Set-pieces continue to dominate the World Cup Fantasy with many of the top performers finding the net from penalties, corners and free-kicks.

So we’ve collated all the data available to us so Members can assess which nations are the best to invest in for the knockout stages of the World Cup.

It would appear that Uruguay, Spain, Brazil and England are the teams worth looking at, while Croatia look susceptible to set-pieces defensively.

READ NEXT: Our transfer tips and stats for the World Cup Fantasy knockout stages

Our research includes each team’s penalty takers based on who has been handed the responsibility at the tournament itself, in qualifying and in friendlies too.

We’ve listed how many of each type of set-piece each player has taken, but if there is no number next to their name it’s because they took at least one in qualifying and/or warm-up games but are yet to take one at the World Cup itself.

We’ve also calculated which teams concede the most fouls and attempts from set-plays too to help you pick the best match-up from the fixtures.

To clarify, the ‘Attempts from set plays’ section combines those who have shot from direct free-kicks or those who have latched onto the end of a corner.

The deadline for Gameround 4 is at 15:00 BST on Saturday June 30, so make sure you sort your team in time.

World Cup Data

We’re delighted to offer World Cup data as an early addition to our regular season offering to help those playing Fantasy games over the summer.

We’ve secured Opta data, not only for the tournament itself, but also from the Qualifying Rounds for Europe and South America and for international friendlies involving the participating nations. This includes all the matches played right up to the tournament kick-off.

Just to stress, this World Cup offering comes packaged with the regular Fantasy Football Scout membership.

    How’s it looking? 0.8 ITB

    Alisson Uzoho
    Meunier Carvajal Trippier Granqvist RRod
    Coutinho Modric Isco
    Kane Hazard Griezmann

(Feels wrong going w/o Messi / CR7 but pretty happy w/ team)

I know you've already used your BB (just so you can beat us in the community tournament 😛 ) but I would still have a more balanced team to afford me the opportunity to swap keepers if needed and to sub blanks.

Why not improve the bench and sub them incase some of your players dont perform.

Those Swiss lads know how to grind out a result and are a tough team to beat. They are living up to their FIFA ranking of 6th in the world.

I'm thinking tight game, probably Switzerland.

As a match-up it reminds me of Switzerland vs. Ukraine at the same stage in 2006. No idea why I remember the game so well given how bad it was, but basically it finished 0-0 after extra time with practically nothing of note happening and nobody wanting to score.

This carried into the penalty shootout, with more pens missed than scored.

    RMT

    Courtois • 3.9
    Meunier • Godin • Carvajal • R.Rodriguez • Granqvist
    Isco • Eriksen • Pogba • Layun • C.Sanchez
    Costa • Kane • Lukaku

A bit different, hoping that Brazil and Croatia are out in the R16/QF.

    1. JONALDINHO

Well, I think Belgium can beat Brazil, and I know Spain can beat Croatia so I'm probably going with that.

Coutinho and Quintero both great picks, but need some differentials, otherwise we will all have the same team.

He won't 'rest' him for sure. If anything, might go off around 75' if points secured vs Japan which would be good.

The event of a yellow and subsequent ban though is fairly probably

Looking close to final team. Some differentials as I’m chasing 20-30 points in Cash ML.

    Courtois
    Godin • Strinic • Ramos • Trippier
    Coutinho • Isco • Iniesta

And I know why you are using Sanchez, but why not get a player like Inui who is capable of attacking returns? Japan are more likely to go out but Columbia prob will too.

      Also you need more Brazil

Lingard - he has far more attacking upside and saves a little money for elsewhere. You could also downgrade further and bring Neymar in for a Belgium striker.

      I've got a side v. close to B.

Went for Hazard, and have gone for the Japanese keeper on Bench Boost rather than Olsen so that I can afford Granqvist/ Thiago Silva/ Quintero instead of Miranda / Trippier / Claesson.

      Might be worth considering...

How about Muslera, Granqvist and Quintero by downgrading Inui to a 4.4. Instead of Ochoa, Godin, Claesson. Inui will be out first round anyways and I doubt he'll do much vs Belgium.

Is Maguire nailed? Need a $5m defender. Already have Granquist, Carvajal, Miranda. Boyata seems to be replaced w/ Kompany.

How's this for a BB? No WC

    Courtois, Kawashima
    Carvajal, Miranda, Maguire, Rodriguez, Granqvist
    Coutinho, Modric, Isco, Quintero, Inui
    Kane, Lukaku, Griezmann

I would welcome even 2 points from Kawashima
There is no other GK below 5.0

Looks good - I'm on the same except Lovren-T.Silva-Godin instead of Miranda-Maguire-Rodriguez.

G2G i think - have wrestled with this BB side for ages!

      Good luck

I'd be tempted by Subasic over Muslera since you have Godin anyway.

    K a couple of things...

    1) hazard or lukaku (on hazard rn)
    2) Muslera alisson or courtois (have meunier rn)
    3) griez or costa (have isco and carvajal)

      1. Kaku the troll feasts against shyt teams plus japan will be rested for hazzard and they're quick
      2. I have muslera, it's all a tossup at GK, go with your gut
      3. Griez for cap day 1, Costa should get goals against Ruskies

Which poor-playing favorite will suddenly flip and play really well: Argentina, Spain, Portugal? I'm guessing Spain as they have the most potential.

You are asking a lot trying to predict that John T but it does happen that teams that play crap in the group stages turn it around in the knockouts.

Of the teams you mentioned i think Portugal will go deep.Their fundamentals are good and they came out of a tough group which might stand to them. The Argies have lots of crap players no manager as such and just do not have what it takes imo.Spain seem to have big defensive problems so i do not think they will win it but could go deep at the same time.

No wildcard/bench boost and these players would occupy my 4rd & 5th defensive spots & my 5th midfielder spot. (343)

    A) Granqvist, Sakai, Quintero
    B) Lovren Sakai Quintero
    C) Lovren Granqvist C.Sanchez

If those are your only options I'd go with C, a good defender is worth moor than mid at this stage in the comp

Taking a chance with captains with this side but it's a chance i'm willing to take considering the +'s looking forward that the team selection gives me (Triple Spain & triple Brazil rather than doubling on Belgium or Croatia their likely opponents in the quarters). BB'ing so no fodder just a decent 15. Will know France line-up before kick-off so L.Hernandez can be changed if need be? Backing Uruguay to qualify and Sweden over the Swiss. Anything you'd change? Thanks :

    Muslera Olsen
    Carvajal, Miranda, Maguire, Granqvist, L.Hernandez
    Coutinho, Isco, Modric, Quintero, Bentacur
    Lukaku, Neymar, Costa.
