Best Burnley players to sign on FPL in 2018/19 – Complete Members’ Analysis

The vast array of budget options at Burnley last season has seen their players receive some price hikes, which may change our perception of their performances in 2018/19.

The underlying defensive numbers and some appealing early-season fixtures mean that Nick Pope and his centre-backs are still factoring in Fantasy plans at this stage.

Going forward there was surprisingly underwhelming attacking data considering that both Ashley Barnes and Chris Wood showed they could be a decent third striker in Fantasy teams.

Fantasy Football Scout members can now read on as we delve deep into the numbers from 2017/18 to weigh up the best players to look at now that the new game has launched.

World Cup Data

We’re delighted to offer World Cup data as an early addition to our regular season offering to help those playing Fantasy games over the summer.

We’ve secured Opta data, not only for the tournament itself, but also from the Qualifying Rounds for Europe and South America and for international friendlies involving the participating nations. This includes all the matches played right up to the tournament kick-off.

Just to stress, this World Cup offering comes packaged with the regular Fantasy Football Scout membership.

I know I've been fairly wrong with my predictions thus far in this WC, I think 50/50, but I really fancy England's chances against Croatia.

Need a big performance from Henderson. I’m much more confident than the Colombia game.

      Croatia look spent.

Draining quarter final. Croatia will need to make changes or likely to be tired and leggy towards the end of each half

Plus Southgate was criticised for resting players v Belgium. Making England fresher in general.

That was a very wise move. Freshness is huge over these tournaments. That and it meant getting in the easy half.

Croatia also looked vulnerable from set pieces today which just so happens to be England's specialty 🙂

Hello mate. I hope you are correct overall. I do think Croatia look poor on set pieces and we have been strong on them so it might prove decisive. I do fear we haven't played anyone decent yet so Wednesday could be very tough. It's a 50/50 game I think.

A classic Big Ron prediction then, "Well Jonathan, it could really go either way"
I'm going to tip England just based on the freshness and set pieces.
Croatia do have the creativity but also lack the proven goal scoring option with someone like Kane upfront
You really have to wonder how much Modric has left in the tank but he's certainty their difference maker

Oh one last advantage, "It's coming home lads!"
          Cheers!

Just saying. It made a massive difference. It made their attacking threat about West Brom level. Sweden are about similar. Tunisia worse. Panama worse again. But this isn't a criticism of England. If Germany Italy Holland and Spain cant get past Sweden and Russia, that isn't England's problem. Maybe the good teams aren't actually the good teams they think they are. But it's more a hint that so far, they haven't played teams of the level the final will offer and might realise the sudden jump in standard.

Yeah exactly. Everyone left is there on merit, but you’d snap up the opportunity to play Sweden and Croatia over Brazil and France (the route we’d have taken had we won the group)

Definitely. You'd be daft not to. I mean, no Sweden player would get in any top English dide, or the England side. They'd struggle against lower premier league sides. I never considered them a threat at amy point. Croatia could win, but shouldn't. Sweden never could I felt.

Ok sorry, i read that as atrack. If it was just forwards (so just Mandzukic) it's one player.
Rodriguez isn't a forward either but he is the key to Colombian attacks as is Modric often for Croatia though Rodriguez is far more important to Colombia

Mandzukic, Rebic, Perisic, have been fairly poor. The only goal that Rebic has scored thus far was the one gifted to him by Caballero

I'd regard those 2 as midfielders too but aye, they've scraped past Russia and Denmark. I feel they'll be knackered and the Panama game and Belgium rest match will have kept England too fresh for them

A real shame. But it’s something they can learn from for future generations.

Also many of these players have had to work their way up. Many have had to go on loan to lower leagues.. Kane, Lingard, Maguire

I texted a pal pre tournament saying I was concerned at the lack of media destroying the team before a tournament. They've always done it but this time everything seemed better prepared and the media seemed to finally get that they weren't helping.
Southgate hasn't put a foot wrong in his preperations my opinion. I think having someone young who understands what its like playing at these tournaments and modern millionaire players has been key

The expensive bit is a minor factor.

The Russians attacked us in Marseille. The TV has been full of shows for years now about how racist, homophobic and violent Russia is. Reggie Yates did a whole series on it.

Also expectations were so low. Why risk getting killed when we would lose after the group stage ?

Unfortunately England fans have an awful rep. Someone could be targeted for being English. If you’re from most other countries you’d be fine. The impression I get anyway b

It's all been hyped up to something it isn't. Russian hooligans tend to only fight hooligans, they rarely fight innocent people. It's a bit of a code of conduct that they live by. With their being no Dutch or Italian Ultras there will be very little organised ( a lot of it is set up over the internet by the competing firms) . The fact that not many English have gone over and stricter checks on who does, it was never going to happen

I have a feeling they'll have been warned by much scarier people than themselves too haha.
Plus probably a bit of national pride in not making their country look bad when the eyes are all on them.
I knew it would never happen but I did wonder if the racist chants might. Not even been any reports of that and our media wouldn't not report that if there was any chance at all.

I bet there is an element of that too yes with all that's gone off surrounding Russia of late. Any problems could have really destroyed any chance of hosting anything again. I expected the idiots with the racism and I'm sure it has been happening but gladly not to the extent we would expect. The stadiums are empty though so less people we probably see and hear less

This is the problem. They base their prices on who they play for rather than how good the player actually is. Lazy AF and is taking a lot of the fun out of the game IMO.

You've gotta spend the money somewhere. Otherwise you'd have a team like

      4.5, 4.0
      4.5, 4.5, 4.5, 4.0, 4.0, 4.0
      Deulofeu, Cairney, Albrighton, Brady, Ralls
      Zaha, Wood, Tosun

With a ton of money in the bank. Typically you want your starting XI to get you loads of points, which is something a 4.5 defender won't do.

I understand what you're getting at in terms of potential bargains, but until the season starts there's no way of gauging that. Right now Alonso sets us back £0.5m less than Gros, who finished 1 point less in midfield, so a switch to say 4-3-3 seems entirely justified for many.

        3. Deulofail
          • 8 Years
          5 years, 8 months ago

I'm not talking specifically about Alonso, because it's too early to say whether he an play the same role this year in a defensively solid team. But at least a 6.0 is likely to be worth the extra on one 4.5 defender. The same can't necessarily be said about a second 4.5 defender or a third, because the budget is limited and it'll affect the rest of the team.

Ah yes but I would rather a proven lad like Dinho even if not a popular FPL pick here as he is a dm on paper. He can get 150 pts this year if we get rolling again!

Also remember clean sheet points he got an extra 15 accordingly.
        5 goals 4 assists and 15 extra for 5.5m

Jota or Leiro could though work yea!
