The ScoutCast – Episode 257 – Carping

The ScoutCast crew are always quick to jump on the shoulders of giants, so when a veteran of the Fantasy Football Scout community starts to threaten a Fantasy Premier League title tilt, we just have to get them on the show.

Matt Kearney aka “Bowstring the Cap” has been about on our pages for seven seasons but never has he experienced one like this. Currently ranked twenty-third in the world, he drops by in this latest episode to offer his take on the campaign and, in particular, the strategy for the run-in.

In truth, Matt was better placed before Gameweek 33 and, along with Jonty, Andy and Az, he joins me to look back at the lowest scoring weekend of the campaign when even the leading managers faltered.

But those gripes are soon drowned by a wave of enthusiasm on the eve of Double Gameweek 34.

That’s the focus for your latest set of community questions, sparking our thoughts on the optimum heavy-hitters, the rotation fears and our confidence in Chelsea to produce over the extra fixtures.

This ScoutCast was first beamed live via our YouTube channel on Tuesday evening. Be sure to subscribe to get notice of future live episodes.

    Considering Kane as captain but it worries me that fpl like to remove his goals for no reason what so ever.

    In hindsight i wish I'd gone dirt cheap on my defence.

    Can't see many clean sheets this week and rotation means might not even get those.

      Only Liverpool & Everton kept clean sheets last week, used to be such an important thing to have solid defenders..

    Whats the view on my BB team please guys?

    DDG (Nordfelt)
    Smalling Mustafi Morgan Lowton Mariappa
    Willian Salah Son Mahrez Gudmundsson
    Lukaku Auba Barnes

    Thinking:
    Auba -> Vardy
    Mariappa -> Christiansen
    £0.8mil in the bank

    Starting to think of taking Son out for Eriksen/Pogba. Worth the -4 to get Vardy, Chistiansen and Eriksen in for Auba/Mariappa/Son?

    Any suggestions for alternatives?

    Why are people speculating that a fully fit Lukaku could get rested but not Kane, who is only just back from injury, looked very rusty last game and is also playing 3 games in a week?

    1. how now brown cow
      • 9 Years
      6 years, 2 months ago

      Looking rusty = needs more game time.

      Plus spurs have an extra day recovery before semi final.

        Looking rusty also could = limited minutes in order to avoid a recurrence of the injury.

          He is bound to play 90 minutes against City & think Mo Po would want him to score 7 against Brighton then go into the weekend full of confidence

          Doesn't tend to be how they manage kane. 90 mins v city, 75 v Brighton if winning.
