Wolverhampton Wanderers’ defence was supposed to be one of the clean sheet bankers in Gameweek 13, but Fantasy managers were left disappointed.

After keeping four clean sheets from five matches between Gameweeks 4 and 8, the newly-promoted side have not recorded one since.

We’ve taken a look at the data in the Fantasy Football Scout Members Area to see whether the use of Rui Patrício (£4.6m), Matt Doherty (£4.9m) and their defensive colleagues have run out.

Going to get Sterling and Sané on WC in week 15 but which of them would you bring in in a free transfer this week?

Sterling, IMO - just due to the imminent price rises, I dont see the same activity around Sane

      Sané for this week.

Got subbed early last night. Not sure if it’s much to read into as Pep is unpredictable, however there is some logic behind it.

Considering a WC this week, what do you think of the following:

    Fabianski / Hennessey
Alonso / Robertson / Doherty / Wan Bissaka / Digne
    Sterling / Sane / Silva / Robertson / Brooks
    Kane / Arnie / Success

    ~0.9 m in bank

Any input is welcome, might also wait with WC till week 15, but my fingers are itching to burn it straight away.

I've already hit the wildcard button and it's very similar to what I'm considering. 12/15 are identical assuming you mean Richarlison in midfield.

Only differences are Hennessey, Digne & Success -> Steele, TAA & Jimenez.

      Good luck with your decision.

Wish I’d never mentioned I would go Doherty captain. Was just a joke at first, then I felt I had to go through with it.

Not the worst week to do it - should have been an easy CS, and there wasn't many other clear cut captaincy options.

Was down to Salah and Aguero as the other options. Could have just as easily gone Aguero so not too bad.

You weren't the only one, felt good going into it, he was capable of getting a good score. Hindsight is a wonderful thing.

Not concerned about keeping Doherty, but I won't captain him again for the time being.

Would you, over the next two weeks, do

    Salah, Sigurdsson and Aguero

    to

    Mané, Sané and Kane?

If so, in what order would you do it (need to do Salah out first, because of the cash needed)?

Why would you want to get rid of Siggy for Mane ? I would do just Salah and Kun to Kane and Sterling. Siggy is looking like an excellent differential

It's just that I would feel terrified by not owning neither Mané nor Salah. I see your point, though - Siggy just needs to outperform Richarlison and I'm all good 🙂

From my personal experience I honestly don't think it's necessary to cover a particular team , as long as you spread out the money wisely and make it count. My rank started climbing this season by taking out Salah and Mane and having sterling (c) for his big hauls. I've got robbo and TAA and I've been passing people with Mane and Salah in my mini leagues.

This article has really made me think. I’ve had Patrício as a set and forget all season and had no plans to chance anytime soon but those next nine fixtures from a clean sheet point of view aren’t great at all. Maybe for those like me with Doherty also it’s worth moving on Pat to avoid any double ups over this period?

I believe you dont set and forget by thinking of changing a player. So its set and forget unless... If Wolves didnt concede vs HUD would you think of changing Patricio? Probably not. So clear the table, think about fixtures to come and i m sure you ll know what to do. Generally i disagree with the set and forget strategy. But if you are following it results shouldnt make you change it.

It’s not the Huddersfield result that bothers me. Before today I was happy to keep, but this article made me look at the fixtures which are not great and while I’ve held Pat through some tough fixtures already that seems a fair amount of poor fixtures to consider making a change. Especially as I have Doherty who I’ll be playing too.

Fair enough, i m not saying dont change GK, but if you do, are you planning to change him again after the other GKs good fixtures? Or set and forget? Because after the other GKs good fixtures here will be another article with Teams with 6 bad fixtures ahead and his team will be there. All i m saying is that its a difficult position to spend transfers so needs more planning than the rest. Good luck

I’d be looking for a keeper for about the next 15 GW’s or so, as if only want to change again on WC.

Last week I weighed up two options:
      1. Mendy and Bennett to Laporte and Doherty
      2. Patricio and Mendy to Doherty and Fabianski/4.5 goalie.

I went for option 1 because i wasn't keen on any other keeper, and before the gameweeks even started I regretted it. Bennett is great 4.0 bench fodder and Doherty is decent starter or sub. But now I have a double up most weeks. If I still had the transfers have moved Patricio on. He's not a terrible option though, for his price.

This is the thing, I’m not worried about Doherty for his price, but with the upcoming fixtures it seems the right time to lose the double up with Pat especially as if I don’t I have to play him every week whereas I can bench Doherty when needed.

That was my thinking as well. If they don't even get one clean sheet from these two great fixtures (Huddersfield already gone of course) then it seems like a bad decision, possibly too short term. But that said there was no other keeper I wanted for 4.5 and I expected Wolves to return to strength at the back.

May as well see how the Cardiff game goes and then decide.

the upcoming fixtures arent that bad

cardiff next, followed by chelsea who have scored 2 in the last 3 in all competitions, and then newcastle

Hold or make one of the below transfers (squad below)

    A) Richa + fraser > sane + brooks (-4)
    B) Richa + ings > Sane + fodder (-4)
    C) hold
    D) if I hold, I will do salah, ings and pereira > Kane, Son and Balbeuna (-4) for gw15

Not doing mane > sane as I want to bin Salah next gw to fund Kane and want some Liverpool cover so keeping mane.

    henny
    robbo - alonso - doherty - pereira - awb
    salah - mane - sterling
    jiminez - arnie

Depends who you will get from Spurs

as of know I feel Kane is enough who can be transferred in for Kun next week.

After GW16, Richarlison and Salah's fixtures are not the best for high scores, so you can drop them. With 3 PL games from this saturday to next, we will also get lil bit of idea of how teams are rotating, whether Arnautovic can play 3 games or not, whether Lacazette is a decent 2nd striker or not, whether Kane delivers or not etc etc...

If cash is an issue and you know what team to go with, then activate otherwise better to wait.

Sane more explosive and capable of bigger hauls, but more susceptible to rotation .

Dilva more nailed and reliable as KDB is out, but much lower ceiling at about 8 or 9 points.

Depends what else you want to do - Sané likely to score more points but seems to be the first sub when things don’t go to plan. D Silva steady supply of points but rarely double figures, cheaper and can allow for other moves.

Have 1.3m itb burning a hole in my pocket, but if Haz and Arnie are fit, I'm not sure I'll use my FT?

    Laporte AWB Alonso Doherty
    Salah Hazard Richarlison
    Arnie Kun Jimenez

    Hamer Brooks Hojbjerg Digne

I wouldn’t over think the cash in the bank issue short term. I’ve got 3.3m in the bank I’ve had waiting for Kane. I may bring him in or I may give Firmino one last stab, either way I’m not worried about having cash in the bank.

I’d keep the FT and rollover and then you can use 2 FT’s and the cash to make a more significant change.

If Kun scores big this GW it would be hard to switch him for Kane...

Agreed but the case for Kane is too compelling right now

Aguero has scored in his last 6 away Champs League fixtures.. I have no idea how this fits in with his away form in FPL

He is capable of scoring on the road and it's only a matter of time until he does for the premier league.

When comparing stats over a short period shouldn't there be a bigger emphasis on the teams they faced during that period?

A team's defensive stats would be terrible against Man City, but strong against Cardiff, for example. 13 games is too small a sample size not to consider fixtures in the comparison.

It's a variable to consider when looking at stats over any time period. IMO, 13 games is not to small of a sample size.

People bringing sane worried about 1 point cameo? He is first choice sub when rested. So no points from bench?

I like the fact he came off after 71 minutes and Sterling played the full 90.

Yeah but thats just one game. What about in the future? Sterling when rested stays in bench most of the time while sane gets subbed in alot

Depends how good of a bench you have? If it’s a 4.5m midfielder coming off your bench for 2-3 points tops or a budget defender without a great fixture then I’d rather have Sane come on for a cameo as he’s proved he can get returns even with limited time off the bench.

How does a goal happen without big chance created? Saw in some youtube vid, wolves had 0 big chances conceded in 2-0 defete to hudd

Free kicks or shots from outside the box aren’t really big chances now are they? A big chance is a goal that is expected to be scored

Or an own goal, like Lerma's at the weekend. A cross isn't a big chance.

With great difficulty. There is a strong correlation between big chances created and goals scored.

Arsenal are a bit of an outlier though. They are the only team to have fewer big chances (22) than goals scored (28). This suggests they've been scoring technically difficult goals. I wonder if it's sustainable...

Hearing that Meunier is dropped from today's PSG squad to the bench. Did anyone hear anything else from other sources.
