Scarred by the resting of City duo Sergio Aguero and David Silva, Gameweek 27 will go down as one of the key periods in the Fantasy season as vice captains kicked in to gift or rob Fantasy managers of spoils. Sunday’s events didn’t fail to add their own twists with red cards, missed penalties and the return to form of Clint Demspey alongside the extraordinary contribution of Pavel Pogrebnyak.

Our members can now pick through all the statistics from the Gameweek and, as always, we’ve picked out some eye-catching numbers to digest. Of course, we’ve also included our prediction of where the Fantasy Premier League bonus will go…

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

This is my current squad with players in (____) who didnt play this GW.

    Vorm (SORENSEN)

    (RICHARDS) (KELLY) Simpson Enrique Evans

    (SILVA) (BALE) Sessegnon Walters (FERGUSON)

    Sturridge RVP (AGUERRO)

So I have 2 free transfers this week

    A) Sessegnon and Richards to Adam and Heitinga
    B) Sess and Richards to Giggs and Kompany
    C) Sess Richards and Aguerro to Adam Caulker and Rooney (-4)
    D) Sess Richards Aguerro to Suarez Young and defender for 6.1 (Cahill Sagna Walker another...)

Remember you're playing Vorm against City this week if you don't use a keeper transfer. But I guess he should rack up a few save points.

Out of those options I prefer D

4 point hit, doubling up on Pool defence

    All go?

Team at the moment for GW28 (2 free transfers and 1.8m in the BANK):

    Vorm(MCI)
    Evans(WBA) Simpson(ars) Kompany(swa)
    Pilkington(WIG) Demspey(avl) Bale(eve) Silva(swa)
    Ba(ars) Aguero(swa) RVP(NEW)

subs - Krul, McClean, Taiwo, Kelly.

Any of these worth a 4 point hit ya think?

    a) Aguero, Silva & Taiwo > Rooney, Gerrard & Enrique
    b) Aguero, Bale & Taiwo > Rooney, Adam & Enrique
    c) Aguero, Pilkington & Taiwo > Rooney, Surman, Enrique
    d) Aguero, Ba & Silva > Rooney, Suarez & Gerrard
    e) Aguero, Ba & Pilkington> Rooney, Suarez & Surman

I'd just do Aguero to Rooney myself, and consider selling Simpson.

I've got Santon and Krul and I'm not at all convinced by doubling on Newcastle's defence anymore, but I have more pressing transfers unfortunately.

tbh i'd sooner dump Taiwo than Simpson. I know what you mean about doubling up on Newcastle, i benched Krul this weekend. But even so, at least Simpson is a regular in a good side. Even Kelly i'd dump first i think. Not entirely convinced he'll get his place back

They're still at home though and Sessegnon doesn't contribute to their defending, so I don't think it'll be that much of an advantage for Liverpool's attack.

Cattermole fair enough, they might get a few more chances that way but it won't help Suarez's finishing or Adam's long shots, just my opinion.

I have just enough funds to do:
    Augero -> Rooney
    Ba -> Surez
    Richards -> Enrique
    4pt hit

Does this sound sensible? On paper a front three of RVP, Rooney, Surez (DGW) sounds awesome but would pretty much have to captain Surez and he's just not consistent yet!

Next 3 games for your lot Dunny: away to probably the worst side in the league Wolves, home to Sunderland who now have 2 key players missing and away to Bolton. Could well pick up a handful of points there!

Yep, those 2 red cards for Sunderland may prove very useful for us. Still not quite sure how we managed to lose the reverse fixture to them. Wolves away is obviously a huge game. Givet is back to partner Dann which is a big plus.

The thing with Fulham defence is that Senderos and Kelly both looked nailed on, Senderos had an awful game against city, got dropped for Hughes.

Kelly has got a minor injury, Senderos came back, Hughes at right back, still no idea who is first choice when everyones fit..

I'm not particularly in the know on Fulham players, but I've learnt on here that there is doubt over Kelly, Senderos and Hughes.

          They'll play one of
          Kelly - Senderos - Hangeland - Riise
          Hughes - Senderos - Hangeland - Riise
          Kelly - Hughes - Hangeland - Riise

But the impression I've got from others is that Kelly is more likely to start regularly than Senderos. How much of that is down to wishful thinking from Kelly owners, I don't know 😛

None of the options stand out, but then no midfielders in Sess' price range stand out.

You either have to downgrade Sess to McClean/Miyachi/Pilkington or upgrade to Young/Nani/Dempsey

Sess, Richards, Aguero to Dempsey, Suarez and Skrtel?

Then downgrading one of the 2 MUN mids -> Valencia if/when he gets back and starts playing again.

They play in different areas of the field. Striker mid partnerships can work well as one can assist the other. This rarely happens between wingers and sometimes the game tends to focus on just one of the wings whereas the other one has a quiet game such as Young and Nani in the last game.

Nani assisted one of Young's goals yesterday...

I see your point, but these 2 cut inside quite a lot and I can see them teeing each other up. The ideal combo is Rooney and one of them, but it just means decimating my midfield to get Rooney in. Hmmm

Of the three, Young and Valencia are in the best form, but I can't see him leaving Nani out.

If he does play all three, then Valencia will be at right back, but that seems highly unlikely to me with Jones and Rafael both fit. Alternatively, there's the possibility of him playing Young behind Rooney, but if he won't drop Welbeck for Hernandez, then I don't know if he'd drop Welbeck for that system either..

It's impossible to second guess Fergie, but my guess is that they'll all get decent game time barring injury, and they'll also all get left on the bench once or twice.

Hard to know if Nani is on form or not , he tends to fire against the easy teams. I dont see any harm in doubling in the mids, especially with those two You wouldnt of been complaining today , thats for sure. And if one is rotated out then you still assured of coverage

Keeping the DGW in mind I think its important not to hamper you team buy getting Liverpool players that will more than likely fail, especially for a hit. Chances are the player may get 2 two's giving you a net gain of 0 points and wasting two transfers to get them in and get them out, or worse, persevering with them for a few games as they continue to disappoint. I would try to ignore this DGW and focus on the primary plan for your team over the next 5 or 6 gameweeks. So I leave you all with this message, don't destroy your team for the sake of a Liverpool DGW.

Liverpool also have great fixtures afterwards, so it's not a disaster if you load up with their players.

I'd say one Liverpool defender is a must til the end of the season considering their defence is tight and their fixtures.

Attacking wise they're only really worth considering for the DGW, and even then it's doubtful, but I might get Suarez anyway..

I have Glen Johnson and I'm getting Jose Enrique. Already had Johnson and always planned to have him long term. I need to take a hit and downgrade Vermaelen to afford Rooney and it seems senseless to ignore Enrique when I'm already taking a hit.

Not sure its a good idea to take a hit to double up on defense. However considering your circumstances it might pay off. At least Liverpool's defense is somewhat reliable.

The hits not really for the defence though, its for Rooney 😉

Trust me, if I could keep Vermaelen for Newcastle at Home, I really would, but I just can't see myself going into next week with Aguero at Swansea, while most other people have Rooney (C) and coming out of it on top, not to mention the inevitable price rises when I try and get Rooney the week after....

I think people buying Everton players could be accused of ruining their team for a DGW but not so much LLiverpool . Enrique or Skirtel fine additions to the end of the season , Having two is ok too for now.
Suarez divides opinions , but its risky not to have him just in case. Even if he does fail its still 4 points (well , hopefully !) He not scoring much but he still playing well, should of had assist this week , if Kuyt didnt miss penalty.

So what's the consensus on this M. Kelly character from Liverpool?
Was thinking of getting him in for some 'pool defensive coverage this dgw (can't afford more than 5.3 unfortunately - and would be dumping shawx for him)
However this comment from Ryan above is obviously making me doubt whether it's a good idea...

Its not a good idea because Glen Johnson will be back in the side, so Kelly won't even play, unless Kenny suddenly decides to play him at centre back instead of Carragher, but the chances of that are somewhere between zero and 0.001%

Kelly is a very good defender, he's probably better defensively than Johnson, but he is second choice, and Johnson will be back for the DGW, he'll play at most one game probably not at all.

Johnson would've put away that open goal miss of Kelly's against Arsenal

Kelly is second choice to Johnson as the others say. I would avoid Liverpool like the plague personally, Sunderland have too much in attack to not score and Everton smell blood.

Whilst we're on a Kelly subject, Fulham's first choice backline surely includes Senderos, right?

Two days ago Fergie said it would be another 2 weeks.

Nani and Young had nice showings today. It isn't that Valencia wouldn't be preferred, its that United dont NEED to rush him back, since the other two are doing fine.

He had worse than no Captain ... he had a -2 Ba-shaped black hole in his team.

If your using a W/C and have the spare funds surely one of Suarez or Adams is worth a punt for a DGW?? I hate that Racist, bucktooth, stinking donkey so I'm looking at Adams. Adams to yaya if he flops hard. preliminary GW28 team:

    Schwarzer

    Enrique, Skrtel, Evans

    Adams, Young, Bale, Dempsey

    Pogrebnyak, Rooney, RVP

    Subs: Mignolet, Sigurdsson, BAE, Caulker

Team sure looks more balanced without Suarez in it

Having Suarez would pretty much break my team and I don't think the potential upside(does he even have any?) is worth it. Pog and Dempsey might be overkill but I like their fixtures and am riding high of my first green arrow in 10GWs. Pog probs becomes Ade in GW31.

On a WC, you'd be crazy *not* to get in that racist, buck-toothed, stinking donkey, imo.

FPL is no place for loyalties or emotions.

      Charlie *Adam* is a donkey.

I gotta disagree. I think even with a Wildcard, Ade, Rooney, and RVP are all more likely to outscore him this week. ba would be close.

He is a striker who doesn't score. He has never gotten double digits in his time in the premier league. Not once.

I don't see a case for suarez. Neither he nor Liverpool are suited to scoring much at all.

this is my view in regards to Suarez also. Dude had a SR of 1 goal every 551 mins or 6.1 games which is beyond shocking imo. All though Adams has a slightly worse SR, he has good assist potential, is cheaper and doesn't take up a crucial foward position. I'd rather have the flexiability Adams brings than the anger Suarez will cause me.

Stick with Silva or switch to A Young with my WC? Only lose 0.1m on Silva so price not an issue....

Stick with Silva. Apart from destroying two north london teams Young has been very average for United.

      Young short term
      Silva long term

Also depends on your other City/Utd coverage

Seeing as he's already dropped tonight I'll probably hang on to him for the time being. I just don't want to lose lots of value on him only to then get rid.

Is it even worth it to do Ba>Suarez for the double gameweek if I'm going to lose .4 on the trade? Seems like it could pay off pointswise but I'd hate to have to slaughter a defender to get Ba back after a couple o gw's...

I considered that transfer and came to the same conclusion you did. 1 pool defender is all you need for the DGW and it wont ruin your team
