Monitor – Gabriel Jesus

Just three Gameweeks now stand between Fantasy Premier League (FPL) managers and the long, dark teatime of the soul that is the summer break.

Yet with mini-league titles still to settle and another Double Gameweek on the horizon, difficult line-up decisions continue to present themselves. After a pair of red-hot Gameweeks across which his Man City side have racked up an impressive eight goals, Gabriel Jesus has firmly inserted himself into the Fantasy conversation and summarily dismantled the Wildcard template frontline of a Harry Kane – Romelu Lukaku/Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang – Jamie Vardy triumvirate.

With goals in each of his last three starts, should Jesus displace one of his fellow heavy-hitters within our frontlines? And how much should we consider sacrificing to ensure we have the Brazilian on board?

In this latest Monitor article for members, we will be breaking down the striker’s season, recent form, and evaluating his potential over the final handful of games versus altnernative targets in the Man City squad.

Cheers. Considers Son and Sterling as well but worried they are more likely to be rotated.

Just do Mahrez -> Sterling, Smalling is a rotation risk with Bailly back in contention. So is Alonso to be fair, but I wouldn't do it for a hit.

Finally think I've finished my WC, BB in 37:

    DDG / Ederson
    Vertonghen / Chilwell / Yedlin / Naughton / Fernandez
    Salah / Sterling / Eriksen / Mili / Kenedy
    Kane / Jesus / JAyew

    Any glaring flaws?

Cpl have doen their job...Mili needs to go for arnie..If you chasing I would even replace Salah with Son and upgrade mili to arnie

I'd have Arnie if I could afford him, problem is I've got 0.1 ITB unfortunately. I'm leading and 2nd has Salah so he has to stay 😉

I am surpised managers especially Roma and Mancity ones dint take a leaf out of how Young controlled Salah against Manutd. He just dint give Salah an arms space literally holding him entire match! If young can do it I am sure most defenders in world can..Dissapointing from Roma especially playing 3 at back knowing this was time to be smart not cheeky :/ One good chance for Roma to taste glory almost dusted

Attacking players are the ones who decide the outcome of the match...Salah didnt play great in that Utd game, nor did Liverpool as a team

Deep defensive line with pacey defenders who can't be beaten for pace. Leave a couple high up the pitch to play the ball in over the top.

Roma played 4 atb against Barcelona and got crushed in the first leg. In the second leg they went 3 atb and turned it around. They weren't trying to be cheeky. They tried to play to their strengths and it worked for 45 minutes of the match. The other 45 minutes of the match they got annihilated.

Roma don't have someone in their backline to take out Salah. Kolarov and their centre backs are slow. Young is a lot quicker and conveniently also right footed.

Barca and Liv games are totally different! Dont think even Roma manager is so ignorant...Roma was able to cope a bit with Barca mid with 5 in it...Liv mid is something to laugh about compared to their pacey counter attackers...4 at back is best bet to absorb counters...they could have played with fast Karsdorp if Florenzi dint want to be switched at LB..Roma made the tactical genuis vs Barca seem foolish in this one

Not in too bad a shape post FH:

    DDG Ryan
    Vertonghen Mustafi Alonso Lowton Morgan
    Mahrez Willian Son Lingard Gross
    Kane Lukaku Barnes

    A) Alonso and Lingard to Sterling and Tomkins (or another 4.3 def) (-4)
    B) Alonso, Lingard, Jesus to 5.3m def ie Bertrand, Sterling, Jesus (-8)

I think there is a mistake in B. You want to sell Jesus and you also want to buy Jesus (unfortuately I make many mistakes and so I can understand this). Probably you want to sell Lukaku. But I will keep. Arsenal will be tired and maybe a lot of players will bench.

Which players from Spurs, United, City, Arsenal and Chelsea will probably play twice in 37 (beside keepers)

    Eriksen, Kane, Jesus, Azpi, Pogba?

Not sure on pogba and Jesus as Sterling can play as striker too. Sterling has been subbed early recently so may turn out more nailed but who knows...Vert is pretty nailed too

The thing that makes boxing a crap sport IMO is that they are afraid of having a unified champion. Can you imagine if Usain Bolt was the fastest 100m runner in the world in one division and Justin Gatlin was the fastest 100m runner in another?

If Arsenal want to win then players like Ozil, Xhaka and Ramsey have to put in a defensive shift and show some hussle.

If you want to get Kane, Sterling, Jesus and Bavies (who I wouldn't recommend, owing to possible rotation) over the next 2 GW's

Get Kane and Sterling this week, maybe. Or choose the two who you'd want out and select 2 in the same positions.
