We’ve been here before. Seven days ago we were waxing lyrical about the efforts of Papiss Cisse and Hatem Ben Arfa – a week later, we’re at it again having seen both combine to unravel a hapless Liverpool.

Cisse’s brace took him to seven in as many games, while at the Lane, Emmanuel Adebayor confirmed himself as a rival for a slot in our squads, as he returned to goalscoring form.

    Morning Zoners

    I'm looking at a midfield / striker combi for GW33-35. At the moment I'm considering -

    A. Sess & Balotelli
    B. McClean & Aguero
    C. McClean & Tevez
    D. Sess & Ade ( requires playing with only 10 in GW34 )
    E. Something else.

    The interesting thing about this time of day is that the opinions often differ drastically for UK evening time.

      i would be looking at ade for 35 til the end. honestly not sure i'd risk it with city strikers.... too much rotation risk. consider bendnter or however u spell his name, graham, odemwingie, long, and the yak as possibilites as all have games in 34.

      i think graham might be the best choice with qpr, blackburn and bolton over the span of 33-35
      and withany of those options i'd go with sess or walcott or valencia, whoever you dont have and can afford

      None of city striker looks certain to start.. Aguero probably is, but his away form is not so reliable. Two of that good run are away games. If I have to choose one, it might be Balo if he can keep his starting place this gw. Btw, there seem to be other cheap interesting choices like Bendtner or Graham to consider.

    If you have 11 players for GW 34, and you don`t take hits. That would leave you with max 7 DGW`s in 36 right?

      Think this was a bad week for Dave, Swans away and no fixture in 34. Yak or Bendy was a better option, I'll be getting Cisse in in 36. Double Sunderland defenc v Spurs is a no-no I'd bench Bardsley to Caulker.

      Tough bench choices. Benching Bale and also doubling on Sun defense is risky. I'd prob play Caulker over Bardsley.

      as somebody who got burned by Bendter earlier in the season, and also as an NUFC fan, it pains me to say this but the logic is there with Bendter aye...

      I don't fancy Balo once Aguero is back and Tevez is match fit, have also been looking at Odemwingie but West Brom were really poor today from what I saw.

      Anyway cheers guys some food for thought.

    As tempting as Cisse is (and he really is), I think I'm going to go with Adebayor. Fixtures better, better DGW, plays 90 mins etc. This means a transfer plan of:

    GW32: Surman -> McClean (bit pointless as he'd probably be 1st sub, but need to make a transfer)
    GW33: Dempsey & Suarez -> Bale & Ade
    GW34: Shotton -> a 4.8m or below GW34 playing defender (Turner, Olsson, Rangel).
    GW35: McClean -> Ryo/Petrov
    GW36: Kompany & Walcott -> BAE & Mata (4 point hit)

    Seem ok? 0.4m of room to manouvre with price movements if they go against me...

        Yep, subs in GW34 would be Migs, Skrtel, Bale & Ade.

        On reflection I might just do the above GW34 transfer this week and not bother with Surman -> McClean. Takes up a free transfer and I'd only play him in GW34. Surman should still play, even if he'll struggle to get more than 2 points at home to MCY. Means I can do the 2 transfers in GW36 for no hit... better?

        Re your question, I think it depends on what your other players are, but purely for those 3 games I'd probably say Sess & Balotelli (they play all of them). If you can afford to bench one of them in GW34 then Sess & Ade.

          Yes, maybe sticking with Surman is a good idea. He should play ( maybe ) and get 2 points ( probably ). No hit is always better!

          Dunno about Balotelli. Seems like a real lottery buying him, you just don't know what you're going to get.

      Also, growing closer to getting Adebayor/VDV/Bale for the double and getting Cole instead of Kaboul (with VDV instead of Mata)
      I know last time Spurs kept two clean sheets and those 3 didn't do much, but that was vs WBA/Everton who normally don't get smashed, Blackburn/Bolton could both be 3 or 4-1, something to look at over the next few weeks.

        Yeah, I'm toying with a similar idea. Only thing is, if Spurs scramble two 1-0 wins or similar it could be painful. At the moment I'm going with Bale, Ade & BAE (and Mata). Something to take into consideration is that 'Arry likes to protect VDV and his dodgy strings, i.e. he may only play 1 of the 2 games in GW36....

    Morning deadzone! 54 points from my dynamic duo dave and barfa over the last two games (assuming 5 bonus points this week, and fingers crossed the barfa assist stays - i don't think that it should by the way), have brought me right back into the game, and cut my rivals lead to just 5 points. I'll take that!

    Would have loved dave to finish the game though. Another goal would have just about seen me move into 2nd place in my main league (just behind Mrs China Mag), and I had a fiver on dave for a hat-trick at 50-1, and Newcastle minus two goals at 20-1!! That would have been a glorious day!

            You would need to tell me the alternatives. Against west brom we played the perfect away game in the first half. And attacked well yesterday too, so we should have a good chance of scoring. I would say if you have a good alternative, only play one swansea defender.

                  I have the same question. Only I have Kelly and Shotton instead of Komp and Williamson. Would you start one of those two instead of Caulker? (Certainly not Shotton? A non-starter?)

        Suarez -> P Cisse or Adebayor in GW33 is my big dilemma right now. Assume you reckon P Cisse is the way to go?

          I would be loathe to get somebody in GW33 that is going to miss out GW34. Maybe a short term transfer (danny graham?) then dave in after the blank. I'm a bit worried about adebayor to be honest. He could go big. And I don't have a spot for him until I get him in for rooney for the double. Mrs China Mag might have to get him in for suarez

                  Outta those I guess Caulker has the highest chance for a CS but maybe Williamson to spread the risk? Newcastle look decent at the back today but they were at home to a pretty terrible LOLpool team.

                    I can't see fulham getting a clean sheet away to bolton, and shotton might be on the bench and come on for 5 mins. So if they are your choices, you might as well go caulker.

          Just be aware that Cahil is a rotaion risk and might be getting u a few 1 pointers. Ruddy in goal seems criminal to me at this stage of the season. Dunno how that happened but you should be looking to bring in a Keeper playing in the DGW( Brad or Tim).

          When I was watching the game, it never crossed my mind that it was a barfa assist. I didn't think he was anywhere near it. Ba assist all day for me. I haven't seen it since to review it though.

            This is something I'm mulling over also. The last 2 fixtures look to be of similar difficult so it will prob just come down to form at the time I decide to bring Ade in.

            i think that rvp has better fixtures from 36 til the end. especially in 36. and the rest he has slightly easier games. plus you have to factor in that rvp is on all set pieces whereas rooney only gets some. and arsenal's two main scorers seem to be rvp and walcott where united it could be rooney, welbeck, hernadez, young, nani, valencia, giggs, etc

              This was my original thinking also but I feel it will mostly come down to form at the time of the TFs. Form over fixtures has served me pretty well this season and I'm not gonna abandon it now.
