What has happened to Ryan Fraser this season?

It has not been a memorable start to the season for Bournemouth midfielder Ryan Fraser (£7.3m).

After registering a total of seven goals and 14 assists in 2018/19, the Scottish international has now gone three matches of the new campaign without a single attacking return.

Not surprisingly, Fraser has already dropped £0.2m in price as Fantasy managers look elsewhere for value in midfield.

However, is there a possibility that they may come crawling back when Bournemouth’s fixtures become a little more favourable.

Gameweek 3 pitted the Cherries against defending champions Manchester City, while this weekend takes them to face Leicester City.

After those two tough matches, Gameweek 5 sees Eddie Howe’s men host Everton before they clash with Southampton (away) and West Ham (home).

We have assessed Fraser’s numbers from the first three matches of 2019/20 to see whether his owners should be patient or not.

As this article uses data from the Fantasy Football Scout Members Area, only those who have signed up for the new season can access it in full.

How has Fraser started the season?

Lessons learned from Gameweek 3

There is a drastic change in the number of points needed for a great finish in the past 10 years.

Chips might have added some points but certainly the game has got a lot tougher.

From GW 5 onwards do you prefer:

    A) Wesley Pepe Cantwell
    B) Barnes Martial Mount

I can do either with a -4. But with price changes closing in, I have to move for B soon if I'm gonna do that or be priced out. B is so safe/template, but it smacks of chasing points.

B, but you should wait to hear what the situation is with Martial and Mount. I could see Mount playing this week and Martial missing out.

B by far.. obviously wait on Martial’s fitness.

Mount is a mini-Hazard the way he buzzes around. Loves a shot and on majority of set pieces. Martial is an OOP 7.6 striker playing for a top 6 side with the 2nd best xG in the league, and Ashley Barnes tops the shots in the league. Don’t overthink it

I'm not keen on your wildcard tbh. Matip and Zinchenko are rotation concerns, Pepe looks good but is he a better option than KDB? Keane isnt proven and we (Everton) are not looking great going forward. You could swap Martial for Mount for free this week, or swap Martial and Kane for KDB and Haller for -4, and pocket the money for next week, and give yourself more thinking time. Your current team is good.

Do the team's stats not interest you?

WHam have the 3rd highest xG of any team in the league, ahead of Liverpool. And this is after having already played City (I guess they've also played Watford but it was away...) It seems a pretty slam dunk that getting the nailed on forward from a side creating so much.

Is it though? Jimenez is 7.5m this year in a more defensive minded Wolves team. Last year, we all bought Arnie when he was fit and he was 7.0m.

It's not so bad really. If he was 8.0m+ then yeah maybe, but at 7.5m, he's fairly priced.

I often find it important to look sat how much of that f as gained value is locked up in assets you will not likely sell and therefore it's not real 'equity' you can spend.....elites like Salah, sterling etc. Big rises in value of a player also make it less likely you'll sell them too in case you want them back.

If Martial is out I’m looking at Mount (if fit ) or Cantwell, with Mount I can upgrade AWB to TAA and with the Cantwell move I can upgrade Wickham to Haller, which route to go here ?

    Basically comes down to this;

    A) Mount and TAA
    Or
    B) Haller and AWB

You're missing the last slot which affects things quite a lot.

      So it's really:
      A) Greenwood, Mount, TAA
      B) Haller, Cantwell, AWB

B is closer now but probably still A unless you're forced to play Greenwood every week somehow.

The site has changed since mods and more established managers chose to stop posting as much and move elsewhere. I think it's a shame. Used to be much more spontaneous chat with Mark, Granville, mods on here.

I wish I was around for the glory days! I’ve always been a huge fan of the premier league, just didn’t discover FPL until much much later. I can understand they have to prioritise their families (just as I do), but would be great to see them here periodically

Starting to lose faith in Kane without Eriksen and Vertongen in the team and need to finally get Pukki in.

Thoughts on Kane and Firmino -> Pukki and Aguero/Haller
Or better to keep the faith for another week?
        Thanks in advance

Alli back for the weekend apparently and Pochettino could start Eriksena and Vertongen out of desperation and for all we know they could look back to their best but a lot of ifs and buts ofcourse

        Really thinking a wildcarding already.

        Have martial, Kane, Delefeu, Lucas.

        Want Sterling, Aguero etc

Nothing wrong with Martial possibly. Kane had 1 bad game, relax. Aguero is only nailed for Brighton. Yes, Sterling is basically essential but a WC isn't needed. Get Deulo + Lucas out and try and get Raz in somehow

Aguero is City's no.1 striker and will start the most of their games when fit, just like last season. It depends on the rest of your team, but if you dont have Sterling and are holding multiple dodgy players then I would wildcard. Some people have really solid teams with just 3-4 issues and shouldn't wildcard but delaying otherwise is just missing out on points and losing value.

If United didn't lose their last game to Palace then I think there would be a good chance that Greenwood starts, but with United now travelling to Southampton I think Ole might go with a bit more experience to try and bank that win... I can easily see him getting minutes, but maybe like 25 of them at the end of the game

        Pope - Woodman
        Laporte - Zinchenko - AWB - Lundstram - Hanley
        Sterling - Mane - Martial - Lanzini - Mount
        Kane - Pukki - Wickham

1 FT and 0.1m in the bank.

Martial ➡ Cantwell sound good for free? Allows me to do Wickham ➡ Barnes next gw. Or, does something else stand out?

        Opinions appreciated. 🙂

I took a -8 hit to get pukki, Abraham and cantwell for Perez, Wilson and martineli on Saturday.

        Pope/Button
        Robbi/vvd/dinge/zinchenko/lundstram
        Salah/Sterling/Martial/caballos/Cantwell
        Pukki/Abraham/Wesley
        +0.4 itb

What do you think? Still got wildcard.

I would like to downgrade Robbo and Wesley and upgrade caballos. But I'm happy to see how they go for a few gws.

Having a good time of it so far on 204 but the price rises and falls could catch me out.

Has anyone still got Joshua King? He's fallen to 6.4 and I'm worried.

        Ryan
        Zinchenko Roberston WanB Digne
        KdB Sterling Salah Mount
        King Pukki

        Button Dendoncker Lundstram Greenwood

Got 0.9 ITB but swapped Perez for Mount (I hear he only had a knock)

        Any recommendations for King?

Mount is fine, has been training. Nice team. I really like Ashley Barnes. I know he plays the Reds but with his stats and the defensive stats of Liverpool I wouldn’t be surprised if he doesn’t have some great opportunities to score points in that match. Then look at the fixtures thereafter for Burnley!

          A. TAA is awesome, but Salah is a must have and TAA will be subject to occasional rotation because of Gomez.
