Has Salah finally shaken off his bonus points repellant?

Mohamed Salah (£13.4m) might have finally shaken off his aversion to bonus points this season as his Fantasy Premier League form continues to impress.

The Egyptian has recorded ten additional points through bonus in the last seven matches, which is 83% of his total for this year. If he continues at this rate, he could eclipse his tally for last season.

In the 2017/18 campaign, Salah broke the all-time FPL total score for a season but still only managed to add 26 bonus points.

A high number of off-target shots and offsides, as well as the fact that he was tackled fairly often, were all contributing factors to Salah dropping down the bonus points charts.

However, Liverpool’s number one attacker seems to have made improvements in all of those areas in recent weeks, to the extent that he has been averaging 1.43 bonus points per match since Gameweek 16.

In fact, Salah’s 11-point haul against Brighton in Gameweek 22 was the first match in which he has produced only one goal and earned bonus.

It was, of course, a match-winning goal, which does raise bonus points, but he has scored in two 1-0 wins before the one at the Amex Stadium and earned no bonus in either of them.

Prior to that, Salah has had to score another or provide an assist to put himself into consideration for the extra points on offer.

So that means something must have changed in his underlying statistics to endear him to the bonus points system (BPS) more than last season. Fantasy Football Scout members can read on and see more of our analysis…

    Hahaha
Ian Holloway talking about the Bielsa spying row.
Holloway says he would have kidknapped the spy, tied him up in duct tape, written his tactics over the guys chest and dumped him back at Leeds.

Kelly Dalglish says "you can't do that"

Holloway " yes I can, that's what my dad would have done to me"
"you need to win fair and square son"

    Hahaha brilliant.

I feel maybe Sterling would imbalance the team. Do you feel that? Three mids over 11 million. Sane leaves more cash to maybe upgrade Anderson to someone like Alli later.

I think they will struggle even if Salah remains in good shape for the rest of the season.

Their squad does not have a whole pile of depth to it and you are starting to see some major problems emerging in defense at the moment. If something like a goal keeper injury or something happened to VVD i could see them dropping a good few points.

TAA/Lovren/Gomez all flagged and talk that they will have to call up young lads from the reserves to fill the gaps.

Milner RB, Fabinho CB in the short term with young Camacho (highly rated) as RB too
Matip could play this weekend (if Benteke plays) but both back very soon

I know Klopp can put something together even if not ideal but you must see that they are skating on thin ice right now and it would not take much to have Liverpool in real trouble.

VVD injury or red card would be a disaster for Liverpool at the moment.

Take Fernandinho out of City and you will have the same problem there. So that goes for them too, almost every team no matter how good they are have spots in their team that will be weakening their whole team when they´re gone. Liverpools squad is not as deep as City´s but a lot of their players are versatile enough to play in diff positions. Milner right back is not a downgrade from TAA.. quite similar, both good feets, link up play, TAA faster but Milner better positionally/awareness/reading of the game. Would have literally no effect on how they play.

KDB has been injured until now and City could not lead the league without him, Salah is equally/more important to Liverpool than KDB to City. With KDB (and Mendy) back now and Salah out, no chance.

Manés recent perfomances has been great from a football perspective. Problem is he lacks something in the final third, sometimes he finish cool, like vs Arsenal, but often when he has too much time to think he miss big chances. Just because it says 2.2.2 does´nt translate to being leggy tired...

Think Richarlson might be a busted flush, im looking to ship him out. Id also keep an eye on Jimenez if Wolves are paying 11m for a new striker.

One reason that I'm going with Sterling over Sane is the price point, makes it easier to swap out for Auba/Kane in the future.

Go with Sane, I was disappointed with my sterling punt earlier on in the season. dont think Sterling is worth he extra outlay. At this stage of the season with so many good options, every penny counts

I can see Alli going off. But yeah huge risk when Lucas/Lamela are so cheap and that Llorente could start.

The general consensus seems Moura will play up top but might not be ready for Fulham which could mean Llorente but only 1 game

2 cup games after Fulham to get a better feeling for Spurs. Willing to ride out the Llorente/Alli/Moura/Lamela problem until GW24. We'll also know by then if they have BGW27.

Aguero price rising fast (at this rate could rise in price tonight but certainly tomorrow night) and Aubameyang falling fast looking at fpl stats. Most feedback here is to prefer Aubameyang over Aguero. Is that still the case or would you get Aguero this week and Hokey Cokey back to Auba next week for Cardiff game ?

Depends on the rest of your team and if you'll need to use transfers on the rest of the squad. I actually dropped Kane and Auba this week. I'll get Auba back after his next 3 matches.

Think Auba more secure minutes wise, with Jesus scoring recently. Think Pep still has full faith in Jesus.

Any idea why Auba is falling so fast? It seems like a lot of people are replacing Kane with him but he has still gone down -1 and falling fast. Seems odd

Hey Drog, a quick glance at this week's sales shows a picture of approx 95k sales to a auba. 220k has sold him while 125k have bought him.

I have auba and will keep until I see perhaps Agüero back in The Game.

Yeah, I suppose. I just thought Rashford nd Auba would both kind of rise s kane fell, didnt anticipate an Auba fall this week. Ive done Arnie -> Rash and am reaally struggling with Kane -> Kun or Auba. Kun has two great games but Auba is more nailed and has a 27 fixture

Which one is worth doing on a free or do both for a hit? Would need pool to keep a CS to even break even though

    A) Guaita —> Alisson ( start Bednarek )

    Or

    B) TAA —> Robertson ( start Speroni )

Aye, defo ahead of Fellani, McTom goin out on loan. His running along with Matic defensive work, allows Pogba freedom to get in the opponent's box. So he's there really to get the best outta Pogba.

1FT and 6.1M in the bank.
    A - Barnes > Firmino
    B - Barnes > Auba
    C - Hold

    Fabianski
    Digne - Robertson - Bennett
    Salah - Hazard - Richarlison - Pogba
    Rashford - Jiminez - Barnes

Speroni - Kolasinac - Wan Bissaka - Biling

Reckon its a toss u this week to be honest. Wouldn't do A, no interest in Bobby.

Auba wont score more than one v chelsea and Barnes playing a porous watford. Id maybe hold this week.

Next week is a no brainer though. Maybe use 2FT next week with Barnes & Rich out for Auba & Moura/Lamela

I fear going into this gw without City asset vs. Hud

Need a hit to get Sané/Sterling, likely to pay off?

Reason I'm asking is that after Hud and Newcastle they have Arsenal and Chelsea so best to get one now or wait 3 weeks?

Arsenal at home is a great fixture too but why would you take a hit to bring in a player who might not even start? Obviously it could pay off but do you think it's worth it? Either would have to score a minimum of 7 points, realistically, to be worth it this week

      1. Alexis Nonsense

I have a feeling that if Sané starts he'll get more than 7pts

But since Sané is a greater rotation risk, Sterling is more tenmpting and he's not been great lately

I could ditch Felipe or Rich for him, but both are capable to brace at least and Sane might not even start. Risk of backfire is far too big. And Hazard may become option again.

Can't afford a Liverpool replacement for TAA without hits and don't have anyone I really want to lose to fund it.

Thinking straight swap to Shaw now with a view to possibly shift Digne to TAA as Everton's fixtures take a bit of a turn when TAA is due to return.
