As mentioned in yesterday’s first instalment of this two-part series, with Robin Van Persie nailed-on for the vast majority of Fantasy managers and Wayne Rooney’s form and fixtures affording the United man the chance to rack up the points, the remaining slot in Fantasy front lines is shaping up to be more crucial than ever.

Having already discussed the various mid-price options available, we turn our attentions to the budget bracket. We take a look at our own ICT Index scores and Opta statistics for the previous six Gameweeks to assess form, with those forwards priced at 6.5 or under in Fantasy Premier League (FPL) coming in for close attention.

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

I've done it; I've finally gotten rid of silva (for Gerrard) which makes my team:

    Krul (Vorm)
Skrtel, Evans J, Taylor R (Cahill) (Olsson)
Dempsey (c), Bale, Sigurdsson, Gerrard (Dyer)
    Zamora, Rooney, RVP

Lost at bottom of previous page:

    A: Suarez > Balotelli
B: Suarez > Cheapie per article above
    C: Silva/Bale/Dempsey > Walcott

If B – which cheapie, I’m thinking Holt
If C – which of Silva/Dempsey/Bale to get rid of?

Personally im not convinced Young will start after playing a few games on the bounce recently. Got a feeling Nani or Tony V(more probable) will play instead.

    Ba - RVP - Rooney

    Sorry for the repost guys,

With Silva dropping in form and becoming less of a fantasy must have here are some to consider.....

Chelsea- Frank Lampard remains Chelsea's highest scoring midfielder with 1 point more than fellow Chelsea playmaker Juan Mata. Lampard has played only 1785 minutes compared to Mata's 2024 and in those 1785 minutes Lampard has notched up 10 goals and 5 assists, meanwhile Mata has the opposite with 5 goals and 10 assists. Lampard has also hit double figures 5 times, with Mata only managing three. Lampard has mainly racked up the points against lower oppostition including a hat-trick and and all three bonus points at the Reebok in which he contributed 20 points. But Lampard's position in Roberto Di Matteo's side is unclear, despite playing the full 90 minutes in the past four BPL games where as Juan Mata has featured in every Chelsea game so far this season, most recently as a first half substitute in the 1-0 win against Stoke at Stamford Bridge.

Man United- With Antonio Valencia set to come back into the frame there is some uncertaincy over the two wing spots in the United Midfield. The first candidate is Nani, who has had a stop start season but has still been delivering the good for United. He has been on the scoresheet 6 times and picked up 10 assist along the way to 133 FPL points in 1867 minutes of Premier League football. The second alternative is Englishman Ashley Young. The former Villa man made a great start to the season with 33 points in the first 3 games, mainly down to a big 23 point haul in the 8-2 hammering of Arsenal at Old Trafford. but since then his season has has been hit with injuries but he did catch the eye with a brace in the 3-1 win at White Hart Lane. The cheaper alternative is Ecuadorian Antonio Valencia who has been more consistant than the two, only failing to score more than two points, most of those as a sub or at right-back. He did have an excellent run between GW15 and GW25 in which he delivered 2 goals and 10 assists.

    ----------Minutes Played-------PPG(90 mins)
    Nani----------1867------------------6.7pts------
    Young--------1119------------------6.8pts------
    Valencia-----1303------------------5.9pts------

i've had enough of this rooney being rested talk. rooney was the only bright light in man utd's defeat against bilbao. he has an incredible work rate and united dont have a like for like replacement for him. after being dumped out of europa i think SAF would want a win, and a big one too. also city are playing chelsea where they could possiby drop points and SAF will want to capitalize on this. therefore, he will play rooney. i really have no idea where you fellas get the notion that he wont play

Ahh that's absolute bull. It's such a nothing injury. He's not even doubtful imo. The Mirror's the only source reporting it with no quotes, and there's been no comments from SAF. They said he has a knock but it's the knock he got during the game and he still carried on 15 minutes after that and even scored. He was fine.

We thought the same and were hesitant but he's being listed as a doubt in all major sources now (Guardian, Telegraph included). In our view he's very likely to play but with so many sources claiming a fitness test, there now has to be a doubt - however slight.

Rooney fit, and im sure he will play as United need to get back on track. Nani is doubtful and i doubt SAF will risk him

How is my team looking for this week? No idea who to put as captain or whether to put in Vermaelen.

    Vorm
    Senderos, Evans, Richards, Skrtel
    Gutierrez, Silva, Moses
    Suarez, Rooney, Aguero

    Subs: Kenny, Vermaelen, Drenthe, Sessegnon

    Captains choice?? Criticism?? Thanks.

I'd play Verm over all four of those defenders. Everton are hardly prolific and he's got more of a threat going forwards.

    Repost from bottom last page
Have I picked the right team here or would you have a different bench and/or captain?

    Given
    Enrique, Evans, Senderos
    Nani, Bale(C), Dempsey, Myiachi
    Rooney, Holt, RVP

    Sorensen, Williamson, Cahill, Sess

Team seems fine to me, are you chasing points? or at the top? Rooney seems to be everyones choice as captain this week but if you want to go for the differential in Bale it could come up trumps.

The funny thing is most people knew or had a feeling that this might happen, but were happy to keep the armband on him...

Now the yellow flag is there, everybody panics?

I've put together a tentative transfer plan, which consists of holding Ba for two more games before switching to Adebayor. Is this what most are doing?

Balo Odem Drog could come to the fore. If Walcott, looks good then I may go cheaper.

I plan on Drog atm, Ade has just been too unreliable. I plan on switching Young to Valencia to fund this. I will asses Dempsey after Norwich game, but may ship him for Theo.

Balo Odem Drog ... the forwards on my watchlist atm.

Atm I own Ba and hoping he regains form - if not, I'll be looking to ship, but probably not for Ade at that price.

News sources all running with Rooney doubt. It's no longer just the claims of the Mirror. Telegraph and Guardian listing as fitness test required. He's in Picks and we're very very confident he'll play but clearly, there is talk of a doubt circling.

tbh Mark I'll still play him and captain him, worst case scenario he doesn't play and I get my vc, only question is Ba, Bale or Clint to have it.

If SAF does not play Rooney then he is an idiot... They need a big win to bounce back from the Europa league defeat and with City playing Chelsea... United need to capitalize on what could be a tricky game for City

Then again last week you told me you were captaining Rooney and you captained RvP. Not falling for that again 😉

have to admit to bias as i have capt america and dont have silva 😛 been a constant thread from the greater good on scout for a while now r.e. gettin rid of silva so id have to agree, suppose it depends on ur comfortableness with ur fpl side lining up for the gameweek without him and for me it was worth it 😉 having said that im hardly credible considering my rank and saying yes would surely mean a rare double figure return for the spanish midfielder
