The Saturday Dugout Discussion opens to see a hugely significant relegation battle between Bolton Wanderers and Queens Park Rangers. As two of the bottom five clubs, where three appear certainly doomed, three points in this lunchtime kick-off will be fiercely contested for. The team news for the game is in, are the line-ups are as follows…

Bolton XI: Bogdan, Steinsson, Wheater, Ream, Ricketts, Reo-Coker, Mark Davies, Pratley, Miyaichi, Ngog, Petrov.

QPR XI: Kenny, Onuoha, Ferdinand, Hill, Traore, Barton, Diakite, Derry, Wright-Phillips, Cisse, Zamora.

The home side bring in Martin Petrov in a more attacking line-up, with Zak Knight making way. There’s another start for the impressive on-loan Ryo Miyachi.

As for the visitors, they welcome back Djibril Cisse and Samba Diakite from suspension and name them in their starting eleven. Cisse partners Bobby Zamora upfront.

After that we’ve another five Premier League games to enjoy, ending up at Goodison Park where Everton begin their double against Harry’s Spurs.

The Dugout Discussion chatroom will remain open throughout the day, and can be accessed right here.

Lukas Podolski said in an interview after 1.FC Cologne's 1-0 victory against Hertha Berlin today (during which he got sent off) about his imminent move to Arsenal: "Contrary to reports in the last few days, nothing has been decided yet. When there's something to report, then I'll do so."

Don't get me started on that!

He actually praised Arsenal for what they did and were very critical towards himself and Milan after the game, showing a humble side of himself. Not that the English media bothered to report that, mind 😉

            That's fair enough.

I find him very likable personally. Seems to be a pretty down to earth, almost naive, boy to me. Likes to go visit his family in Poland etc when the rest of his international mates go on flamboyant jet-set vacations.

To fans of Norwich and Swansea, I salute you. You've made staying in this league look easy and have been a credit to the Championship.

As for my lot? We're going down and frankly we damn well deserve to as well. 3 points from games against Wigan, Wolves, Blackburn and Bolton is nowhere near good enough at this level.

Hughes can blame officials and luck all he wants but the fact is that we played 4 of the poorest teams in this league for many a year and went 1-3 and conceded 8 goals and no clean sheets.

    Pathetic by any standards.

I imagine most of them have relegation clauses in their contracts and frankly I could care more if they all scarpered once our relegation is official.

Least the players we get next season may be short on talent but will play with heart and passion and be a team.

At least Cisse scored for you in FPL-world, but yeah today was a hammer-blow to QPR's chances of staying up. Midfield is sub-standard for the top level.

        Everything is sub standard.

I hope Hughes stays and rebuilds a proper team, players like Norwich have who work for each other and are young and hungry.

If he goes, well, bring in a hungry young manager who can emulate what Norwich and Swansea have done.

This has been an awful way to repay fans who've waited 15 years to see us back in the Prem. It makes me feel sick.

Blackburn and Bolton will probably stay up now and they can be thankful that there were 3 teams who were seriously unworthy to be allowed to play in the Premier League at the same time that they sucked.
