interesting to see what happens to Mislintat. He left because of Tuchel, but reports suggests that he will work for the club no matter who comes. Even though I hoped that Mislintat will go back to Dortmund 🙁

I'd keep Eriksen and do the other 2 for -4

Not many teams seem to have him. Can afford Eriksen > Sanchez who I think could be a massive differential starting with Swansea at home on Saturday.
