FIFA Women’s World Cup Match Predictor

From June 7 to July 7 the FIFA Women’s World Cup takes place in France. For that reason the official FIFA page has started a Match Predictor game.

The rules for the Match Predictor

Making predictions

For every match of the World Cup group stage, you will be able to predict the match result. From the Round of 16 onwards, you will be able to (i) predict the match result and (ii) answer two bonus questions for every remaining match.

Predictions can be changed at any point up until the scheduled kick-off time of the match in question. Once your completed prediction is submitted and the match in question begins, you will not be able to edit it at any time.

During the World Cup you will earn points based on your correct predictions (see the Points and Scoring section below for more details).

Points and Scoring

For each match, points are awarded for:

• Predicting the correct scoreline
• Predicting the correct result
• Predicting the correct margin of victory
• Predicting the correct number of goals scored
• Correctly answering the bonus questions (only applicable from knockout stage onwards)

For each points category listed above (excluding number of goals scored) you will earn a score between 1 to 100 points (the exact amount awarded will depend on the number of other participants who also made the correct prediction). The lower the number of participants who make a correct prediction, the more points will be awarded.

A guide to the number of points which can be earned for each prediction is displayed on the Match Predictor page under each prediction bracket. Points will be updated ‘live’ while the match is in progress.

Joker

For every matchday, you can assign one prediction to be your joker. A correct joker prediction will result in any points awarded for that match being doubled!

Joker selections can be changed at any time up until the scheduled kick-off of the match in question.

Group A: France (World ranking #4), Norway (#12), South Korea (#14), Nigeria (#38).

Group B: Germany (#2), Spain (#13), China (#16), South Africa (#49).

Group C: Australia (#6), Brazil (#10), Italy (#15), Jamaica (#53).

Group D: England (#3), Japan (#7), Scotland (#20), Argentina (#37).

Group E: Canada (#5), Netherlands (#8), New Zealand (#19), Cameroon (#46).

Group F: USA (#1), Sweden (#9), Thailand (#34), Chile (#39).

The top two teams of each group and the four best third-placed teams advance to the round of 16.
