The penultimate fixture in Gameweek 28 brought us yet another dramatic finale involving Arsenal as Arsene Wenger’s side bundled a winning goal at the death to deny a battling Newcastle.

Statistically, there were some outstanding performances on show which we will break down in a moment, along with our prediction for the Fantasy Premier League bonus points.

Firstly, there was also a dispute involving the assist for the winning goal. The assist for the touch on Theo Walcott’s cross was first awarded to Robin Van Persie and then removed and handed to Aaron Ramsey. It’s unclear whether Ramsey did indeed get a clear touch on the cross before it was blocked by the defender in the box but, interestingly, Opta have also confirmed a Ramsey touch on Walcott’s cross. While this goal and the award of the assist could yet be reviewed by the Press Association, right now it sits with Ramsey – denying Walcott his second assist on a night where he sparkled on the right flank.

  I am always cautious about tripling up on any team. I think its better to have no more than two players. Too many eggs in one basket otherwise. The exception is when a team is on fire and has great fixtures. United might fall into that category.

    The other big question is whether Bale and Silva are worth hanging on to. Walcott, Nani, Young all tempt me (assuming Nani is fit).

        Thanks! Yes, last year was my first year, and I had very little clue what I was doing until at least November. Had a spectacular end to the season though, and hoping for the same this time. I agree I take too many hits. I'm trying to be more careful now. Although it did help me build up funds!

  Like the fact that Newc didn't keep a cleanie last night, because everyone else in my mini-league seemed to be playing a couple of their defenders. Hated the fact that Raylor didn't play, as that meant my main rival got Naylor from the bench.
  
  Raylor is constantly annoying. Not sure I've ever been so annoyed by a player that I've never had, and have no intention of getting.

    have simpson but didn't play him. would have done just as well as my other defenders this week so far (skrtel, kelly, enrique) but obviously two still get to play again and kelly was oh so closse to a cs
    
    we're in the same boat mate! newman-cini had raylor which gave him caulker off the bench and allowed him to beat me in the CL. still pissed about that one...
    
    same!! rotated or hurt when it benefits his managers, gets lucky assists, subbed off before they concede, etc. sooo frustrating! but i could never own him with that much uncertainty and id rather have simpson and a better other defender like enrique

MORNING ALL!

right, that's that out of the way and now i can be my cynical self.

first "i really don't have anything better to do with my team" question of the day for you lucky people:

Krul
BAE, JEvans, Skittle
Demps, Yaya, Siggy, Bale
RvP, Rooney, PCisse

Mingy, Ox, Williamson, McAuley

1) delay my Skittle > Evra move and use the FT to replace PCisse and rely on a LIV defence away at QPR

2) change my midifeld (any ideas would be welcome)

3) do nothing this week and save 2 FT's for next week.

that's it i think. oh, and if someone could pop to the dry cleaners and pick up my tux, that'd be great.

    Boring. I have all of those players and have a very strong feeling I'm just going to hobble along until gw 38...lose my mini league by less than 4 pts(last year I lost by 4pts), not qualify from the h2h RESERVES(again...) and have a kek, 15k ranking.
    
    In other words the last 7 months was a waste of time.

this is only my 3rd year doing this FPL lark. the first year i didn't know the subtle ins and outs and the second year was interrupted by illness and travel.

where's this all leading to?

well, my current GW28 ranking of 81,201 is my best rank EVER.

yes, i know that 95% of the regulars here are ranked higher but i like to celebrate mediocrity where i can.

  Not sure, but previous seasons points/performance def plays a role. That's why Baines is so expensive as well as Carrol. Odemwingy as well. Dempsey has steadily been rising since I started 4-5 years ago. I had him in my team at 4.5m originally.
