Captains

Captain poll wide open for Double Gameweek 35

We are set for another wide open captaincy debate for Double Gameweek 35 of Fantasy Premier League.

There are a number of teams with two fixtures, but very few of those are particularly appealing – so it’s possible that Fantasy managers may have to turn to single Gameweek options.

You can now vote in our latest poll embedded below or in the sidebar.

Manchester City have arguably two of the hardest meetings of the season in their attempt to retain the Premier League title.

First, they host Spurs before travelling to face their city rivals Manchester United at Old Trafford.

The form of Raheem Sterling (£11.5m) could see him receive some attention but his record in matches against the top-six and the fact that he remains a rotation risk may put people off.

Likewise, Sergio Aguero‘s (£11.7m) chances of starting both Double Gameweek 35 matches seem low at this stage, especially as his services will probably be required in midweek Champions League action.

For the same reason, options such as Son Heung-min (£8.8m) could be hard to captain, considering he was named on the bench in Spurs’ Double Gameweek 34 win over Huddersfield.

Manchester United are in a similar position as they must travel to Everton, who have five clean sheets in their last seven, and host in-form Manchester City.

Arguably, the team with the best set of fixtures in Double Gameweek 35 is Wolves as they host Brighton and Arsenal.

Neither of their next two opponents have been particularly strong on their travels this season, while Wolves themselves have won four of their last five at Molineux, scoring 12 goals and conceding five times in that run.

That could see Raúl Jiménez (£6.9m) or even Diogo Jota (£6.2m) trusted with the armband by those looking for a pragmatic differential option.

Watford also have some appealing fixtures with a trip to Huddersfield and a home meeting with Southampton.

However, with Troy Deeney (£5.9m) now suspended and Gerard Deulofeu‘s (£5.6m) fitness situation currently unclear, backing the Hornets may prove difficult.

Arguably, the most attractive fixture of Double Gameweek 35, is Liverpool’s trip to Cardiff.

The Bluebirds have conceded at least two in seven of their last eight league matches, while the Reds are fresh off the back of defeating Chelsea 2-0.

They may only have one fixture in Double Gameweek 35, but the case for captaining either one of Mohamed Salah (£13.2m) or Sadio Mané (£10.1m) will be strong.

Have Arsenal got their sh1t together at the back? They have only conceded 1 goal in their last 6 games. Might get an Arse defender over Spurs or City

    Ederson Kepa
    VVD Robbo Doherty Bednarek Pereria
    Salah Maddison Son Camarasa Brooks
    Wilson Aguero Vardy

Vardy & Camaras > Jiminez & Moura for -4? Could do Pereria to somebody for -8?

Got in Deeney early and was planning on playing BB, which means that I have a strong bench of Leno, Brooks, Pereira and Schär. Now with Deeney out I'm faced with the dilemma of:

    A) Bench Deeney and play one of my reserves (play BB some other week)
    B) Transfer out Deeney for a hit (who for? 0 itb) and play BB
    C) Bench Deeney and play BB

    Thanks in advance

It’s bad if you captained him - i think bizarrely it’s good if you didn’t captain him as everyone on WC pretty much had Aguero, Jimenez and a 3rd striker.

Vardy best the other 3rd striker option by 4 points

I will still sell him for a hit but Duffy got ten points in the reverse of his dgw35 fixtures. Without a clean sheet. Nice and misleading stat.

Not checked this, but why is it misleading?

Only that you'd be foolish to expect the same this time around. Lightning strikes twice but Duffy doesn't get 20 points in a season vs spurs and wolves 😉

10m to replace Kolasniac & Camarasa.

    Thinking Kiko Femenía & Deulofeu.

Deeney and Duffy to Success/Long and TAA (-4)? Leaves enough to do Trippier to Robbo next week.

Any convincing reasons for Ings over Gray for remainder of the year?

    1. ㅤRising
      • 5 Years
      5 years, 4 days ago

Im not sure both are good options, Ings wont start both for sure, Gray is uknown if hell start both or not, and if you go Gray that means 2 transfer are used to get him in and get him out potentially

How about Shane Long at 4.6 will get you one start one sub game, and you wont need to transfer hit out later ? maybe good enough for BB

Made of glass and competing with Shlong - not for me.

Costs slightly less to bench him for every game after 35 I suppose.

Ings will to start when fit. Been pointed out that Deulofeu and Success tend to start when Deeney is missing. Ings is .5 cheaper. Not sure he's a better option but these are the reasons I see

Ings will NOT start both games, he just cant do it without getting injured with a 2 day rest in between

Southampton have better fixtures for the rest of the year, Ings playing for a permanent move?

    BB35, would you rather

    B Gunn & Duffy

Ryan & Val. Tough call though, not really much in it.

Trying to decide whether to sell Ryan or Duffy for Southampton def basically. Would rather Duffy for the goal threat no?

Earlier in the season I'd have said yes, but Valery - 2 goals in the last 5 matches. Duffy - nothing since GW26.

That's what's gone in but stats suggest Duffy still more of a threat. Twice the efforts basically

Actually much more than that. Valery 2 shots, 2 goals

Vardy -> Wilson (FUL) or Jimenez (BHA, ARS)
My mini-league rival has Wilson + Fraser and really punished me this week.

34 is still a reasonable amount to make up in ML? I'm not sure how many more red cards I can allow for though.
