Our partner game Yahoo are offering yet another big-money contest for Fantasy managers this weekend.

They have a Premier League £2k Saturday contest which takes in all six of that day’s matches from 3pm onwards, finishing with the 5.30pm kick-off between Swansea City and Chelsea at the Liberty Stadium.

The contest is guaranteed to run, costs £5 to enter and is a multi-entry game, which means you can select up to four teams. The top 100 places pay out – there’s a minimum win-back of £10, with £200 going to the first place.

Driven by Opta data, the Yahoo game has a unique scoring system which is ideal for those members of our community on the lookout for a Daily Fantasy Sports game.

If you’re new to Yahoo, you can sign up and claim a free £50 in credit to your account when you deposit just £5. Promo code: Fantasy50.

Before getting started on your lineup, it’s worth checking out our Strategy Guide, which assesses the types of players who profit from the rule set.

FFS Strongest XI

Martin Dubravka – £14
Victor Moses – £16
Florent Hadergjonaj – £10
James Tarkowski – £14
Johann Berg Gudmundsson – £17
Riyad Mahrez – £24
Willian – £22
Luka Milivojevic – £18
Wilfried Zaha – £23
Ayoze Perez – £17
Charlie Austin – £18

A home encounter with West Brom brings Newcastle’s Martin Dubravka into our weekend line-up. Rafa Benitez’s side have been in fine form at both ends of the pitch in front of their own fans, winning each of the last four at St James’ Park in a run that has seen them concede just one goal. Meanwhile, the Baggies arrive having scored just nine goals away from home. The Yahoo scoring system – which awards goalkeepers points for wins or draws and double the number of points as defenders for a clean sheet – should benefit the on-loan Slovakian.

A goal and assist away to Burnley last time out highlights the attacking threat of Victor Moses as Chelsea make their way to Swansea. Now up to three goals and five assists for the season, the right wing-back has fired 31 attempts on goal – a tally bettered only by his suspended team-mate Marcos Alonso among Yahoo defenders. Given that the Swans have scored just two goals in their last five league matches, Antonio Conte’s side could be in line for a fifteenth clean sheet of the campaign in Saturday’s late kick-off.

Huddersfield’s Florent Hadergjonaj looks a snip at just £10 for the visit of Everton. Over his last six matches, the raiding right-back is joint-top among defenders for chances created (11) and sits second and first respectively for crosses (47) and successful crosses (11). David Wagner’s men have upped their resilience at the John Smith’s of late, chalking up a pair of clean sheets in their last three home matches.

A home encounter with Brighton bodes well for Burnley’s James Tarkowski. Although The Clarets are without a clean sheet in the last five, their opponents have struggled for a cutting edge on the road and have failed to score in seven of their last ten away matches. At home, Tarkowski is ranked among Burnley’s top two players for successful tackles (23), interceptions (28) and blocks (18).

A Yahoo favourite, Johann Berg Gudmundsson offers multiple routes into the points for Burnley’s showdown with Brighton. In the last six matches, the Icelandic international has delivered four assists and sits among the top two players for crosses (64) and successful crosses (15). Gudmundsson has recorded 14 shots and as many key passes, supplementing this with eight successful tackles and six interceptions in that period.

Riyad Mahrez is our preferred Leicester pick for the trip to a Crystal Palace side that’s without a clean sheet in their last five at Selhurst Park. Away from home, the Algerian has played a part in 44% of his side’s goals when on the pitch – more than Jamie Vardy’s 41%. Mahrez is ranked first for shots (36), key passes (22) and fouls won (26) among the Foxes’ contingent on the road and claims second spot for successful crosses and shots on target (14 apiece).

Rested for Chelsea’s second match of Double Gameweek 34, we expect Willian to return to the teamsheet for the trip to Swansea. Over his last six matches, the Brazilian has tallied two goals and an assist, recording more shots (19) and efforts on target (ten) than any team-mate, in addition to supplying 15 key passes. The Swans, meanwhile, have one clean sheet in seven attempts, conceding 14 times in that run.

With three goals and two assists apiece over their last six matches, Luka Milivojevic and Wilfried Zaha will be key figures as Crystal Palace look to clinch survival at home to Leicester.

Dead-ball specialist Milivojevic is among the Eagles’ top three players for both successful tackles (13) and interceptions (13) during this period, completing more passes (237) than any team-mate.

Meanwhile, Zaha’s new role up front means that he leads the way for shots (12), efforts in the box (seven) and attempts on target (seven) for Roy Hodgson’s side. Furthermore, he has been fouled 16 times from Gameweek 30 onwards, more than any player in the Premier League.

Ayoze Perez has been instrumental in Newcastle’s recent improvement, thanks to three goals and a pair of assists in the last four Gameweeks. A total of 13 efforts on goal in that period is more than any player from Yahoo’s Saturday contest, with the Spaniard’s work-rate – seven successful tackles and four interceptions – also profiting from the scoring system. He now faces a West Brom backline that have managed just two clean sheets in their last 16 road trips.

Back on the Southampton teamsheet for last weekend’s FA Cup semi-final clash with Chelsea, Charlie Austin looks set to lead the line for a vital home encounter against Bournemouth. With Mark Hughes’ men in desperate need of the points, Austin’s threat in the box could punish a Cherries defence that has managed just one clean sheet in their last 22 attempts. In an injury-hit season, Austin’s average of 104 minutes per goal is bettered only by Mohamed Salah (85.7) and Sergio Aguero (93.8) in 2017/18.

As Yahoo allows late swaps up until each kick-off, our listed line-up may well be subject to change.

The Weekend Contests

As well as the Premier League £2k Saturday contest, Yahoo are also offering a pair of Premier League £1k Sunday contest.

This consists of both matches from that day – West Ham vs Man City and Man United vs Arsenal – and finishes with Monday’s 8pm encounter at Wembley between Spurs and Watford.

Guaranteed to run, this costs £5 to enter and is a multi-entry game, which means you can select up to two teams. The top 50 places pay out – there’s a minimum win-back of £10, with £100 going to the first place.

You can open an account and get started immediately.

If you register and deposit £5 or more, Yahoo will also give you a £50 bonus to be used as cash to enter paid contests.

    Help Needed!

I made massive strides with 87 points last week using Free Hit to put me in 1st and or 2nd in my cash leagues and in the lead for the monthly prize by 5 points in another league.
Unfortunately my team reverts back to the below and my rivals seem to have both salah and sterling. So Mahrez to Sterling will just negate his threat of a big haul for rivals and I was hoping to get rid of Burnley players for BB in GW37

    De Gea Ryan
    Alonso Monreal Lowton Duffy Chilwell
    Alli Willian Mahrez A.King Kenedy
    Lukaku Kane Wood

How should I use my FT? 0.1 in the bank
    a) Mahrez to Sane
    b) Alonso to Walker
    c) Lukaku to Jesus
    d) take a hit/ multiple changes
    e) save transfer for DGW

I think Sterling will still outscore Sane comfortably; If you can afford Willian to Sterling, I'd say that! If not and you want rid of Wood, maybe Ayew and Sterling for the two

Hey guys, holding a 20 point lead and my rival has Eriksen who could haul this weekend at home to Watford.

I'm 0.1 short on doing Mahrez > Eriksen (who I'd like regardless) but should I enable with Bailly > Naughton and take a -4 hit this week or do something else? Naughton could repay the hit during the DGW37. 1 FT and 0.7 ITB

    DDG - Hennessey
    Bailly - Alonso - Lowton - Long - Morgan
    Salah - Willian - Son - Mahrez - GroB
    Lukaku - Vardy - Barnes.

It’s safe for Mark to disclose words directly from managers mouths.

However, AE could be wrong. We don’t now their source. Yes they’ve been right, and I will continue to take their word for it. Mentioning it on the FPL show would essentially be legitimising it.

How are using stats unfair? That's just research.

This is a leak. There's a reason it's called a leak. Because it's not supposed to be out yet, but it's out due to some unknown sources. The game is about predicting lineups and points, not just points. We're getting questions and answers to an exam in advance.

Looking at publicly available information on twitter is research too...How is it different? Except for the fact that Scout owners have access to information that is paid for, whereas anyone can access twitter.

            Your argument is inherently contradictory.

Being publicly available doesn't automatically make it fair. The game is about predicting lineups as well as points. Giving us the lineups basically takes half the game away. Our deadlines are an hour before the first game, not at kickoff - because we are meant to predict the lineups.

Looking at stats doesn't give us anything, it just helps us make predictions. Giving lineups takes away any predictions you have to make yourself.

How on earth does giving lineups basically take 'half' the game away?! It's a minor part of it! Managers give line up information all the time - it's out there, like a twitter account with 30,000 followers which is clearly being given information from the club! It's not smoke and mirrors - it's someone giving someone the team news, and it's occasionally available from other sources too (Arsenal for example).

And like line ups - stats give us an indication about a game which hasn't been played. Knowing how many big changes etc a player has been getting DOES give me an advantage and enables me to make a better prediction, just like line ups.

Managers give some lineup information and some hints, they don't give out the complete exact lineup.

"like a twitter account with 30,000 followers which is clearly being given information from the club!"

                  - It's still a leak. Official lineups are out an hour before the deadline.

Don't know what you're talking about regarding Arsenal. Do you mean last week? Arsene Wenger didn't give out the lineup. He gave hints. You still have your decision to make from the hints.

"Knowing how many big changes etc a player has been getting DOES give me an advantage and enables me to make a better prediction, just like line ups."

                  - Enables you to make a better PREDICTION. Yes, you're still the one making the prediction. On the other hand, if you have your lineup, what lineup are you predicting? You have no prediction to make. You have no work to do.

I'm talking about the Arsenal team leaks that happen occasionally, and were especially prominent last season.

Line ups also enables you to make a better PREDICTION. Last time I check the Liverpool source wasn't telling me goal scorers. Stats, leaked line ups, getting access to opinions of top fantasy football players is all giving us an 'unfair' advantage if you want to represent it in those terms. But you can't go ahead and claim some things are an advantage and others not, as if you define subjective categories objectively. The mass criticism you are getting on here is produced by the inherent contradiction in your logic, and it's baffling that you can't see that, despite numerous posters prompting it. Look at the likes and look at the comments.

If you have to bring upvotes into the argument, you clearly have no arguments left yourself.

I often get upvotes and often get upvoted against me. It doesn't matter either way. When I commented on the hot topic on this matter, I got upvoted.

"Line ups also enables you to make a better PREDICTION. Last time I check the Liverpool source wasn't telling me goal scorers."

                      - No source can possibly tell you goalscorers. Unless they have foresight. So this is a ridiculous argument.

                      - No, if they give you lineups, you don't have to predict lineups. Because they've given it to you. I'm baffled that this is being argued lol. You're confusing 2 different things. Lineups are one thing. Goalscorers and points are another. I'm saying they're giving you one part that you should be predicting yourself as it's a part of the game. What part of this is hard to understand?

What about folk that don't have time to look at stats or can't afford it? They overrated anyway but it's basically using someone else's work (Opta) to pick your team. If using somone else information on a team lineup is unfair then so is that

Stats just guide you. Help you make decisions and predictions. They in no way guarantee you're getting points. In fact, quite often they don't help. The ultimate decision is still yours.

Giving away lineups means you have no decision to make on your part. You just take it and use it and you know what you're getting. No predicting to do yourself.

Someone giving you lineup also does not guarantee points. Lineup could be wrong, your player may not score, get injured. Also everytime lineup is leaked its a risk for you to believe it or not. As long as its not fixing like IPL it cant be called cheating. If you think its cheating then fine do something about it. If cant do anything then accept it with pinch of salt the fact that everything isnt fair in life be it game or not. Dont know who is bigger fool, those convincing you to change your ignorant reality or you who is consumed in idealistic fair play dream

                Lol.

"Someone giving you lineup also does not guarantee points. Lineup could be wrong, your player may not score, get injured."

                - Lineups have nothing to do with points. They are 2 separate things. They are giving you the lineups, and by doing so, you don't have to predict the lineups yourself, which is a part of the game. A player not scoring or getting injured has no relevance to lineups, so it's ridiculous you even brought it up. And yes, lineup could be wrong, but they have been 100% accurate so far, and as long as we trust it, follow it and it remains accurate, it doesn't make a difference.

"If cant do anything then accept it with pinch of salt the fact that everything isnt fair in life be it game or not."

                - You just admitted it wasn't fair yourself, so thanks for agreeing with me.

Its not about being fair or not. Its your problem with unfairness.
FYI plz check Fpl prize list..Its ONLY for scoring points NOT for predicting lineups as you stupidly assume out of nowhere

PFA Chairman urged to apologise after he made a joke about Kane claiming Stoke goal

He said in his speech: “Harry Kane is so prolific that he is able to score without touching the ball.”

It is understood Kane and his family are furious and see the jokes being made at the striker’s expense as a form of bullying.
