We can reveal that Mark Sutherns has played his Wildcard for Gameweek 3 of the 2018/19 Fantasy Premier League season.

Joe spoke to him in the latest episode of ScoutCast Extra Time on Friday afternoon to find out his reasons for hitting the button and making a raft of changes.

You can watch that video below or on our YouTube channel.

Mark explained that a lot of his decision revolved around how volatile the transfer market has been since Sergio Aguero‘s (£11.2m) hat-trick in Gameweek 2.

With managers all over the world chopping and changing Mark was faced with a situation where several of his original assets were facing price falls, and those he wanted to replace them with were going in the opposite direction.

Joe made the case for sticking with Mark’s original Gameweek 2 team but it will definitely be an all-new line-up in Gameweek 3.

In our latest edition of ScoutCast Extra Time, Mark takes us through two different teams he is considering before Saturday’s 11:30am deadline – one with Eden Hazard (£10.5m) and one without.

One free transfer to use or lose and looking to free up cash for improvements. I’m starting to doubt B Silva’s point potential.

    a) King > Ings or
    b) B Silva > Mkhitaryan/Pedro
    c) a & b

    Current team:
    Foster,
    Mendy, Robertson, Tomkins
    Salah, Richarlison, Mané, B Silva,
    Agüero, Arnautovic, King
    Subs: Fabianski, Cairney, Peltier, Boly

    Many thanks

This week I did Eriksen to Mkhi and King to firmino. I’d be wanting to get rid of King if I were you, but not sure if Ings is the right shout

I wouldn’t be so eager to ship off Bsilva just yet. Your teams attack is really similar to mine bar mané

I think you got it right. I have been considering Ings and Perreira as well on my WC, but not many games I would like to play them. Both cheap and good options, so no harm in benching them most of the time.

Bailly might be dropped after his last performance. And Eriksen was playing too deep and also he didn't take the set-pieces. For 9.5, no thanks.

Currently on Agüero captain, but the love for Salah here is swaying me. I read something a while back that said that it's better to go with the crowd for the captain choice because if you go against and get it wrong you're then overtaken by a lot of people, does this argument hold water?

Yes and the crowd are a good indicator. However in this case I think you go with your gut.

But you can overtake a lot of people going against the majority as well.
        High risk, high reward

          It's not really high risk.

Maybe not high risk, but that doesn’t matter.
You answering yes is (at least partially) wrong, because the potentialupside is just as big as the potential downside

The more differential your captaincy pick is, the higher the risk is regarding OR - but the reward is higher as well.

Just go with who you’ll think gets the most points. It will annoy you far more to fail if you have gone against your gut feeling.

Yes if you started well and want to maintain rank it is safer this week with Salah , but if you need to catch-up a bit in your mini-league then Aguero is still a good option and could work out!

Chasing ml's in gw3 is a bit silly if you don't mind me saying. Picking the one you think will score most points regardless of ownership is best. If in doubt, go with the poll.

Looking ahead to GW4, which combo do you think will score higher?

    A- Firmino King Hughes + 8 points

    B- Hazard Zaha Kamara

My mistake, when I posted this last night it showed up on the bottom of the last page, but now it's on this page. Thanks for the advice though!

Have a look at the captain sensible article. read the facts, judge the fixture, then go with what you feel is right. Try not to be swayed by the poll. Don't forget it's mostly backward looking

It's a straight up horrible advice. It only works because people are too intelligent to make awful decisions.
