The Fantasy Premier League (FPL) season might be drawing to a close, but arguably the most important Gameweek still remains on the docket.

With 16 fixtures – more than any other Gameweek this season – scheduled across six days of football, Double Gameweek 37 promises managers their best opportunity to climb the rankings.

Moreover, with five of the league’s top six sides in possession of two fixtures, a wide range of premium options find themselves vying for our attention.

Doubling the importance of this Gameweek is the high number of managers who retain one of the game’s two highest-yield chips for use across these fixtures.

Those who have resisted the urge to spend either the Triple Captain or Bench Boost chip before this weekend will find themselves spoiled for choice, with a plethora of captaincy picks and budget bench options at their disposal.

With this in mind, this week’s second article for members will be using our expected goals and goals conceded data to break down the fixtures of this upcoming Gameweek to identify sides – and players – who look best placed to prosper.

Az says a lot of things. I like that he makes decisions based on his own understanding of logic and the mechanics of the game, but I often find his logic to be flawed, like he falls for common myths and actually underthinks things.

To be fair, though, it's just hard to deliver your full opinions in bitesize chunks. I'm sure people would think the same of me if they heard me talk, though 🙂

I don't think Az would be interested in debating with a low-life like me. I get the feeling they'd prefer me to disappear from the sight altogether haha.

But I'd happily attempt to defend my Kane-selling thought process. And I'm sure he'd be reasonable enough to consider my points and retort 🙂

I had the option of bringing Kane or Jesus in for Lukaku last week. Went Kane.

If I had brought in Jesus instead, there would've been so many interesting moves I could've done with my team. I could've sold Salah and Willian for KDB and Eriksen/Alli for a -4, and kept Vardy (who I kind of want for this week). But with Kane, I'm stuck with Willian now and no way to get KDB unless I take a -8. Slight regret and would regret even more if he gets a low score.

Yeah having no Kane can help you feel much better about the rest of your team. I went Kaneless from GW18 - 33, and did just fine, and I'd be doing a lot better if I went Kaneless from GW1.

    G2G on -4?

Seeing Rose in training isn't evidence he will play ahead of Bavies.

        1. Deulofail
          • 9 Years
          7 years, 7 months ago

Short memory or new here? It's happened 2 or 3 times this season that people are adamant Bavies is nailed, despite Rose coming back to fitness. They were wrong.

This new of being in training is evidence of him coming back to fitness. It doesn't mean he'll necessarily be match fit, because there are only 2GWs left.

But I'm saying that the evidence wouldn't matter anyway, because people here believe what they want about Bavies anyway.

          1. djenzio

            7 years, 7 months ago

I've been here a lot longer than you, trust me. All I'm saying his a training picture isn't evidence Bavies does or doesn't start. Anyone, myself included, bought him in knowing the risk/ It might pay off like last season, when Rose was due back every week but didn't play for the rest of the season, he might backfire and Bavies only plays one game in the next three.

    2. I Member
      • 10 Years
      7 years, 7 months ago

How folks on here have convinced themselves that Rose won't get a game for the rest of the season is beyond me. Davies could still be the best Spurs defender to own due to his attacking threat but Vertonghen is the safe pick.

      1. djenzio
        • 11 Years
        7 years, 7 months ago

No doubt Bavies is a risk, but showing a picture of Rose training doesn't mean he will definitely start a game. Picking a Spurs fullback has always been risky. Vert could be rested too, he might play Toby + Sanchez in one game. We don't know.

          • 9 Years

You're arguing against an imaginary enemy. No-one said this picture means he will start. You just said that Bavies is a risk (ie not nailed). That's also what you're arguing about! 😆 You are beyond help!

"Doesn't matter what the evidence, people on here will always believe Davies is nailed"

You said that picture of Rose back in training means Davies is no longer nailed. Very few players, especially from the top6 teams, are nailed at this stage of the season. Bavies has never been a fully nailed on player, but he plays the majority of games due to both Rose's poor injury record and his lengthy recoveries.

            1. Deulofail

"No doubt Bavies is a risk"

Why is he a risk? Perhaps because Rose could be available for selection soon?

He has played Son as a LWB before. When Toby was fit Spurs played that system a lot. Rose is not the sole threat to Bavies.

In case I'm reading it wrong.
Does it say it expects man city to score 3.5 and Southampton 2.5?
So city will score 1 more than the saints?

Sterling is the logical option based on current form/stats; Kane is the nostalgic option based on current form/stats. The chance of Sterling not starting both makes it all the more difficult which brings Jesus in to the equation. Decisions decisions!

Anyone get rid of Salah? As a Liverpool fan, he seems VERY fatigued.

Is Jesus a must. Have Kane TC and Sterling, Jesus would mean at least -8...

Sterling is like what Messi was for Pep.
He likes him And won't rest him. Think I'll put the TC on Sterling.

Let’s be honest, if we knew sterling was to play both games, we’d all captain him

Exactly, but the fear of him missing out is why I'm going Jesus

Hello All, really having troubles deciding if I should take -12 (on bench boost) to try and catch a 25 point lead. What are the chances that:

      a) robertson starts this weekend
      b) david silva plays at least 1 of the 2 games

Im chasing in ML, I have TC and they don’t. So should I use it on:

      A. Sterling
      B. Kane
      C. Jesus
      D. Other?

      Thanks guys

I’m going with sterling because he’ll play at least one, in which he could score massive, let alone two

Who do you prefer for this week?

      Sane or KDB
