We’ve partnered with our old friends at PlayON for the last Gameweek of the season to give you the heads up on the opportunity to win a share of thousands in guaranteed cash prizes.
PlayON offering a guaranteed prize pot of £5,000 for their daily Fantasy game over Sunday’s matches.
With very little left on the line for most of the top flight clubs, Gameweek 38 usually ends up a high-scoring one as defensive organisation melts away. That’s why daily Fantasy becomes even more popular at this stage.
We’ve got all the details on how to enter PlayON’s prize pot, as well as some tips to help give you the best chance of winning a share of it.
New sign-ups can also benefit from a first deposit bonus which gives you a free entry worth £20 when you deposit £20 or more.
WHAT IS PLAYON?
Many of our readers will be well acquainted with PlayON and their daily Fantasy games as we have worked together before.
Their Daily Fantasy Sports allows players to pick Fantasy teams for any number of sports including cricket, rugby union and, of course, football. They are also Official Partners of the NBA and Formula One are becoming equity shareholders with the company. From next season PlayON customers will be even able to watch races live on the website while following their Fantasy Formula One teams too.
As for their Premier League offering, managers are given a budget of £100m, just as they are in Fantasy Premier League. But, unlike FPL, there are no restrictions on the number of players you can own from one team, provided your squad falls within the £100m limit.
You must pick your starting 11 in the 4-4-2 formation, and there is now captain to select.
Another huge advantage handed to those competing on PlayON is that the deadline for submitting your team is the time the Gameweek kicks off.
That will give Fantasy managers an hour in which to make final changes with all the teamsheets confirmed. You can change your line-up as many times as you want before kick-off. It is your most recently saved XI which will be active for all the games you have chosen to enter.
Player prices change from week-to-week based on an algorithm assessing recent displays. That means some players who are expensive in FPL may well be available as a bargain if they have had a few weeks of poor form. That means that you have the opportunity to find some cut-price options who could bring in a big haul of points over Sunday’s matches.
On top of the £5,000 offering for the final day of the season, users can also enter one-on-one competitions, private multiplayer matches or multiplayer games against the general public. Managers can also enter multiple times into the game.
You can read more about what PlayON offers as well as their rules for Premier League Fantasy on their website. The £5,000 game has an entry limit of 250 people and when it fills it fills, so get your entry in early, and you can still edit your team right up until kick off.
WHY SHOULD I PLAY?
Experienced and knowledgeable Fantasy managers will have a real edge when entering games with PlayON because it’s the underlying statistics that can make all the difference to chances of success.
The points scoring system (see below) favours those who are have researched detailed aspects of Fantasy Football, such as shots on target, key passes and clearances made.
All of this data is easily accessible in our Members area, where you can further boost your chances of success with PlayON by comparing it with attacking and defensive numbers recorded by the opponents of your potential transfer targets.
Being able to undertake that level of research will prove invaluable when hoping to beat non-members and win a big share of the £5,000 with PlayON.

HOW DO I SET UP A TEAM FOR GAMEWEEK 38?
Head to PlayON’s website and either create an account or sign into an existing one. Then click on the ‘Teams’ tab at the top of the page and select ‘Pick a new team’.
Next, choose ‘Football’ from the Sport drop-down box, ‘EPL English Premier League’ under Competition and ‘EPL Final Day’ from Timeframe.
You will then be taken to the team selection stage where you can add players to your side.
WHO SHOULD I PICK FOR MY TEAM?
We’ve used statistics found in our Members area to pick out four players we believe will perform well in Gameweek 38 – with a specific eye on who could be well rewarded by the extra features built into PlayON’s points scoring system.
Sergio Romero (£5.3m)
The most attractive bargain option on the final weekend looks to be Manchester United’s second-choice goalkeeper Sergio Romero, in line for a start against Watford. Manager José Mourinho revealed David De Gea (£8.9m) would be rested after clinching the Premier League Golden Glove award in the 0-0 draw at West Ham – allowing Romero to save you a huge chunk of your PlayON budget.
The Argentinian could help United improve on a joint-best tally of 11 home clean sheets considering opponents Watford come to Old Trafford after seven consecutive away matches without a goal. You have to go all the way back to January 2 for the last time Javi Gracia’s outfit scored on the road. Despite that, the Hornets rank ninth for attempts away from home (10.83 per match) across the season, so there should be plenty of opportunity for Romero to pick up some extras at 200 points per save.
More forthcoming than usual in his post-match press conference at the London Stadium, Mourinho also explained that mid-range options Marcus Rashford (£9.2m) and Anthony Martial (£10.3m) would start in Gameweek 38.”
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (£16.0m)
Not only are players rewarded for their goals with PlayON, they also receive extra points for shots on target. Accordingly, Arsenal’s Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang looks set to profit from both avenues as his side travel to Huddersfield Town in Gameweek 38.
In the last six matches, Aubameyang has the highest number of accurate efforts (eight) compared to other premium forwards, apart from Mohamed Salah (who falls into that category in PlayON’s Fantasy game).
With 1,000 points on offer for a goal, Aubameyang could also add another 200 a time if he continues to land additional shots on target against a Huddersfield side who have allowed 3.5 shots on target per match in their last six.
Charlie Austin (£8.9m)
If you want a PlayONdifferential, then Charlie Austin is definitely worth a look.
While his next opponents Manchester City rank second-best for fewest shots on target conceded in their last four matches (eight), the Southampton striker is proving one of the most accurate forwards of late.
In the last six matches, no player has recorded more attempts on target than Austin’s 11.
Johann Berg Gudmundsson (£10.2m)
The fact that PlayON awards 100 points per chance created is good news for anyone considering the Burnley man.
In his last four matches, Gudmundsson has created 12 chances for the Clarets; no midfielder has more in that time. Mesut Ozil and Christian Eriksen are level with the Clarets winger; such is the company he is keeping.
Sean Dyche’s men face a final day of the season meeting with Bournemouth, who are specialists when it comes to affording chances to their opponents. In the last six matches, the Cherries have conceded a total of 88, only Brighton (91), West Ham United (95) and Stoke City (106) allowed more.
James Tomkins (£9.1m)
As well as three points per minute awarded for clean sheets, PlayOn gives out 100 for interceptions, 50 for tackles and 25 for clearances. Those additional opportunities mean this Crystal Palace man looks your best chance for pulling in defensive returns from multiple routes.
No defender has recorded more clearances in their last four matches than Tomkins (45). He won four tackles in that time and pulled off five interceptions too.
Accordingly, he ranks second on the Clearances, Blocks and Interceptions (CBI) metric for the last four Gameweeks (51). Only Shane Duffy and Ryan Shawcross boast higher numbers (52) here, but neither of them feel like candidates for inclusion in your PlayON squad.
The Brighton man is tasked with shackling the ruthless Liverpool attack while Shawcross will face a Swansea side throwing caution to the wind in a desperate attempt to avoid relegation.
On the other hand, Tomkins’ opposition is the only other side whose fate has already been mathematically sealed, as West Bromwich Albion visit Selhurst Park.
The Baggies have six goals in their last five and are level with Arsenal, Tottenham and Bournemouth ranking third for big chances over the last four matches (eight) – so they are likely to ask some questions of Palace’s defence.
But the Eagles have kept two clean sheets in their last three, both of those against sides with nothing left to play for this season (Watford and Leicester City).
So owning Tomkins could help you strike the perfect balance between clean sheet points and those valuable extras.
