FFS Cup

The latest FFS Cup fixtures and results

We’ve reached the semi-final stage of our second FFS Cup of the season.

The quarter-finals were resolved after the final two matches of Double Gameweek 35 on Wednesday evening and all of our semi-finalists broke the 100-point barrier in this round of fixtures.

Roger150 did likewise but was unfortunate to come up against
Ibra-gum, who prevailed by 123 points to 109.

Ibra-gum is the lowest-ranked manager left in the competition but his successful Bench Boost in Gameweek 35 lifted him 97,000 places to just outside the top 100k.

FFS moderator Rotation’s Alter Ego continued his fine season with a 110-71 win over HPCAMPBELL, who had an overall rank of 262 coming into Double Gameweek 35.

Rotation’s Alter Ego now has an OR of 1,716, with a Triple Captain chip still to use.

Our highest-ranked remaining manager is LOKOMOTIV, who is positioned at 1,298th – that being his best rank of the season so far.

LOKOMOTIV, who beat dark91 102-81 in the quarter-finals, also has a Triple Captain chip still up his sleeve.

Skogen89‘s successful deployment of the Bench Boost lifted him inside the top 20k for the first time since Gameweek 10 and helped see off Hi Ho Silva Lining by 115 points to 82.

Skogen89 is another FPL manager who still has their Triple Captain chip intact.

The full quarter-final results were as follows:

Hi Ho Silva Lining8262631vsSkogen8911517965
HPCAMPBELL71829vsRotation’s Alter Ego1101716
dark9181701011vsLOKOMOTIV1021298
Ibra-gum123101067vsRoger15010973131

The two Fantasy managers who lurk just outside the top 1k, Rotation’s Alter Ego and LOKOMOTIV, have been kept apart in the semi-finals.

The full draw is as follows:

Skogen8917965vsRotation’s Alter Ego1716

    KDB to Bilva
KDB to Salah -4 (This requires and enabler in the form of Laca to 6.4 FWD - Thinking Pérez as a differential)

Other pool are Robertson and Mane. Other City is Laporte and Kun

B is fine but wouldnt bother with 6.4 fwd if you already have 2 subs. you'll never have perez further forward than 2nd sub. just get quaner and upgrade elsewhere next week

It's a bit like Salah's first season at Liverpool - in reverse. Many of us found it uncomfortable to captain him for quite a long time despite his returns, and now - when Mane's comfortably outscoring him - we're reluctant to revert to the obvious.

So, if Salah hadn't scored since Christmas,(and he's been pretty disappointing no matter what) you'd base your captaincy choice on what he'd achieved in 17/18?

My ML rival is now only 2 points ahead of me and will likely TC Mane. (I no longer have TC)
So therefore I think there’s no point in me bringing in Mane for Son/Sterling or Eriksen (he also owns them) and captaining him to mitigate the effects of his TC.
Feel I’m maybe better off captain Sterling or Son instead and doubling up on Pool defence by getting Robbo for likes of Dunk or Doherty.
Does this make sense or am I talking %#*%?

Eriksen and Martial to Mane and Jota for a hit ?

Allows me to do Salah to Sterling in GW 37.

Looking at some moves and how crazy is it Sane has more points that BSilva! I am 43 ahead of my rival and i have the TC chip on him, he has no Salah (he will prob get him) but has Aguero & BSilva. Essentially covering his big guns while i place the TC on Salah.

So thoughts on Vardy & Sane - Aguero & Bsilva?????

    Ederson
    Bennett - TAA - Vertoghen
Salah (TC) - Sane - Son - Mane
    Jimi - Vardy - Llorente

    Ryan - Jota - Valery - Cathcart

Anyone else who still has their TC considering not playing it this GW?
My gut feeling is that Liverpool may win against Huddersfield however it wont be the haul everyone seems to be preparing for.

and what game do you expect will be a haul if not 2nd in the league at home to 20th in the league?

I know on paper it's the best option and obviously I understand why most people are going for it, and tbh I can see myself TC Mane this week. Just got that gut feeling that Huddersfield will sit back and defend and it'll be like 1 or 2 nil.

I think there is potential for other games, depending on what happens, for instance say by some miracle City slip and need to win that Brighton game in GW38 and Brighton have gone down, potentially you could argue City could go nuts.

My question was simply to see whether others shared a similar feeling and may be perhaps holding out till final GW

I've read this a few times and I simply can't understand why people think Huddersfield will give Liverpool any kind of a game. European Cup semi-final or not, Liverpool will destroy this pub team and we can only hope that out TC isn't sitting watching it in the stands.

Robbo Laporte Trippier ( Dunk , Peltier )

Salah Sterling Son Jota ( Camarasa )

I think KDB + Vardy to Hazard + Rashford looks a very good move for GW37.
The only problem is that all 8 of my attackers have great fixtures as DCL is at home to BUR and Jimenez is at home to FUL, tough benching headache!

benching headaches are a good thing, benching DCL is fine. he is a headless chicken but cheap enough

I don't think it is,but I'm tempted...I have Mane but I would TC Salah if I owned him

And anyone think to TC in GW 37 City assets ?

Nah, their defenders are still super value so nothing wrong with doubling up with two of Robbo/Trent/Virgil

I cant double defence without hits so i fancy more to double MIDD/ATT with a hit...

    Evening deadzone
Any ideas on what to do?
1FT and 0.6 spare. TC available
Thinking of holding so I can upgrade Llorente next week.

    Ryan
    TAA - Bednarek - Duffy
    Sterling - Son - Salah - Eriksen
    Aguero - Jiminez - Llorente

    Foster - Bennett - Boly - Hojbjerg

    A) Aguero + Mane(c)
    B) Firmino + Salah(c) -4

I would lose Eriksen for Mane/Salah and Aguero for Firmino (already have Sterling for City cover)

    Which?

    A) eriksen & aguero -4 to salah rash
    B) eriksen & wilson -4 to firmino redmond/jota
    C) dunk/valery/bednarek & eriksen -4 to robbo/vvd/laporte jota/redmond

Deciding on which hit to take this week if any. Which looks a better fit? 🙂

    Ryan
Robertson, Laporte, Doherty, Duffy* and Valery
Sterling, Mane, Eriksen*, Son and JWP*
    Aguero, Jimenez and Llorente*

    A) Duffy, Eriksen, Llorente --> Peltier, Redmond and Firmino (-4)
    B) Eriksen, JWP and Llorente --> Jota, Holland( 4.0 benchfodder) and Firmino

    A) allows me to have Redmond/Firmino for their upcoming Huddersfield games
    B) allows me to have Firmino and in form Jota, who plays the bad defences of Watford and Fulham.

Mmm a lot depends on the final press conferences I guess. You'd rather have Llorente/Eriksen over Firmino/Jota or Firmino/Redmond?

Looking forward this final qualifying week of LMS, good luck Embolofan 🙂
