Jay Egersdorff is not afraid to make bold moves.

It’s been a key feature of a stellar Fantasy Premier League career that has seen him finish within the top 10,000 in all but two of his previous 12 campaigns.

This track record includes three top 1,000 finishes, two of which saw him miss out on a spot in the top 100 by less than half a dozen places. He is also the reigning Career Hall of Fame number one, having topped our list at the end of last season.

Jay joins me in our latest Meet the Manager video to look over his impressive career and explain more about his rationale for making bold moves, often involving multiple hits.

Sometimes they can be costly, as with last season when he gave up a place in the top 100 by taking three hits and jettisoning Harry Kane ahead of back-to-back hat-tricks.

That failed “Kanexit”, as well as this season’s Kane-related disaster, are discussed, as are the times when being a maverick has paid off.

This includes his decision to improve his squad by swapping Mohamed Salah for his cheaper teammate, Sadio Mane, this season. With green arrows ever since he looks to be well on his way to overturning a disastrous start that saw him almost edge out of the top one million places back in Gameweek 6.

Jay also explains how he is unable to move to his favoured 3-5-2 set up and why he is happy to play the patient game for now. Although given his career history, another maverick move may be just around the corner.

The chat with Jay is available to view on Youtube here and in the embedded video below.

so, anyone else looking at snodgrass for a a fourth or fifth mid?

Not yet - has to do more before he's considered. (Especially since Arnie is the focal point anyhow.)

I agree about Arnie, but with the decimated midfield, the support has to come from somewhere. Snodgrass seems to be on some corners and FKs

Is there a rule or contractual agreement preventing Richarlison from playing against Warford (his former club) in gameweek 16?

Just a question, as it would affect my transfers in the off chance he'll miss that game.

Just traded Madison and Boly out for Laporte and Barclay. I don't think I lose much by changing Madison for Barclay especially if Barclay reproduces his form from the BUR game.

Yup. I am a Chelsea fan so it’s hard to resist ! Nagging doubt in my head that Barkley will be rotated with Kovacic, whereas Maddy is central.
            Just feel Leicester need coverage.

Plan was A, to bring Fabianski in. If I went B, it would be over two gwks. Ryan would have to come in this gwk. Balbuena next.

    B) Ryan, Balbuena

Baffled as to what to do and need help. If you can get your head around this, pick your favourite:

    1) 3-4-3... Kane, Fraser, Hennessey > Arnautovic, Mane, Ederson (-4)
    2) 3-4-3... Kane, Richarlison, Fraser, Hennessey > Wilson, Salah, Barkley, Ryan (-8)
    3) 3-4-3... Richarlison, Kane, Fraser, Trippier, Hennessey > Salah, Arnautovic, Barkley, Laporte, Ryan (-12)
    4) 3-5-2... Kane, Mitro, Fraser, Billing, Hennessey > Wilson, Success, Salah, Barkley, Ryan (-12)

I can but if the switch is Hennessey who will probably get 1 point this week to Ederson who should get at least 6 then I'm in profit...and happy I don't have Wayne stinking up my team any more.

    Got exact money...

    A) Mitro > Arnie for free
    B) Save ft & potentially be priced out

All i can say is Arnautovic will be a good FPL option next 10 weeks. I hope.

      B. Arnautovic nowhere close to rising, Mitro doesn't look like he'll fall tonight.

If Arnie hauls and Mitro is as rubbish as he seemed to be in the cup, surely a double whammy (Arnie up, Mitro down) would be on the cards no?

Many of us would want that as we're buying Arnie soon after GW 11 starts.

You only have to wait one more night unless a Mitrovich price drop affects your selling price in getting Arnie. Arnie is unlikely to rise from -8 in 24 hours.

illness a non-issue as he played half an hour in the cup, if he was still ill he wouldnt have.

Yeah definitely no illness, ongoing knee issue is the concern. Despite the limp he looked very sharp against City in the cup match

Thoughts on the following using 2FT?

    King + Holebas ➡️ Arnautovic + Dunk

    Leaves me with

    Foster
    Azpilicueta Robertson Dunk
    Maddison Hazard Mane B.Silva
    Mitrovic Aguero Arnautovic

    Patricio Richarlison Doherty Wan-Bissaka

Firmino --> Vardy make sense? I've been stubbornly holding on to him despite his lack of returns, but about ready to pull the trigger and thinking Vardy might be set for a nice run.

Tough one. Bobby is a streaky player so maybe he's "due". Vardy and co might be a little flat this week for obvious reasons, and Bobby has god awful Fulham defence to torment next week, so maybe give him these two matches to snap out of his funk?

toss a coin on that one, ordinarily considering form and fixtures I'd say Vardy but after last week's events and the alleged tiff with the manager who knows, espec. with Liverpool looking like their attack might start purring again, holding might be an good differential.

    Alonso Robertson Trippier Bennett AWB
    Hazard Mane Fraser Knockaert Hojberg
    Aguero Vardy Arnautovic.

    A. Bennett > Laporte
    B. Knockaert > Pereyra
