Best set-pieces and penalty takers for World Cup Fantasy semi-finals

We are down to just four teams left at the World Cup, with set-pieces and penalties still expected to have a big impact on the outcome of the remaining matches.

Once again, we’ve pulled together all the relevant data so Fantasy Football Scout members can work out which nations are the best to invest in for the semi-finals and final.

It still looks like England are the most likely to score from set-piece situations in the last-four, while France could get some joy against Belgium.

READ NEXT: Our transfer tips and stats for the World Cup Fantasy semi-finals

Our research includes the penalty and corner-takers for each country, based on who has taken them either in Russia or, in some cases, in qualification. If there is no number next to a player’s name it’s because they took at least one in qualifying and/or warm-up games but are yet to take one at the World Cup itself.

We’ve also calculated which teams concede the most fouls and attempts from set-plays too to help you work out which nations are the most likely to get set-pieces in the first place.

To clarify, the ‘Attempts from set plays’ section combines those who have shot from direct free-kicks or those who have latched onto the end of a corner.

The deadline for Gameround 6 is at 19:00 BST on Tuesday July 10, so make sure you sort your team in time.

World Cup Data

We’re delighted to offer World Cup data as an early addition to our regular season offering to help those playing Fantasy games over the summer.

Just to stress, this World Cup offering comes packaged with the regular Fantasy Football Scout membership.

Cairney will definitely not be leaving the starting XI. Johansen and more so McDonald are ones at risk.

Seeing Kun in a lot of teams. Why the love? Surely he is a huge rotation risk with Jesus and if he does play he’ll be subbed early most matches for Jesus?

Jesus only had 1 more game and 6 more days worth of training than Kun- he'll start 1 game out of the first three

    3. Piggs Boson

Because Kun is the best striker in the league, and 5 goals in a single game is a real possibility.

He's pretty good but would you pay 11m for a striker who in theory could end up only playing Arsenal (a) and Newcastle (a) in the first 4 fixtures?

I expect Arsenal to be a really open game. Unai Emerates wants aggressive pressing, like City. Goals be a'flowin'.

Can see him coming off early in games, but not being benched from the start. Either way, Kun can do damage off the bench.

I've actually made the same argument myself as a justification for having Auba- once those 2 first games are out of the way he should be 100% nailed and ready to bang em in against the ****munchers

and as much as it pains me to say it- Chelsea are in a state at the moment. I doubt it will all be rosy by GW2.

An in depth Wolves pre-season guide from a Wolves fan.

Rui Patrico? Is Ryan Bennett a viable 4.0? Is Douglas worth it? Jota v Cavaleiro v Costa? What about the strikers?

Oh gosh they do look very tempting...
Had barely considered them at all, but I do remember watching them comfortably beat my team Sheff Utd, who were at the time competing for top six.
Might have to do some rearranging - Douglas doesn't really fit my current squad structure, which is currently a 4-3-3 with 4 very premium defenders. I could maybe look at getting Douglas as a 4th defender and rotate him with a 4th midfielder...

      Hmmm... Thanks for sharing!

They are 8th favorites because people bet on them thinking thats where they get the most value on a long shot bet, and the odds are changed accordingly, not because they are actual 8th favorites to win the PL.

At this point youre better off betting on them to get relegated.

The current best odds against Wolves winning the league are 300/1. Way behind the top six, who are all 28/1 or less.

The best odds against them getting relegated are only 9/1.

Perhaps the most relevant odds are 6/5 against Wolves finishing in the top ten.

My friend made this error. It's the same as FPL, so you shouldn't really be confused, but the fact we had unlimited transfers so often must be interfering with common sense, I think.

You can't "play arround" with the your team like we are doing with our FPL teams now. Even with our FPL team, each switch is classified as a transfer. It's just that we have unlimited transfers. In the McD's game, you have 5 free transfers, so when you've used them, you've used them, even though the deadline hasn't past. It asks you to confirm the transfers like in FPL too 😉

Really hope sarri takes conte's place
Then I can easily ignore alonso as he chelsea will no longer play at the back
And Morata will be a steal at 9.0 when there isn't rotation risk for him

KDB over Alli if money no issue right?

I hear there's some Danish lad at spurs who may split that price and be better than both. But kdb over alli for sure, way more consistent.

Robertson - Alonso - Cedric (Ogbonna) (Bennett)

    Salah(c) - Eriksen - Deulofeu - Cairney (Masuaku)

    Aguero - Firmino - Zaha

    World cup: maguire or trippier?

I've tragically been away for two weeks so missed the last couple of games. Is trip still the main crosser, and is maguire now the target in the box?

    Thanks

Messed around with a chip cheap defence and came up with this. Only one defender nailed but surely 2/4 will get out there too:

    Fabianski 4.0
Wan bissaka / bednarek / schelotto / peltier / Daniels
    Salah / sane / eriksen / mkhi / masuaku
    Kun / firmino / Zaha
