With Robin Van Persie a constant in most Fantasy squads and Wayne Rooney’s recent form lifting him to near essential status, there appears to be just a single slot up for grabs in our Fantasy forward lines. With this in mind, our two-part members article plunders our own ICT Index scores and Opta statistics for the previous six Gameweeks to assess form, identifying would-be targets in the mid-range and budget price brackets.

We start today, analysing those players open to Fantasy managers with cash to spare: forwards available in the 7.0-9.5 Fantasy Premier League (FPL) price range.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Bilbao thoroughly deserve it, they've been immense over both legs. United have been very disappointing. They've barely been able to string 5 passes together.

I don’t understand why football fans can’t put allegiances/hatred of teams aside when another English team is playing in Europe.

I’m a Utd fan, but I still rooted for Arsenal last week, and Chelsea last night. Heck, I might even be quietly pleased if City go through tonight. Flying the flag ‘n all.

Why should they, maybe they're not competing directly but they're competing for trophies. Everyone loves to brag about what their team won or how many trophies they've got. I don't expect other fans to support Liverpool in Europe, but maybe that's just me, I don't even support England really.

    Amazing from Bilbao

Its almost impossible to measure, but who knows how much positive difference it actually makes to have the whole team from one area? The additional pride and motivation it engenders must almost be the same as playing for your national team.

You really do have a situation where the players and the fans are linked. Everyone is playing for their friends, their families and local pride, and not just for a pay cheque That must give you that little extra determination.

Not sure how they get away with it under EU law though to openly have a tranfer/employment policy based on location of birth
