Aubameyang and Kane snapped up by top 10k FPL managers

Fantasy Premier League managers made extensive changes to their teams this week and it appears the template is no longer.

In this article, we look at how team selection has changed between Gameweeks 13 and 14, including the effect of the latest Wildcards.

3.64% of Top 10k managers activated their Wildcard for Gameweek 15, which makes the percentage of managers with their wildcard intact only 16.5%.

Looking at the popular choices in their wildcards shows lots of changes from previous weeks.

The new striker partnership of Harry Kane and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang dominates this Gameweek Wildcards. The third spot has been awarded to Marko Arnautovic, although he went off with a hamstring injury on Tuesday night.

With the appeal of those two premium options, both of whom have great fixtures on the horizon, there is little room for the injured Sergio Aguero.

The absence of the Argeninian from Wildcards seems to correspond by heavy investment in Manchester City’s midfield options, with Raheem Sterling (74.18%) and Leroy Sane (60.71%) among the top three most-owned players in the Gameweek 15 Wildcards.

The investment in West Ham goes beyond Arnautovic to Felipe Anderson (66.76%) and Lukasz Fabianski (63.74%). In fact, the Hammers are the side with the highest number of players in this week’s Wildcards.

By backing West Ham assets, mixed feelings were definitely experienced by Wildcarders as Arnautovic got zero points while Fabianski rewarded them with a penalty save but lost his clean sheet in the 95th minute.

The template was not only affected by those Wildcards, with plenty of those without one made enough changes to alter the dynamics of the game.

The result is a huge shift in the ownership among the top 10k for some premium options.

For example, Kane (who leads the top 10k captaincy for Gameweek 15 with 40.8%) saw his top 10k ownership increase from 2.61% to 44.94%.

Similarly, Aubameyang went from 2.9% to 30.73%.

On the other hand, Aguero dropped from 81.1% to 12.43%.

These huge ownership swings shows much of a turning point in the season we are experiencing right now.

Finally, here is a list of ownership changes for some main FPL assets.

Tbh I'm stressing with that start, ok expected more out of Ederson and Arnie but I speculated to accumulate in the long run this week , i will judge this gwk when it ends and should come out Xmas rosey. Fair play to Fabs, Fraser and Wilson owners and good luck with rest of gwk

I was doing really well, at around 8k and then I decide to wildcard for the sake of it. I get rid of jimenez- he returns vs spurs and arsenal. I got rid of pereira- 25 points in 4 gws. I got rid of richarlison- 12 points in the first gw without him. Ever since then I’ve been taking hits like there’s no tomorrow, which tbf long term have worked but I ended up with almost an identical team to my ore wildcard team 4 gws after I did it except with like 50 less points. I’m still around 40k but this just goes to show that hindsight is a wonderful thing. Please donate £2 a month to help me and my addiction. Thank you

Wilson's fixtures are beyond awful now until March 9th. I think that boat has sailed.

Btw, Bournemouth had just 37% possession at home to Huddersfield. I think they're being fortunate at the minute.

But his fixtures were amazing. Bournemouth's season is really skewed fixture wise; take a look at their history.

Not saying he isn't going to score, but I doubt he'll smash it with the same frequency.

    A- play 352, arnie mahrez -4 to laca & 6.1 mid (armstrong/paterson/snodgrass/march)
    B- play 451, kiko mahrez -4 to holding/kola/dunk & siggy/anderson
    C- play 442, kiko arnie -4 to kola murray/chicha/lucas

Arnie replacements will no doubt be a big topic of discussion.

Wilson: No brainer for non-owners. Incredible form, value for money and season keeper.

Mitrovic: Ranieri has stated that the Serbian is the target man for the Fulham attack and has asked his players to supply balls into the box. Good run of fixtures, however, he is currently on 4 yellow cards walking the suspension tightrope. Can he do a Diego Costa and avoid another caution before the card system is reset?

Chicarito/Perez: Straight switches for the West Ham attack for the upcoming glorious run of fixtures, however, can they be trusted or too much of a punt?

    Zaha?

Hits/structure changes to upgrade to an Arsenal striker, or downgrade to improve the midfield? Would be interested to hear your thoughts.

After the completion of 19 matches, 5 yellow cards will no longer trigger a one-match suspension.
This will normally occur after GW19, unless any matches have been rearranged to different game-weeks.

You know the search is hard for the 3rd striker spot when even Rondon and A.Carroll is striking my mind.
Currently thinking of Chicarito or downgrade a midfielder (still have Mane, tempted to go Snodgrass) to get in Lacasette or Aubameyang.

Think I'm going to go Chicharito, but no shots or touches in the box in his 63 mins vs Cardiff is a worry.

Wilson seems the obvious move, but Bournemouth's fixtures are beyond awful until March 9th. Their next 11 fixtures rate second most difficult on the season ticker.

In their 2-1 win home to Huddersfield tonight, they averaged only 33% possession. I know Bournemouth are good on the counter attack and Wilson still returned a goal and an assist but I don't know, I'm concerned about that with the tougher fixture run.

Mooy leaves for the Asian games at the start of January, and he provides all the ammo so a bit worrying that.

Just read some comments from Pellegrini about how he usually plays with two strikers, so with Arnautovic he identifies Chicharito as his fox in the box. Maybe Carroll and Perez will take turns playing alongside him?

this will open up the template further, and as you say could open up for changing of structure, as Spurs and Arsenal got some great fixtures and Arsenal is only strikers that are of interest and one could argue that Kane is the one people want from Spurs. My route is Auba and Snoddy for Dilva and Arnie, selling Silva is difficult but i´ve in need for a captain choice besides Kane, therefore Auba seems nice. It also gives me a bit of flexibility to rotate some of my players due to fixtures.
Downgrading is defo an option but not much to really downgrade as the best option below Arnie is already near his price. Success could be one, but not sure i would go that route tbf, but it could be Silva to Hazard/Sterling so could be worth it ofc.

Took a hit and consider one more if Sané or Mané miss the next game, which is a possibility. I guess it will be hitsgalore if injury and benchings keeps this pace.

Who is it you dont have between Sané and Sterling?
Because I have both and dont want to get rid. Which makes keeping Kane while adding Aubameyang a lot more difficult.

It’s a shift of funds for me,

Arnie to Auba, Salah sold for Anderson and 3.1mill ready to upgrade my 4.3 def to Alonso next week...leaves me with

      Fabianski / Hamer
      Alonso/ Robertson/ TAA / Doherty / AWB
      sane / Sterling / Anderson / Brooks / hojberg
      Kane / Auba / Jimenez

Happy with that balance - West Ham, Spurs and Arsenal fixtures are so good (although both spurs and arsenal only have 1 outstanding option for various reasons)

I’d just like to say, I don’t know why people don’t like taking hits. Let’s be honest as long as the hit pays off over max 3 gws then it’s not a problem and you only take hits for transfers you really want therefore it’s likely that the hit will be repaid. Just a thought but I think I’m just trying to convince myself that the -8 I’ve just taken is good...

Better to get the correct players in the first time around. Look at the OR leaders and their lack of hits

Exactly, if you choose good long term picks then you won't have to go back and correct your mistake with hits.

Hits are ok when getting rid of injured players with a lot of money tied up in them

Plan properly, anticipate fixture swings, get nailed players, have a decent bench ... then you don’t actually need to take hits 🙂

Love a good hit I do, they seem to go in fazes of how well they work out. Just lately they've been paying off handsomely.

I love a hit and mostly they work out if they aren’t short term. I think actually they should be priced at -5... at -4 it seems a little cheap but lots of people blindly refuse to take a hit

Did anyone see the Arnautovic injury?

Is it possible that he came off as a precaution or is it a full blown hammy?

He has been quoted as saying he can't play more than on game per week

        Think you're right.

Not sure whether he's trying to make a point; has more or less substituted himself from games recently.

Very few hamstring injuries return for the next game even for a mild strain.

True but not sure whether he has actually strained it. He seems to be injured every game recently and then miraculously recovers for the next week.

not seen it but hamstrings often comes when you are fatigued and in this case his knee has been niggling for a while, not a doctor but when you exercise and pushes the limits muscular injuries occurs and with just three days to recover i can´t see him beeing ready even if it´s just a minor one. West Ham did alright after he left so Pellegrini can probably do without him for a game and still do ok?

12 from Fabs, AwB, Brooks and.Arnie.
No Raheem, Kun and a Laporte cameo has softened the.blow of no City
Successs on the bench got.the.two points, noce to see points on the.bench.
Move on tonight, still hopeful if a great score!

    Thoughts on these moves?

    Salah, Hazard & Arnie
    To
    Sané, Eriksen & Aubameyang + 1.2itb for -4

That 1.2 itb allows Martial to Son the following week for Burnley or an upgrade in defence. Means no Kane.

    How do these moves look?

    Arnautovic & Ederson - > Aubameyang & Leno (-4)

The Ederson half of the move is for funds..

0.1 short of Arnie > Aubemayang
    Hazard > Anderson

Probably a good thing as I didn't want to rush a transfer tonight anyway.

Only way to get Auba or Lacazette is to get rid of Hazard or Alonso and I'm reluctant to let both go as they have good fixtures coming up once the City game is finished.

For those WCing and bringing in both Kane and Auba - is it time to lose Alonso?

See above - impossible to fit in Kane, Auba, Haz, Sterling + Alonso for me. Either make do with 1 premium mid or get rid of Alonso.

I have four of the above 5 with Sané over Hazard. It's doable

I already ditched Hazard and can get Kane, Auba, Sterling, Sane and a City defender, but can't afford Alonso in there too.

    Kane, Wilson, Arnie

Arnie, Haz > Auba, Bilva (-4)?
    WC after gw16?
Kind of at a loss in which way to go.
