The Dugout Discussion opens today for two Premier League games involving some of it’s most enjoyable teams to watch. Third-place chasing Spurs take on the exciting Swansea City after Newcastle host Liverpool, with the former fighting for European football.

The team news from the game at The Sports Direct Arena is in, and the sides line-up as follows…

Newcastle XI: Krul, Simpson, Williamson, Perch, Gutierrez, Guthrie, Tiote, Cabaye, Ben Arfa, Cisse, Ba.

Liverpool XI: Reina, Flanagan, Carragher, Skrtel, Jose Enrique, Shelvey, Spearing, Gerrard, Suarez, Carroll, Bellamy.

Alan Pardew is without the injured Fabricio Coloccini, which partners James Perch with Mike Williamson in central defence and puts Jonas Gutierrez in the left-back berth. It’s the same attacking mentality that served them so well at West Brom.

Liverpool also name an attacking side, knowing that a win here is essential if they want to overhaul the Magpies. Andy Carroll returns to his former stomping ground and starts alongside Luis Suarez.

        Well hard to predict, people did predict lower returns but not for Cisse to essentially take all of Ba's points! Ba has still been playing well and that -1 at Sunderland has had a big effect.

        Anyone recommend taking a hit to do Skrtel out for someone else? I dont like taking hits, but with Reina out, Agger, Johnson, Kelly injured. I cant see the Liverpool keeping a cleanie or any point in keeping Skrtel

        It's disappointing early game. I had decided to keep Suarez and didn't get P.Cisse for this match. Suarez got nothing. Cisse scored twice and tripple price rise.. 🙁

        Getting Reina for Krul on the DGW a few weeks ago for a 4 point hit was my worst transfer of the season. And I have Vorm as a second keeper whose been benched all these weeks because of it!
