Our partner game Yahoo are offering yet another big-money contest for Fantasy managers this weekend.

They have a Premier League £2k Saturday contest which takes in all six of that day’s matches from 3pm onwards, finishing with the 5.30pm kick-off between Swansea City and Chelsea at the Liberty Stadium.

The contest is guaranteed to run, costs £5 to enter and is a multi-entry game, which means you can select up to four teams. The top 100 places pay out – there’s a minimum win-back of £10, with £200 going to the first place.

Driven by Opta data, the Yahoo game has a unique scoring system which is ideal for those members of our community on the lookout for a Daily Fantasy Sports game.

If you’re new to Yahoo, you can sign up and claim a free £50 in credit to your account when you deposit just £5. Promo code: Fantasy50.

Before getting started on your lineup, it’s worth checking out our Strategy Guide, which assesses the types of players who profit from the rule set.

FFS Strongest XI

Martin Dubravka – £14
Victor Moses – £16
Florent Hadergjonaj – £10
James Tarkowski – £14
Johann Berg Gudmundsson – £17
Riyad Mahrez – £24
Willian – £22
Luka Milivojevic – £18
Wilfried Zaha – £23
Ayoze Perez – £17
Charlie Austin – £18

A home encounter with West Brom brings Newcastle’s Martin Dubravka into our weekend line-up. Rafa Benitez’s side have been in fine form at both ends of the pitch in front of their own fans, winning each of the last four at St James’ Park in a run that has seen them concede just one goal. Meanwhile, the Baggies arrive having scored just nine goals away from home. The Yahoo scoring system – which awards goalkeepers points for wins or draws and double the number of points as defenders for a clean sheet – should benefit the on-loan Slovakian.

A goal and assist away to Burnley last time out highlights the attacking threat of Victor Moses as Chelsea make their way to Swansea. Now up to three goals and five assists for the season, the right wing-back has fired 31 attempts on goal – a tally bettered only by his suspended team-mate Marcos Alonso among Yahoo defenders. Given that the Swans have scored just two goals in their last five league matches, Antonio Conte’s side could be in line for a fifteenth clean sheet of the campaign in Saturday’s late kick-off.

Huddersfield’s Florent Hadergjonaj looks a snip at just £10 for the visit of Everton. Over his last six matches, the raiding right-back is joint-top among defenders for chances created (11) and sits second and first respectively for crosses (47) and successful crosses (11). David Wagner’s men have upped their resilience at the John Smith’s of late, chalking up a pair of clean sheets in their last three home matches.

A home encounter with Brighton bodes well for Burnley’s James Tarkowski. Although The Clarets are without a clean sheet in the last five, their opponents have struggled for a cutting edge on the road and have failed to score in seven of their last ten away matches. At home, Tarkowski is ranked among Burnley’s top two players for successful tackles (23), interceptions (28) and blocks (18).

A Yahoo favourite, Johann Berg Gudmundsson offers multiple routes into the points for Burnley’s showdown with Brighton. In the last six matches, the Icelandic international has delivered four assists and sits among the top two players for crosses (64) and successful crosses (15). Gudmundsson has recorded 14 shots and as many key passes, supplementing this with eight successful tackles and six interceptions in that period.

Riyad Mahrez is our preferred Leicester pick for the trip to a Crystal Palace side that’s without a clean sheet in their last five at Selhurst Park. Away from home, the Algerian has played a part in 44% of his side’s goals when on the pitch – more than Jamie Vardy’s 41%. Mahrez is ranked first for shots (36), key passes (22) and fouls won (26) among the Foxes’ contingent on the road and claims second spot for successful crosses and shots on target (14 apiece).

Rested for Chelsea’s second match of Double Gameweek 34, we expect Willian to return to the teamsheet for the trip to Swansea. Over his last six matches, the Brazilian has tallied two goals and an assist, recording more shots (19) and efforts on target (ten) than any team-mate, in addition to supplying 15 key passes. The Swans, meanwhile, have one clean sheet in seven attempts, conceding 14 times in that run.

With three goals and two assists apiece over their last six matches, Luka Milivojevic and Wilfried Zaha will be key figures as Crystal Palace look to clinch survival at home to Leicester.

Dead-ball specialist Milivojevic is among the Eagles’ top three players for both successful tackles (13) and interceptions (13) during this period, completing more passes (237) than any team-mate.

Meanwhile, Zaha’s new role up front means that he leads the way for shots (12), efforts in the box (seven) and attempts on target (seven) for Roy Hodgson’s side. Furthermore, he has been fouled 16 times from Gameweek 30 onwards, more than any player in the Premier League.

Ayoze Perez has been instrumental in Newcastle’s recent improvement, thanks to three goals and a pair of assists in the last four Gameweeks. A total of 13 efforts on goal in that period is more than any player from Yahoo’s Saturday contest, with the Spaniard’s work-rate – seven successful tackles and four interceptions – also profiting from the scoring system. He now faces a West Brom backline that have managed just two clean sheets in their last 16 road trips.

Back on the Southampton teamsheet for last weekend’s FA Cup semi-final clash with Chelsea, Charlie Austin looks set to lead the line for a vital home encounter against Bournemouth. With Mark Hughes’ men in desperate need of the points, Austin’s threat in the box could punish a Cherries defence that has managed just one clean sheet in their last 22 attempts. In an injury-hit season, Austin’s average of 104 minutes per goal is bettered only by Mohamed Salah (85.7) and Sergio Aguero (93.8) in 2017/18.

As Yahoo allows late swaps up until each kick-off, our listed line-up may well be subject to change.

The Weekend Contests

As well as the Premier League £2k Saturday contest, Yahoo are also offering a pair of Premier League £1k Sunday contest.

This consists of both matches from that day – West Ham vs Man City and Man United vs Arsenal – and finishes with Monday’s 8pm encounter at Wembley between Spurs and Watford.

Guaranteed to run, this costs £5 to enter and is a multi-entry game, which means you can select up to two teams. The top 50 places pay out – there’s a minimum win-back of £10, with £100 going to the first place.

You can open an account and get started immediately.

If you register and deposit £5 or more, Yahoo will also give you a £50 bonus to be used as cash to enter paid contests.

Register here to claim the bonus.

You must be over 18 years of age, resident in the UK, and of legal capacity to register with Yahoo Daily Sports and open an Account. If you sign up, please always play responsibly.

Anyone out there who's winning a MiniLeague with one main competitor and planning on just matching their competitors team?
It seems the smart (but boring) thing to do right?
Generally I would have worked under the assumption that I've the better team so I'll gain more points in the long term, but with a small sample size of games this is no longer applicable.

It's quite easy for me to do this as
    (a) I've more money
    (b) my team is quite similar to his already
    (c) my opponent never makes any strange transfers, they've all been well heralded here.

So matching transfers should be easy enough, I just keep an eye on his transfers and money in the bank (and paid price for players that have been in his team a while, not many due to WC).
So if I see his bank drop by 0.1 I can be pretty certain it means he transferred Mahrez to Sterling.
But it's not foolproof, it could also mean he transferred Trippier to Mawson.
Obviously I only match if I feel its a sensible transfer as well.

What do you think? Any other hints on how to transfer match?

This to me is like a sprinter or a jockey looking over his shoulder. You are told not to do it !!!!
Just play your own team and try and enjoy. It would feel so much better if you just went for it IMO.

There are a number of luxury transfers I can make, but I also have a team which contains Christensen and I am not convinced that Jesus will outscore Lukaku by a huge margin, nor Sterling Mahrez, so I think I will sit slightly ugly and see what happens.

Seems you have similar problem as I . Can't afford Mahrez -> Sterling for free, so debating Mahrez + Sterling -> Sterling + Sot'on, Newcastle or Swans defender for a hit. But not sure it's worth the hit.

Would you Mahrez-Sterling to free? I have the exact change. I just have a horrible feeling he'll be benched. But then, even if he is, Mahrez probably scores 2 points...

I would do that, even though there's a chance it could backfire if Sterling is benched,

Lots of forward options that I want. I survived half the season without him before. I could remove Vardy instead, but the option above might be the best use of money and points (only one hit and can still afford a City mid next week). Not to mention that I'm chasing 12pts in my ML

Certainly worth considering, though it's an interesting question whether I should spend the hit this week or next week (assuming I'll take one hit, which I probably will). More points benefit in theory if I do it this week, though the extra information next week could be more valuable, I suppose...

The full backs use a lot of stamina so if he has Rose as an option he may play he to keep Davies fresh.

To be honest, if Davies misses a game, but gets and assist in one of his next three he will still likely outscore Vertonghen.

If Rose is back, he'll play one of the two DGW37 fixtures. What I'm pondering is if it worth having Davies for one game or Vert for the two...

I think while he's still a Spurs player Poch will still want him to play when he thinks its necessary. I'd expect just a SGW for Davies in the double if Rose's back fit - that's how Poch has been managing his fullbacks all season, so I doubt he'll change now.

Which is the better upgrade for 37? One move would rule out the other.

    A) Willian to Sane
    B) Vardy to Jesus

    Good to go?

    De Gea (Karnezis)
Robertson - BDavies - *Alonso (Chilwell, Mustafi)
    Son - Salah (V) - Mahrez - Milivojevic (Willian)
    Vardy - (L)ukaku - Barnes

1ft - 0.4 itb * Alonso to Smalling or Alonso, Mahrez & Lukaku > Smalling, Sterling & (K)ane -8 hit, as ML Rival has below team (i'm just +8 points ahead).

    Ederson (Ryan)
Lowton - Tomkins - Valencia (Tarkowski, Morgan)
Ritchie - Salah - Sterling - Zaha (Lingard)
    Jesus - Kane - Wood
    2.0 itb

    Any advice gratefully accepted, thanks.

I'd fancy both to get 7-8 points.

    DDG
Christensen (Swa) Lowton (BHA) Long (BHA) (Morgan, Duffy)
Salah (STK)© Willian (Swa) Lingard (ARS) Mahrez (CPL)
Vardy (cpl) Lukaku (ARS) Kane (WAT)

Need some City love, NIL in the bank.

    A. Mahrez > Sterling, and to fund it (-4):

    B Lukaku > Jesus
    C Christensen > Mawson/Laporte
    D Willian > Arnie/Ramsey

Has to be A and B right given City's DGW fixtures and uncertainty over Laporte...

Am I good to save my ft here? Ahead of a massive dgw37 splurge?

Or do I get jesus for lukaku??

    Ddg (ryan)
    Vert tarko lowton (Alonso morgan)
    Salah mahrez Willian mili (gros)
    Kane (c) lukaku Barnes

    Thanks

I have similar and thinking Mahrez/Luk > Sterling/Jesus. Both for this week and DGW - City seem to be goals galore

Can do. Can't resist the Mahrez to Sterling move myself, or Kaku to Jesus.
As a suffering Hammer I can tell you that we couldn't deal with Jesus last time I saw him play us. Silva likewise.

I'm 0.1 short of mahrez to sterling....

The thing that is putting me off lukaku to jesus is the fact arsenal will rotate so heavily this weekend v united....
