Fantasy Premier League pre-season is well and truly underway at Fantasy Football Scout now that our official β€˜Pre-Season Tab’ is live on the website.

You can find it by clicking on ‘PRE-SEASON‘ on the toolbar above, or by CLICKING HERE.

Head over there now to check out all the FPL content we’ve produced so far this summer including Scout Reports on new signings, Moving Target articles on those who have switched allegiances as well as detailed research and analysis into the promoted sides and those back for another campaign in the top flight.

You can also find the complete pre-season fixture list for all 20 clubs. Southampton are the first Premier League side to play a pre-season fixture and as more and more of their rivals follow suit we’ll start adding the Scout Notes on those matches there so you can get an accurate fix on the predicted line-ups, goal-scorers and assisters for Gameweek 1.

We’ll be constantly updating the page all summer long so make sure you keep coming back to it. Every time there’s a new transfer who could do well in FPL or a pre-season encounter is played, you can read all about it there.

We already know several FPL prices for the new season and the game itself is expected to launch very soon so make sure you make the most of our content this summer!

World Cup Data

We’re delighted to offer World Cup data as an early addition to our regular season offering to help those playing Fantasy games over the summer.

We’ve secured Opta data, not only for the tournament itself, but also from the Qualifying Rounds for Europe and South America and for international friendlies involving the participating nations. This includes all the matches played right up to the tournament kick-off.

Just to stress, this World Cup offering comes packaged with the regular Fantasy Football Scout membership.

Check out this new trailer detailing the World Cup content below…

Willian to play as RM in a 4-4-2. So, Lingard maybe.
depends if you have England/Brazil cover too.

They're both in the South West Peninsula League now. Sidmouth still in the Devon & Exeter.

    Messi*, Lukaku, Kane
    D. Silva*, Coutinho, Quintero*, FODDER, FODDER
Mojica*, Meunier, T. Silva, Dalsgaard, Cacares
    Muslera, FODDER

Currently on taking in Trippier or Maguire in defence
    Modric and Pogba in midfielder
That leaves me able to pick any attacker, who??

Kicker: I have 8 total transfers left

Need some thoughts here, this is my team right now..

    Alisson / Subasic
    Lovren Pavard Trippier Granqvist Carvajal*
    Lingard Coutinho Isco* Inui* Quintero*
    Kane Mbappe Neymar

    Carva, Isco, Quintero out for

    A) Vida/Vrsaljko, Modric, Bentacur/Laxalt/Nandez (That would be triple Croatia defence and Alisson as backup)
    B) L. Hernandez (if he starts), Modric, Cherychev(?) (This would be double france defence and double croatia)

Sitting at a very high OR right now and seems like no one infront have more than one croatian defender, might be a good differntial if it comes through.

Also thinking of using max captain this round, do I have enough viable options for a potential differntial brace?

    Thoughts on this?

Thanks, well I think Modric might be worth it also if I consider max cap could come out as a decent differntial I think. Not sure who else I would pick. As it looks now Neymar & Mbappe and no belgians seems like a differntial up there also.

Well played. Your thinking very similar to me but I’m 7000 places behind and a lot of points away.

          - max captain could be good this round because there’s 4 games over 2 days instead of 2. There’s more room to get captain wrong this round.
          - Croatia must be most likely to keep a clean sheet with the Uruguay v France potentially a 0-0 if Cav out.

Yeah, I completely agree I guess many will captain Neymar then potentially moving on for Kane, which is very good options tho but I think I’ll risk it this round..

  22. Voting reminder and request, and double sign-in fix
    Geoff
    • Fantasy Football Scout Member
    • Has Moderation Rights
    • 13 Years
    7 years, 5 months ago

Following this week’s Hot Topic announcing the Undo Upvote feature and Members Only Hot Topics, I’m happy to announce another small tweak and give a reminder about voting.

    Double Sign-in
First, the double sign-in that was necessary to access the Members Area has been removed. It should be that now, if you’re signed in on the site and want to go to the Members Area, you don’t need to login again. This should work from the Members Area to the site as well.

    Sorting comments
I want to remind users that there are three different ways to sort comments in an article, which you can find immediately after the article, on the right before the comments.

    1. By Date
This is the default setting, and sorts comments by the date they were posted, with the newest content appearing later in the pages. The top of Page 1 has the first comments posted on an article.

    2. By Rating
This is an important setting that isn’t used as much as it should be and I suggest users try this, if they haven’t yet. Page 1 starts with the comments that have the highest rating - rating is calculated from upvotes – before sorting the comments without rating by date posted. This setting is designed to help users check in on what they might have missed while away. Because this setting changes to By Date after the posts with a rating, the last page still has the most recent comments.

    3. By Sticky
This is very much like By Rating, but it puts only comments that have been stickied (green) at the top of the first page before reverting to By Date. This is a way to see if Hot Topics or Stickies have happened in an article.

    Voting
This is also a strong reminder to use your upvote often, when there is content that is football related and valuable; basically, content that you think others would benefit by seeing. This is the user’s opportunity to curate content, particularly when the Sort By Rating setting is used.

Theoretically, if users are upvoting comments that are good, football related, and informative content, the Sort By Rating functionality can improve significantly and be a vital tool for users to view content. As discussed in the previous Hot Topic, user testing for this worked very well. It requires buy-in from users but when it works, it really is a better way to view content.

As an anonymous tool, the vote is a great way for any user to have their say and help influence the direction of site content.

I very much encourage users to try out the Sort By Rating option and to use their voting abilities!

One of the next changes will hopefully be letting users choose their own default Sort choice, so users who want Sort By Rating don't have to always switch to it from Sort By Date

In the past people have had their voting ability removed for using the upvote button "too much".

Yes but the context here is on upvoting content you think other members will find useful. I suppose there's a difference though, between upvoting because you agree on an opinion personally vs information that you find useful in the context of FF for all users

Yeah, ideally votes go more often to information than to opinion.

For example: if someone asks an A, B, or C question and a user responds 'A', and then 100 people upvote that response because the person picked the best option, we don't really want that top of the page.

I'll give your comment that I'm now responding to an upvote because it helps clarify, but it's obviously a sliding scale.

        This is the present πŸ˜‰

I'm not telling people to go and give upvotes to every one of their friends' posts, or every post on a page, or non-football posts. But I would like it to swing a bit in the other direction.

So many people have said they don't want to see RMT-type posts; Sort By Rating with a decent amount of people voting is a way to not see those as much as I assume they won't get many upvotes

          Good stuff. Makes sense =)

Any chance of making any of these "sort by" features our default once clicked? I don't know about other people but I think I'd quite like to have the top rated threads sorted by default every time I log on, and then I'd sort by date whenever I feel like it. Probably on live match days.

I have been starting to use the upvote more, although I still like to sort by Sticky as once you get past the green post, it's then sorted by date anyway.

Delighted there's going to be a default option soon; if I haven't been on the site in a day or two and have a bunch of articles to catch up on, I have to scroll down to each comment section, then Sort by Sticky and reload the page. Great news!

It's near the top of the list πŸ™‚

Yeah, ideally the stickied posts have a decent number of upvotes so they appear near the top in Sort By Rating too. But yes, the Sort By Sticky is a faster way to get through what you've missed, although you'll be obviously missing lots of discussion that isn't stickied

The last time England played Sweden in the World Cup.

I forgot just how brilliant Joe Cole's opening goal was, and also how dismal the defending was for the Swedes' second, to earn them a draw.

Is it just me or someone else thinks that Firmino at 9.5 is a great value vis-a-vis Lukaku. Going by their last season, the pricing look incredulous. I mean Firmino is a proper forward in a very attacking set up of a top 4 team. granted last season was last season, and this one may be different but with the same coach and same core group of players, there is a potential of lots of goals again.

For me too. Another price I am interested in is Aubameyang's. Especially if he is less than Luka and Kun (which is very likely), could be tempting.

Mahrez leaving may not be a good hing, but I think it’ll just mean Leicester have to play even more through Vardy as their main man. I’d say everything they do will be geared towards him, and he’ll also undisputedly have pens with no Mahrez lol

Plus the extr 2.0-2.5 from Vardy would go a long way on defence & midfield...

Yeah he's still great value. He's more of a creator and a space maker, but he's so central to the way Liverpool play that I can't see him sharing much pitch time with anyone. If Liverpool hone their attacking skills and get their new recruits to gel then I can see him being even better value next season.

Totally agree. As soon as last season finished I was thinking Bobby was a season keeper for this year at anything up to 10.0... the fact that he is only 9.5 is great. The World Cup might be the only complication though as he will probably win it & either miss the first couple of games, or return late to training & be behind the other early returnees.

Worst case he’ll be a GW4+ pick... he could actually get a bit of a price drop if he’s selected by a load of teams & then misses first few games.

But either way, I think Bobby is essential. Also thinking same on VVD. then it’s just a case of Salah at 13.0 or Mané at 9.0-ish for the third Liverpool slot hopefully!
